738333 tn?1232967475 coli infection i am always on antibitotics cause the infection seems to come back are these uti kidneys infections caused By e.coli can any one give advice ??????????
Avatar n tn Is there any reason that I should take another round of Cipro since I only took 5 days and rbc went from 3+ to 1+ with Cipro dose for 5 days? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I had a mild UTI at the end of December and went to the doctor for antibiotics because my kidneys felt tender. They never really hurt, but I could feel them as if they were slightly swollen. The doctor tested by urine and my blood and gave me an injection of penicillin and 7 days of cipro. The UTI symptoms (burning, bloating, etc.) went away immediately and have not returned. However, my kidneys were still tender even after finishing the antibiotics.
Avatar m tn Regarding the urinary tract infection It sounds like the organism causing the problem is getting resistant to the drug Cipro and you may need a new prescription. Also, Cipro may be causing you to throw up. it is possible you have a kidney infection still and it is causing pain that is radiating to the front.
Avatar f tn he gave me cipro said i had blatter in this was on Monday. it was for 3 days 500 mg 2 times day. by Thur it was gone Today i get up feels liek same thing. I go back to dr no inf in my out put. so he sent off culture wont here for few days . If you have had this let me know what you found out.
1442701 tn?1286383987 I thought that maybe I had pulled a muscle in my back even though I didn't even throw the ball that many to times since my lower left side of my back had been hurting. Felt like labor pains Monday night it hurt so bad. On Cipro now. I just wondered if anyone else has unexpected kidney infections too.
Avatar n tn most commonly the bladder also possible the urethea or kidneys..all is treatable usually with Cipro and special pain pills that will dye you urine..you will only need the pain medication for two days...
Avatar f tn In 2017 had some frequency and pressure for a few weeks and then episode of gross hematuria. Put on Cipro. Symptoms cleared right up. Culture was not done. Saw urologist. Cysto and CT w/o contrast done. Negative. Over the 2.5 years had irritative symptoms on and off with microscopic blood. Cultures negative. Urologist said IC. 5 months ago had a couple days of slight burning then episode of gross hematuria. Put on Cipro but culture came back negative.
Avatar n tn (1) First time : I had 102 fever, white cells and blood in the urine (the urine was dark brown in color). Also bacteria in the urine. A full urine test analisys was done including culture. The culture showed 55,000 count/ml for E-coli. I had 1 week of Cipro. (2) Just 1 week later part of the symptoms came back : urge to go, uncomfort and some ich and pain down there. There was no fever this time.
Avatar f tn I have had chronic bladder infections for years and have seen several different Urologists some in single practice, some in large practices with multiple doctors and even at large medical centers like the Cleveland Clinic and U of M Medical Center. I have brought in multiple urine samples which were tested then sent away for testing. They always come back showing bacteria. I've taken enough antibiotics to become allergic to Sulfa, Bactrum,Cipro and Tetracycline.
Avatar n tn Blood throughout urination is most likely from the bladder or kidneys or ureters (the tubes connecting the kidneys and the bladder). Diagnostic tests that may be performed include Urinalysis, Urine culture, X-rays of the kidneys, Cystoscopy, IVP, Abdominal ultrasound and CT scan of the abdomen. I suggest you to get an examination done from a urologist.
Avatar n tn (I was given a course of cipro without my Naturopathic Doc doing a urinalysis because I was going out of town the day after my symptoms began). I took the cipro (it was a short dose- 3 days, taken 2 times per day), and started to feel better. Then about a week later symptoms came back, tried to treat it naturally and then decided to try the cipro again. After this something still didn't feel right and I suggested a kidney infection as I had started having some back pain.
Avatar f tn i am glad for you that your kidneys r getting better (:. I was shocked because I have never in my life had any problems with kidneys or kidney infections. Also this happened so fast, no warnings , although i did feel a little extra fatigued that week and had JUST been to family doc, and told her that i had a feeling i had some sort of infection going on, because i got these clear fluid sores all over my head face, and right arm and chest and they would not heal.
