I have seen a doctor about this twice and was on cipro for a month and doxycycline for a month (cipro in March, doxy in May), neither of which have cured the problem (my symptoms are minor now, but still present). Also, while on cipro, I developed a white coating on my tongue that really hasn't gone away since. It just seems whiter than usual and brushing doesn't wipe it out entirely (worried it could be thrush?).
I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?

I went back in and told the doctor, he was puzzled, told me to keep taking the cipro as maybe it was about to get worse anyway. The cipro is making me feel sick and exhausted and makes what I'm taking it for worse, so I'm not too thrilled.
Any ideas? Google has made me terrified of either IC or a tumor or cancer an I would love some reassurance that it might not be something awful.

s wise to always follow up antibiotics with probiotics to reestablish some of the good bacteria for a happy, healthy balance! Your best course of action would be a probiotic supplement containing multiple strains, a prebiotic to provide fuel for the good bacteria to get an extra boost, and digestive enzymes (protease, amylase, and lipase) with meals if you need any relief from indigestion. These won't hurt you any.

I would make sure that the CAT scan included the pelvis down through the level of your rectum and I would suggest a culture of your semen as well as an evaluation of your blood clotting mechanism (blood test).
If nothing is found, there is nothing to do except see if it stops and get re-examined in 6 months. I do not see how age figures into it.

The therapeutic mechanisms of ribavirin for hepatitis C are unclear. Microarray analyses have shown that ribavirin increases induction of interferon-stimulated genes. We evaluated viral kinetics, serum cytokine expression, and viral mutagenesis during early stages of peginterferon therapy with and without ribavirin.
I was having some stomach irritation and loose stool, and after consuming some lactose and fructose heavy food at a conference, my bloating returned and my IBS was worse than it was prior to the antibiotics. I then took a course of Cipro, 100 mg twice daily for a week. I also took Xifaxan simultaneously for the IBS 500 mg 3 times daily for 10 days. The Cipro seemed to help the joint pain but the two compounded the GI symptoms.
Three months later I had acute prostitutes. Cipro therapy seemed to stop symptoms. Now three months more lately my PSA is 7.8! I am on Cipro again and will get a PSA in three weeks. If I am elevated my urologist will probably want to do another biopsy. What is the likely diagnosis? Am I just having recurring prostitutes? What is the likelihood of Prostate Cancer with a normal biopsy a year ago and intermittent high and normal PSA?
