Went to clinic and doctor tested for Chlamydia, Gonnorea and found -ve. Was on Cipro and Doxycycline for about 10 days. He mentioned it was inflammed prostrate The issues disappeared by 10 days. No issues in terms of urination etc and no burning sensation. Took a 4-5 day break due to travel and soon the urination issue reappeared (frequent urination and burning sensation at the tip of penis). Had to continue Doxy for about 2 more weeks and Cipro for 5 days.

I was treated with Cipro for 14 days. I also self treated with 1g Zithro. Symptoms got significantly better after 4 days of cipro. If my Epid. was the result of chlam or gon the Zithro should have cured anything in the urethra. Several weeks later I feel the epid. coming back. My question is this. IF the epid was caused by STI and it was cleared in the urethra but not in the epididymis would a Gon/Chlam NAAT urine test show the bacteria from the epididymis?

Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Last October my doc put me on a 8-week course of Cipro, but even during those 8 weeks, I felt like I was having mild flare ups. Two days after ending the treatment, I had terrible recurrence -- the worst yet. I went on another 6 week course, and my next test showed no e.coli. But I had another terrible bout only a week later. That cycle has repeated itself a couple of times.
I had I went to see my general practitioner the next day who tested my urine with a dipstick and found a significant quantity of blood (eventhough none was visible in the sample) and signs of infection. She felt that it was a sure sign of a UTI and perscribed me with a 7 day couse of Cipro. The symptoms subsided, and a urine analysis was conducted on the 6th day with no evidence of blood or infection found by the lab.
Today I have started metronidazole 400 mg with cipro 500mg Bid to rule out any E.coli or Trichomoniasis related prostatitis.
IRight now no medical facility near by and have to wait for another 7 days to get expert medical help USG and tests etc.
Question:
The symptoms I have confuse me is it possible to have prostatitis 7 days post exposure?
Apart from been in Pain and discomfort I am freaking out.......
I might have a prostate issue and sent me home a 7-day course of Cipro. I have been taking the Cipro for 36 hours (3-500mg doses) and have not realized any symptomatic relief thus far.He said to come back next week if the symptoms don't get better and he will send to a lab for some testing (not an easy task here on the island).
My questions are as follows:
1) Might have any insight as what might be causing these symtpoms? Prostatis? Non-specific urhtetris,a bladder infection, an STD? .
I took the Flagyl first- when I came off of it I felt just OK for a few days, then all my original symptoms came right back. Same with the Cipro, after it cleared my system the bloating came back and so did the watery diarrhea.
When I returned to the west coast I saw a doctor new my home who took some lab results and set me up for a return visit. To say the least- he had no idea. He lost my chart info and thought I was there as a first time patient for a physical.

There are a number of reasons that you should be having no concern whatsoever about having gonorrhea of the throat. First, gonorrhea in men is uncommon without symptoms. If your partner 1.5 yr ago had it, you probably would have noticed the pus dripping from his penis. Second, oral gonorrhea is uncommon in women, which is why Planned Parenthood doesn't usually test for it. Third, oral gonorrhea clears up on its own within 3 months, even without treatment.
t go to visit a Chinese doc because I will need to include a co-worker for translation. However, I do suffer from diverticulitis occasionally and I travel with prescriptions of Cipro 500mg and Flagyl. I started taking both 2 days ago. Not sure if there is any improvement, but I think so.
OK, so I am stupid obviously, but I have researched some and know that a one time 500mg dose of Cipro was a treatment option for gonorrhea up until about 5 years ago, and now it has become resistant.
I did go on a self administered dose of acyclovir in 24 hours after sex and was taking cipro, however this could be herpes, but I have no lesions. Is it possible I killed the herpes virus before it started and what can this be symptoms of. I also am feeling swollen inguinal lymph nodes. This girl still claims she gave me nothing. Please help me!
3 weeks ago I was prescribed Ciproflaxcin for a prostatsis, I took the Cipro for about a week and a half when I about 5 days into the prescription I began to experience major burning pain in my muscles, joints, and neck. After day 9 the pain was unbearable so I stopped and three days later went to the ER for treatment, I told them I had a bad reaction to the Cipro so they changed my prescription to Bactrim which almost immediately dropped my pain level from a level of 8 to a 2 on a 1-10 scale.
