Common Questions and Answers about Cipro website

cipro

Avatar m tn Both Cipro and Levaquin are drugs of a class known as quinolones. Of the two Cipro has the least side effects. The sore muscles may last for weeks or months or you may feel better in a few days. With that class of drugs there are ocasional reports of permanent tendon damage. This does not mean they should not be used. It is a matter of risk and benefit.
Avatar n tn My doctor just put me on Cipro for a UTI. I am also on the pill (Ovcon 35). Can the Cipro cause the pill to be less effective? Answer: When a woman is taking oral contraceptives and has to also take antibiotics (such as Cipro) that could decrease the effectiveness of the oral contraceptives, it is recommended that she use a back up method of contraception (i.e. a condom) during the entire time she is on the antibiotics and for 7 days after she stops taking the antibiotics.
Avatar f tn Hi Diane, Just finished reading your comments. Product names : Cipro, Ciloxan. Ciprofloxacin, a quinolone antibacterial, is used to treat several types of bacteria resistant to other commonly used antibiotics. It is especially useful for some types of chest infections, and skin, intestinal , and urinary tract infections. Possible Adverse Effects Ciprofloxacin commonly causes nausea and vomiting; other side effects are less common, except when high doses are given.
Avatar m tn Well, symptoms definitely persister, and got a lot worse, so I changed doctors and he tested me for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Chlamydia came back negative, but positive for Gonorrhea. He gave me a script for 2 Cipro 500 mg a day for 5 days and a doxy regimine too (just to be safe towards anything else that could be hiding). Well, it's been 10 days since I finished the Cipro and I'm still having problems.
Avatar f tn But i get urinalysis dont and some of it had bacteria not a big amount but enough to perscribe me medicane. but whenever i did have one the cipro really took care of it. Do you have the website for the CDC guidelines on IGM testing, Ive never seen it, and ive been looking for it. If its in the CDC guidlines wh dont doctors follow it.
Avatar m tn Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Avatar f tn Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
Avatar n tn I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face. I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Avatar n tn Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness? This discussion is related to Discomfort after taking Cipro.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives. From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Avatar m tn Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
Avatar n tn is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Avatar f tn Started Cipro Monday afternoon for travelers diarrhea with bloody stool. Finished last dose Wednesday night. No symptoms yesterday, but has a bloody stool today.
Avatar m tn I have prostatisis right now, and am taking CIPRO. These have been there for a little over two weeks now, and are slowly slowly fading. There is no pain, but there is a slight "ting" feeling every so often or when I swallow. I also have no fever, headache, rash, pain, or sores anywhere on me. I dont know what this is or if it will go away. I have been on CIPRO for the last 2 weeks, so its probably viral? but I dont know what causes these things?! I want them to go away.
Avatar m tn 4-5 leukocytes per field / 50 fields, however, a week later had a second urine anlysis and results came back all negative, but still have slight burning symptoms. The doctor has put me on CIPRO been on medication now for 6 days now 500mgx2 daily, my burning symptoms have slightly improved, but now that I noticed my urine today I am worried could it be discharge? STD.
Avatar n tn I usually use 250 mg of Cipro for a 60-70 pound dog. However, the side effects of the Cipro should have subsided by now. Since the problem with your dog began as a vomiting issue did any of the vets discuss performing endoscopy, a barium study, or special dietary regiman? Did they discuss the possibility of food allergy gastritis? Did they mention giving your dog a medication called Celexa or Reglan, (or other medication that are anti-nausea and vomiting) medications?
Avatar m tn Hi. I've just got the results and guess what: no gonorrhea, no chlamydia, no sifilis or whatever. There's a brazilian website that explain EVERYTHING about the tests and I've read it (like I did for other tests + doctor's visit). I'll talk to my doctor next saturday but already checked as I said. That's the third time! The question is: the only thing detected (by urethral swab) is staphylacoccus aureus. What is it?? Is it a STD??
Avatar f tn What is the website online i can visit and still see the forums and add pics to my profile?
294817 tn?1263836838 LOL! Don't worry, I put in what my due date would be if I was preggers on one website. Everyone there knows I haven't gotten my BFP yet, but I just wanted to input my data! *SIGH* I did this last time I thought I was preggo and I took it off after AF arrived.
Avatar m tn Doctor prescribed ten day regimen of cipro because he didn't know what else to do I think. He referred me to a urologist in case the cipro doesn't clear it up.
Avatar m tn I took Cipro for 14 days (prior to testing)12 days post exposure and have read on CDC and Mayo Clinic website that Chemo therapy drugs (cipro is also a chemo drug) can cause false negative HIV results and can also delay symptoms of syphillis. It's been almost 4 months since this happened and I'm not getting any better.
Avatar m tn I intend to see a health professional who will probably either test me or tell me to wait until off the Cipro. I will then get tested as soon as the cipro clears out and find a way to get my gf tested, hopefully without ruining my relationship. Is there anyway, since my tests will likely be negative that I could tell her to get tested because it was possible I had a nonsexually transmitted NGU or something and I want her to be on the safe side?
Avatar m tn I took a 500 mg pill of cipro about two days after the incident. I live in California and in the Bay Area, I have heard that it is not not to effective against gonnorhea. From reading one of Dr. HH's post, a throat culture is not that realible of detecting gonnorhea of the throat. I have also read that saliva makes it hard to transmitt gonnorhea via oral, but it does happen.
Avatar m tn ve taken cipro from 7-14 days and even IV cipro for an infection. can you get a terrible lung infection and worsening of asthma?