Avatar m tn In the meantime, i took azrithromyocin 1gm, next day, flagyl, then a 2 week dose of doxycycline and one cipro pill. My doc wanted to cover all my bases in case it was an NGU. I still have the mild irritation and rarely have mild relief at times. No pain with urination or palpation. Had prostate checked for prostatitis, no uti either. My question is, what is it?? Can it possibly be some kind of yeast? Seems like i have been tested for all else with urinalysis and blood tests.
Avatar f tn They then said i had a yeast infection from medication. and put me on Cipro, and still had pain.. so then they put me on for a irriated urtheia (sorry my spelling isn't to great) I was on this for 2x a day for 30 days. Again i started to feel better, then a week later.. I had the burning/soreness back and the urologist put me on Cipro again. This has been going on for 8months and now the dr just throws cipro at me.
422425 tn?1307992990 Interstitial nephritis is a type of inflammation in the kidneys affecting the interstitium of the kidneys. 378497 tn?1232143585 Have you taken cipro before? perhaps you should contact your doctor and change to a different antibiotic.... just a thought if the Cipro is causing you problems. I'm glad you made the sensible choice in your two options!
Avatar m tn Levaquin is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, sinuses, kidneys, bladder, or prostate. Levaquin is also used to treat bacterial infections that cause bronchitis or pneumonia. Hope this is helpful. Sorry I'm tardy with my response.
Avatar n tn I am a 36 year old female. I voided pure blood and blood clots with no other symptoms. I had a partial hysterectomy 2 years ago. I had the top of my uterus removed. Went to ER. Ultrasound showed shadowing in the bladder which indicated debris. Cathed urine was grossly bloody. I was sent home with Cipro and Pyridium. My urine culture had no growth. My UR protein was >300 and Ur blood large. Ur leukocytge est and ur micro hpf was also high. My white cell count was 13 and mpv 7.1.
Avatar f tn The infection was still there so they gave me five days of Cipro and changed the stomach acid med. The bloodwork and xrays came back normal and they referred me for an ultrasound which who knows how long that will be! (I live in Canada) Now I'm finished the Cipro and still have all the same problems. So my question is: Is it OK to keep taking antibiotics if there not working? Should 2 courses of antibiotics fix an infection?
Avatar n tn I had I went to see my general practitioner the next day who tested my urine with a dipstick and found a significant quantity of blood (eventhough none was visible in the sample) and signs of infection. She felt that it was a sure sign of a UTI and perscribed me with a 7 day couse of Cipro. The symptoms subsided, and a urine analysis was conducted on the 6th day with no evidence of blood or infection found by the lab.
Avatar f tn I was checked just last week and was clear for bladder infection. so I m thinking yeast infection,. Been on cipro. But yeast medicine not helping and it feels to swollen to use applicator for yeast treatment. Extremely painful. I can't even get the applicator in. I am through with breast cancer treatment. Finished in October 2006. Finished radiation January 2007. Been on tamoxefin. I am a two year survivor of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Stage IIIA. someone please help me out here.
Avatar n tn I was recently within the last month diagnosed with a kidney stone that lead to a UTI. I finished a 7 day treatment of cipro yesterday and the UTI symptons went away, but my both my sides still hurt randomly from time to time. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn thanks i will mention 2 ob cipro ,somethings gotta heal this b4 i go crazy !
1855970 tn?1325823613 Since you now have pain in your back the infection could have moved into your kidneys. At that point only antibiotics like Cipro or Bactrum will help. I get recurrent UTIs and know the pain well. Get some AZO Standard or Maximum Strength for the pain. It is available over the counter and runs $8-$10. It will discolor your urine but the relief is amazing. But still - go to a doctor or urgent care clinic soon!!
212275 tn?1219018103 lower back pain 4 week's in peg and ribo, had chest cold think it went to my kidneys dr put me on cipro helped a little, drinking 8-9 bottles of water a day anyone else have anything like this btw im donna and i started tx 4 weeks 2 days ago
Avatar m tn I am a male 47 and have had 2 UTIs this year, one in the spring and one at the end of November. The last UTI I was on Cipro for 7 days and had some blood in my urine, White particals or stringy pieces with even thinner strings on them, like tenticles, and red fleshy peices. I got blood work/urine analasis work done and was diagnosed with a bacterial infection by the emerg doctor and he dimissed the flakes as part of the infection.
