Avatar n tn the easiest and most efficient way for you to do this is to google out Sotalol ingredients and the manufacturer info will pop up and should give you the reading of what to avoid in the way of drug interaction no no's. Also just remember not to take anything that ends w. "phrene" etc. that could be an amp that could definately interfere w. your heart rate and send it pounding out of control.
Avatar m tn Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Avatar f tn Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives. From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Avatar m tn Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.

That means the maker of the original drug continues to be the sole source of the drug until the agreement expires.

Avatar m tn 3 weeks ago I was prescribed Ciproflaxcin for a prostatsis, I took the Cipro for about a week and a half when I about 5 days into the prescription I began to experience major burning pain in my muscles, joints, and neck. After day 9 the pain was unbearable so I stopped and three days later went to the ER for treatment, I told them I had a bad reaction to the Cipro so they changed my prescription to Bactrim which almost immediately dropped my pain level from a level of 8 to a 2 on a 1-10 scale.
Avatar n tn If someone has a history of UTI's and has no health insurance, why won't a doctor give a patient a refill? Why do I have to pay anywhere between $100 - $200 to go to the bathroom in a cup to confirm what I already know is true because I have had UTI's many times before. At a desperate attempt, I brought all the empty bottles of cipro and other drugs prescribed for my past UTI's to show that this wasn't something I was making up. I hoped the Dr.

Avatar n tn Can changing the manufacturer on your medicine cause them to lose effectiveness or how they are making you feel? Our insurance changed, and when it did I had to go to mail order meds. Since I've had to change, I have been struggling with my moods like I did before medication. (not quite as severe, but it's been a few years since my moods have taken such a severe dive) Any advice or thoughts would be so welcomed. I cannot handle feeling like this much longer.............
Avatar f tn I have been with the same manufacturer of metoprolol succinate for 2 years and had no problems and now they went out of business and the new manufacturer of the same medication isn't working for me!
Avatar n tn Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is an antibiotic in a group of drugs called fluoroquinolones (flor-o-KWIN-o-lones). It is used to fight bacteria in the body. Cipro is used to treat different types of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure. Cipro may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. I just took that off the Web, under a search of 'cipro'. Don't know if this is helpful, but that's the best I can do.
Avatar n tn It is now about a year later, and I am having pain in my left testicle again. I do not have health insurance and got a friend to prescribe Cipro for me to clear up my infection. After reading the new black box warning on Cipro I am very nervous and reluctant to take it, mainly because of the reports of sudden tendon rupture. I started taking Cipro a week ago. 6/5/09. I noticed my energy to be low and my joint and tendons to be stiff and sore.
