2/7/09 Dr says it's Prostatitis. Have taken three 500mg. Overnight, severe facial swelling occurs BUT only above decaying right incisor tooth. Slight indication of infection/soreness at incisor site prior to cipro. Docs not back till tomorrow, do I not ingest todays dosage?
Hi...I had a questionable sexual encounter about 16 weeks ago and I'm still experiencing symptoms.
I have been tested for HIV, HSV, Syphillis, Hep, chlamydia, gonnorhea several times. My last serology tests were 14 weeks post encounter and everything was negative.
The Urologist diagnosed me with prostatitis - I have a "boggy" prostate, intermittent pain at tip of penis and clear, sticky discharge. He prescribed 3 months of cipro, 500mg twice per day.
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness?

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
Almost overnight I developed loose, sagging skin over my abdomen area similar to someone who may have lost weight. I have very strong abs underneath this layer of loose skin. No amount of exercise could possibly get rid of it?? I'm 55 and post menopausal. This is very distressing for me. Do I just accept as an aging process. Anyone else experiencing a similar issue.

I put some antibacterial cream on my foreskin to see if that would help. About 2 days later, i started to form a few blisters (but they werent really puss filled), just blisters that kind of rubbed off so to speak. Afterwards, my left foreskin began to swell quite a bit and i had difficulty retracting the foreskin back on that side.
Again, urine sample was negative for bacteria, but extremely high for white blood cells. Doctor put me on a month of Cipro. Cipro seemed to work for the first day, as I felt much better the following day. A few days later, had sex with the boyfriend again and symptoms returned with a vengeance. The main symptom was again an intense burning/stinging in the urethra and vulva area. Doctor switched me to Suprax which did nothing.
I usually use 250 mg of Cipro for a 60-70 pound dog. However, the side effects of the Cipro should have subsided by now.
Since the problem with your dog began as a vomiting issue did any of the vets discuss performing endoscopy, a barium study, or special dietary regiman? Did they discuss the possibility of food allergy gastritis? Did they mention giving your dog a medication called Celexa or Reglan, (or other medication that are anti-nausea and vomiting) medications?

3 weeks ago I was prescribed Ciproflaxcin for a prostatsis, I took the Cipro for about a week and a half when I about 5 days into the prescription I began to experience major burning pain in my muscles, joints, and neck. After day 9 the pain was unbearable so I stopped and three days later went to the ER for treatment, I told them I had a bad reaction to the Cipro so they changed my prescription to Bactrim which almost immediately dropped my pain level from a level of 8 to a 2 on a 1-10 scale.
If someone has a history of UTI's and has no health insurance, why won't a doctor give a patient a refill? Why do I have to pay anywhere between $100 - $200 to go to the bathroom in a cup to confirm what I already know is true because I have had UTI's many times before. At a desperate attempt, I brought all the empty bottles of cipro and other drugs prescribed for my past UTI's to show that this wasn't something I was making up. I hoped the Dr.
For two days i took some Keflex twice a day that I had left over. It wasnt helping , I found a bottle of cipro I had left over and I took one. Thats it. A few days ago my boyfriend starts having symptoms of chlamydia or gonnerea ureathra hurting, discharge etc. I have no symptoms. We have only slept together once in the last couple weeks. Anyways, I went and got tested and I have bacterial vaginosis. I have not been with anybody but him.
I was given Cipro for possible salmonella, and am concerned about all of the side effects I have been reading about. Is this a safe drug? I woke up with anxiety and some stiffness this morning, and am scared it's going to get worse. Please help.

Went back to the clinic and had another swab test done. This time I had it done in the morning after holding urine overnight. Again, results were completely clear.
It has been almost 10 weeks now and I am still experiencing these symptoms. I am very worried now that I may have a prostate infection or epididymitis caused by bacteria that are found in the anus. What should I now do from here. Have not had prostate checked.
Hey I'm 38 weeks and 6 days I have 9 days to go until my due date and I need to know what to pack for my overnight bag mine and the baby's. So far I only have clothes and blankets in the diaper bag but have no idea what to pack for my overnight bag??
This has been one crazy day. Got a call this morning from the doctor office saying my fluids are low and I need to go to the hospital today for a non stress test and my induction will be next Tuesday May 5th. Get to the hospital having horrible contractions and progressing. Last check I was 4 1/2cm and these contractions are the devil right now!! They tried to stop them with fluids but they wouldn't stop so I'm being kept overnight.
Lol yesterday. I woke up and my mom was like "did your belly blow up overnight?" But I've been feeling pregnant since the back pain kicked in...
