I went to the doctor the 13th(my mom forced me to) and got diagnosed for Typhoid Fever, and I came out positive(I have been tested for typhoid 3 times and got high results on the Widal Test for the 0 and H antigens), and I got Ciprofloxacin to relieve my illness.

Better for you than typhoid. Did a doctor prescribe the Cephalexin? And did he know you are pregnant? Then you should be OK. If you have doubts or did not get the prescription from your doctor who knows you are pregnant, ask a doctor or a pharmacist. Don't take any antibiotic or other drug that wasn't prescribed to you. But if that is the case, see a doctor because typhoid is very serious.

i was diagnose with typhoid, i was asked to take augmentin625mg 2x a day for 7 days, now after 4 days i still have d symptoms.

t stop there, I also experienced fever, shivering within, sweats in the afternoon, Diarrhoea, dryness of mouth, sour mouth. I went to a doctor, test for malaria and typhoid were carried and it read that i had typhoid fever. I was given injections for about 5days. Didn't experience those symptoms again, untill in June. They came back again. I started taking pain killers like ibuprofen, daclofenac and amoxyl(antibiotics) tablets to ease the pain. I also started coughing.

Secondly i dont know how i got typhoid.. Anyways i got typhoid positive from two labs. and totaly negative from one.... even i gave my blood the same day before medication to all of them.. The third one which gave negative results, they used elisa for typhoid. please help me in this matter. thanks.

I picked up a food borne illness while in MX in September & my doctor put menon an antibiotic.. it was azithromycin & it was a pregnancy category B (no evidence of risk).I don't know if it treats typhoid though & what I had was not typhoid. I was so relived as the other person who responded is correct.. typhoid is very very dangerous to the baby. Definitely treat immediately.

You need to get the second vaccination against Hepatitis A to have full immunity. It should be good for life. The Typhoid vaccine is only good for several years so if you were to travel again several years later, you may need to get re-vaccinated for Typhoid.

The Widel test is to check for Typhoid but your result is slightly low. A positive usually is 160 or higher for recent infection. Did you have a vaccine of typhoid in your life? This vaccine can cross react with this test. The high Eos short for the Eosinophil cells, and are high but not that high. But being high they are a sign of a parasitic infection or fungal infection not a bacterial. Usually your white blood cell count would be high.
