Common Questions and Answers about Clarinex symptoms

clarinex

Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Avatar m tn Acid reflux, specifically laryngeal-pharyngeal reflux, can cause the symptoms you describe. You might want to try some OTC reflux meds like prilosec or zantac. Feel better.
Avatar f tn my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain, but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.
519035 tn?1348275773 Thanks;) I have some allergy medicine, more in the chest now then in the head;)
Avatar n tn I have taken the breathing test with the nebulyzer and they found nothing wrong. All they do now is try to medicate me to control the symptoms. I tried Singulair but the side effects are bad. I am currently trying Claritin but these solutions do not seem to work. Anybody else have this issue or suggestions that will make this go away. To compound things I live at 5200 ft elevation so the oxygen level is even lower than sea level.
Avatar f tn Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn For the itchy bumps, take antihistaminics like Benadryl(causes drowsiness) and Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes as it helps in soothing the skin. You can also apply mild steroid cream on the rash.If the symptoms persists then oral steroids may be needed which are available on prescription. Also keep the area well moisturized with good moisturiers. If the itching persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope that helps.
Avatar m tn What really helped me was Clarinex prescription from my doctor. It doesn't work right away. They do have claritin OTC but it is less strong. It takes a while but then it works after a while and then I hardly had any allergies. Another thing you can try along with this is daily Nasal crom spray. It doesn't harm the nose like other nasal sprays.
Avatar m tn ve been having similar problems with my hearing. I went to the doctor and he gave me clarinex and flonnase. The medications did nothing. I have spoken with two other people that have had similar issues with their hearing. One person said his problems went away after one month. I've had problems for one month and it doesn't seem do be getting any better.
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor when experiencing thick post nasal drip, dizziness, puffy eye and she diagnosed me with a sinus infection and put me on augmenten for 10 days. The mucus is now clear but the thick clear sticky post nasal drip is still chronic. I'm constantly snorting and spitting up mucus. I went to the ENT and he prescribed Nasonex and Mucinex. But it did not help. He then did a scope and found an abudnance of thick sticky mucus and he suctioned some of it out.
Avatar n tn I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.
Avatar n tn I have taken at least 10 different inhalers, clarinex, antibiotics, antacids, and nasal spray. Nothing works. I now also have a small lump behind my left ear (not sure if it is related in any way or not). If this was due to allergies or asthma, wouldn't the inhalers and meds have helped? What other possibilities could there be or should I be trying something else or getting another opinion a this point.
345124 tn?1234483278 i finally saw a doctor today after a year of sinus and eustachian tube symptoms and off and on dizziness. mostly it was the spooky dizziness that made me want to see a doctor.
Avatar n tn Try stopping current contact lens if you have them, try an oral antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin, or Clarinex, try an allergy drop like Patenol, Pataday, or Elestat, find out if you have allergies by seeing an allergist, then control any allergens that you are exposed to, see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated for possible oculare allergies, and also to be checked out for dry eyes. Good Luck.
1136103 tn?1260667675 I take singulair, clarinex-d and lipo-flavonoid (for ringing in the ear) also the jelly or goo I am seeing happens almost everyday or every other day, every week is different.
345124 tn?1234483278 postnasal drip, nasal congestion, phlegm, crackling in my eustachian tubes when i swallow and when im chewing food, tinnitus, occasional headaches, ear pressure(like im in a plane), a painless but spooky sensation that the inside of my head behind my face, above my eyes and on top of my head is inflated or expanding, and of course the worst:dizziness.
Avatar m tn I originally went to an ambulatory care doctor. After hearing my symptoms, he decided that I had the virus that causes Walking Pneumonia and gave me some medicine. A week later, I was getting worse. I was having very labored breathing (with tightness in my chest). A 2nd trip was made to ambulatory care to see the same doctor. I got a chest x-ray, which showed some cloudiness across both lobes. He said that I had Walking Pneumonia and gave me different medicine.
Avatar m tn I am currently taking Clarinex and prescription nose spray wit a steroid in it. Nothing helps my allergies. it is so bad i cannot even irrigate my nostrils with a neti pot- the water doesn't drip through. I a supposed to start allergy shots on tuesday of next week. Does anybody have any insight to this? Will this work for me? I was considering getting a surgery to clear my nasal airway. i know it won't cure my allergies but will help my quality of life.
Avatar n tn He thought part of this could be due to a snus infection. His MD ordered an MRI, placed him on Avelox x 10 days, Clarinex daily and Ultram 200 mgm daily & ordered an MRI of the brain. The Ultram 200 was too strong and it was decreased to 100 mgm daily.
Avatar m tn He understood my concerns but felt it was an alergic reaction of some sort and that the underarm and groin rashes were the same thing even though they looked different in shape. Gave me some 5mg Clarinex to take once a day combined with Betamethasone Valerate Cream twice a day. After a couple days the rash greatly reduced and now at 7 days is almost completely gone. Had a rapid HIV test at day 26 which was negative. Have given blood for a PCR test whose results I will get late this week.
Avatar f tn If on receipt of this response, you are still having any trouble breathing, you must see a doctor without delay, for treatment that will provide good control of your symptoms. Such treatment will require the use of more than one inhaler, one of which should be a long-acting bronchodilator such as Serevent and the other, an inhaled steroid such as Flovent. These drugs are often combined into one inhaler: examples of this are, Advair and Symbicort.
534785 tn?1329592208 Wow, you do have a lot going on. Are you on any meds that could be causing any of your symptoms as side effects? I'm guessing your symptoms are coming from multiple sources, so you may have to attack them a few at a time. Have you tried going to doctors affiliated with teaching hospitals? I've had better luck with them because they see so much and it's their job to be curious. And the ones I know love a good challenge.
534785 tn?1329592208 I'm a 22-yr-old female with a relatively healthy background up until this past year. I'm on the following medications/treatments: Provigil, Rhinocort Aqua, Clarinex, allergy shots, & CPAP for moderate sleep apnea. No one in my family has a history of thyroid problems, but in late April 2008, I began to experience a litany of symptoms that prompted me to visit a doctor.
