Sinus dripping all the time, and also becoming more intense while sleeping, waking to clear my throat. Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
t say that Cipro affected my PVCs, but that might have been because I was distracted by the painful tendinitis it gave me. Cipro is one of the fluoroquinolone antibiotics, and while they have their uses, they are associated with tendon inflammation and rupture in a certain percentage of patients. I am one of those.
Thank you for the suggestions. I received cipro for the uti. Same day i went and had a 10 panel sti test done. All negative excepte for HSV 1 which i knew i most likely had from a test i did many years ago.
No ghonnoria or clymidia which is was worried about.
My wife had hsv before we met so not much worry.
No more risk ever again.
1. Can the screens be accurate while on Cipro and/or 4 days after completing an antibiotic cycle?
2. Could I still have a bacterial STD after taking Cipro and Doxo?
3. With no pain or discharge and only the tingling sensation (before, during, and/or after urination or ejaculation) could this still be a bacterial std?
4. Could prostatitis persists this long, even after antibiotics?
5. Should I be concerned about STDs or just take the Cipro and continue treatment for prortititus?
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness?

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Has anyone had any problems with heart rhythm and taking cipro? I have read the side effects and it's scaring me. I don't have any QT prolongations but I sure have other rhythm problems.
Hello, i recieved unprotected oral from my girlfriend about 2 months ago and have slight pain while urinating. I am currently on my second dose of Cipro (500mg) but the symptoms aren’t really subsiding.
Main symptoms are:
After drinking water i need to go to the bathroom fast; every other soft drink , etc. Is fine
Mild pain underneath both sides of my stomach
Slight irritation while urinating
Genital area feels really hot sometimes
Throbbing sensation sometimes.
Now, unfortunately, there is more trouble. After weeks of Cipro I still have most of my old symptoms; frequency of urination, burning while urinating, and itching in urethra sometimes. There are also some new symptoms; constipation, darker yellow/ orange urine, and watery ejaculate. And now, as to make things worse, my girlfriend missed her period and is having white sticky discharge after and during sex. And before you say she might be pregnant, she isn't. HPT was negative.
My right flank and abdomen was tender to touch and even walking made me nauseated; my stomach muscles and side felt weak and shaky.
On tuesday, I started to feel a burning sensation while urinating, in fact, even when I dont urinate, there is discomfort. I saw a dr. on Tuesday and he performed a urine culture and told that I have a UTI and prescribed Cipro. Since I am so nervouse and anxious, I had an STD test (blood, urine) and the results came in today as negative. I still feel a little bruning and discomfort.
I told my Dr I might be pregnant and they didn't do a test and prescribed me cipro for a bladder infection. I took it for 5 days, 10 pills, and am only 5 weeks. I had some cramping but no bleeding at all. The ER couldn't see anything because I was around 4.5 weeks so I'm seeing my OB tomorrow but would love to read anyone else's experiences with Cipro during pregnancy.

Cipro can cause tendon problems - some have torn or broken the achilles tendon by stepping down too hard while taking Cipro. You will usually feel that the tendon is hard as a rock - if you feel that, wait to exercise, until you have stopped taking the antibiotic.
You may have to switch to a different antibiotic - see your doctor.
In fact no it can not I went to GU doctor yesterday after tested negative for chlaymida and gonherea while on cipro he's answer to me was ciprofloaxcin can not cure sti it could only cause a false positive not s negative because it does not cure the infection . pls vience and need advise 0615 do not use false answers !!
Hi bobby, im not sure about cipro but i do know i took it for stomach bacteria while traveling overseas. But doctors know what to prescribe for infections and prostititus is not a big time infection like Gonorrehea.
Really sounds like an irregular movement during sex as you had the pain the next day. Shooting pains could be from a pinched nerve.
Your prostate is connected to all the areas that you mention and your urethrea goes down the middle of it and could also cause shooting pains.
) I am just relieved to know its not an STD, and that my Husband hasn't cheated! I should have been smarter then to do that but we have done it plenty in the past and I have never had any trouble like this.
So I got diagnosed with gonorrhea and have been taking Cipro for 3 days now. However, the side effects of gonorrhea (pain while urinating, and yellow puss disharge) have only gotten worse. There is more discharge, and the pain has become excrusciating to the point that tears are shed. I want to get rid of this soon, or atleast the pain and drainage.
I am afraid that I may have a Cipro-resistant strain seeing that nothing has improved and has only worsen ten-fold.
