Hi, welcome to the forum, patients with this condition develop the rapid onset of a wheal or hives and flare reaction after firm stroking, scratching, or the application of pressure to the skin.
In simple urticaria i.e. in absence of itching no treatment is required.
If it is associated with antihistamines like citirizine or loratidine can be used against prescription. This helps to prevent such attacks.
Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines.
Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness.
Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.
You could also try taking Benadryl and seeing if you can take a deep breath after 25 minutes. But the mask also covers irritants. Both are easy tests.

Claritin probably isn't going to affect the mucus.
The doctor just started my Mom on Zyprexa 5 MG today, she has Alzheimers and is taking Tradazone and Buspirone . An hour after taking the Zyprexa she was confused and thought my nephew was her child.She is 80 and lives alone,My sister her main caregiver lives next door and takes care of her meds and food, We are afraid she will not sleep with this new med.and wander outside.any thoughts from anyone..
my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain,but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.
hi dr.. Im 26 years, female. i have a problem regarding my skin. after i took a bath, a red rashes appear on my face and chest for about 5-10 minutes before it completely gone. I've been to a dermatologist and she told me i have this aquatic urticaria. She recommends me to take desloratadine antihistamine every time this rashes appear again. i need your help.. is there any way that this allergy will not occur even though i would not take this kind of medicine? Kindly reply..
Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
In the meantime, i have switched allergy medication from Clarinex to Xyzal, which may also be helping a little. I now take the allergy medication before bed whereas before, I had been taking Clarinex in the mornings.
I notice that the problem of too much mucus seems less prevalent in the mornings upon waking up. It worsens in the afternoon and evening, especially after meals.

My symptoms started a month ago when i had a fever, throat pain, coughing up yellow mucus and a runny nose, so i decided to visit my doctor which prescribed Klacid 500 mg (Clarithromycin), which i took and after a few days the runny nose stopped and my throat no longer hurt, however, i was still caughing, which a follow-up to my doctor gave me Valdocef (Cefadroxil) which i also took but the cough remained.
Daily daclatasvir (60 mg*) and sofosbuvir (400 mg) for 12 weeks (no cirrhosis) or 24 weeks with or without weight-based RBV (cirrhosis) is recommended for treatment-naive patients with HCV genotype 3 infection.
Rating: Class I, Level A (no cirrhosis); Class IIa, Level C (cirrhosis)
Daily sofosbuvir (400 mg) and weight-based RBV plus weekly PEG-IFN for 12 weeks is recommended for IFN-eligible, treatment-naive patients with HCV genotype 3 infection.
Methods
Patients from six centres in New Zealand and Australia who were chronically infected with HCV genotype 1 received up to 13 days oral combination treatment with RG7128 (500 mg or 1000 mg twice daily) and danoprevir (100 mg or 200 mg every 8 h or 600 mg or 900 mg twice daily) or placebo. Eligible patients were sequentially enrolled into one of seven treatment cohorts and were randomly assigned by interactive voice or web response system to either active treatment or placebo.
It is equally unknown whether MG can cause silent PID or only with symptoms like low abdominal pain. Regardless of cause, for most PID the symptoms are mild, not sufficiento to be any kind of "medical emergency".
In this study, 95 patients were randomized across five treatment arms with regimens of MK-7009 300 mg or 600 mg twice daily, MK-7009 600 mg or 800 mg once daily, or placebo, for 28 days. Patients in all treatment arms received standard doses of peg-IFN/RBV in combination with the MK-7009 or placebo regimens, and are continuing to receive peg-IFN/RBV for an additional 44 weeks. HCV RNA was measured by the HCV RNA PCR TaqMan 2.
