cipro

Avatar m tn ve taken cipro from 7-14 days and even IV cipro for an infection. can you get a terrible lung infection and worsening of asthma?
Avatar m tn Went to ER for the pain, got IV gentymiasin and IV cipro and started oral cipro. Saw urologist. Ultrasound showed fluid collection. Since then I’ve been back to the ER for more IV antibiotics (this time they gave me rosyphilin??); and I continue to suffer. And so now have had two different IV antibiotic occasions, and 10 days of cipro, followed by 9 days of septra ds, followed by a few days of keflex, and I was switched to levoquin? (something like that).
1726450 tn?1316282511 Here at the transplant center they give us Cipro during hepatitis C treatment to prevent infections. I tool it for months. Seemed to work. No infections.
Avatar m tn I now also have burning/freezing pain in both legs that is sometimes unbearable (especially at nights) and body-wide twitching 1- I have read that Cipro can have peripheral neuropathy, panic attacks and twitching as side effect that can start (or go on) even months after discontinuation of medication. I know this is more common with the oral/IV Cipro but I may have used the CiproDex for longer duration that was prescribed. I believe that I was misdiagnosed with anxiety and hyperthyroidism.
Avatar f tn Was recently hospitalized for crohn's flare for 4 days. Given cipro and flagyl via IV and steroid shots via IV. A week later home taking cipro and prednizone orally. Many side effects? Feel worse now than before? What are the best meds to quiet the inflamation and stomach swelling? This is all new to me and feeling overwhelmed. What about anit-anxiety meds, depression? Help!
Avatar m tn And for myself do you think those test results were conclusive? Iv been on Cipro could that have effected the results at all?
Avatar m tn my son had an emergency appendectomy that had burst and they had to remove some of his colon. He is 27 years old and they had him in the hospital for four days administered iv antibiotics but did not send him home with any oral antibiotics He was back in the hosptial because of an infection in his abdominal cavity...no big abcesses, he has now been in the hospital for five days and has received flagyl, levoflaxin(?), and two days of cipro anitbiotics intravenously.
Avatar n tn Hi, I used to get hospitalized for epididymitis and got an IV antibiotics when Cipro would usually not get the infections under control. I think that one of them started with Retro. The rest I don't remember. Usually after about a week things started to get better. Later on I used to get orchitis and required hospital stays as well. I used to get it about every 3 or 4 months. After a vasectomy I no longer get it.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you had some kind of infection going on...and since you had an ablation in your uterus AND a D&C, that is most likely the source of the infection. From what you describe, I'd be more inclined to think your bad symptoms came more from your beingj so ill and not the Doxycycline...thought any medication you take can give you side effects...and yes, even the Cipro. If it was me...I'd take that Cipro just like it was ordered and til it was gone...or you can end up in ICU.
1168718 tn?1464983535 and pharmacist are debating on drugs now, he wanted to put me back on cipro , but last time is really caused alot of pain going down the stairs in the achilles tendon. I know that could be a permanent side effect of the Cipro, so we want to try something else. This seems to the to Tetracycline, Cephalox , ( or something like that) ... so, after they work it out, I will be on something.
Avatar n tn 9/4/12 - call Dr. with severe UTI; begin Cipro 9/7/12 - call Dr. -no improvement; kidneys now involved; pain & fever increasing; sent to ER for IV antibiotic Roseffrin (sp?) IV; f/u injection next day; marked improvement in kidneys; bladder less so; sent home on Doxycycline for 14 days; not much improvement 10/1/12 - UA =K. pneumoniae >100,000CFU/mL 10/3/12 - DO prescribed Cefuroxime, 500mg/BID 10/8/12 - feeling worse; achy, constant 99.5-8 temp; call Dr.
Avatar n tn I tried to treat it myself with Imodium for the first week. After that I went to the clinic and was given IV fluids IV meds and Rx’s to fill and take for 5 days (they didn’t do any testing they just treated me for what was the most common cause for the location) after another week I was back at the clinic because what they gave me didn’t work. The only think that stopped my diarrhea was to stop eating and drinking – nothing in – nothing out.
Avatar m tn Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Avatar f tn Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
Avatar n tn I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face. I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Avatar n tn Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness? This discussion is related to Discomfort after taking Cipro.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives. From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Avatar m tn Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
Avatar n tn is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
620923 tn?1452915648 With the onset of this pain my Dr did labs and found trace blood in my urine and gave me cipro a few days later the pain increased and nothing I took OTC helped, I called and he said go 1 more week of increased water intake and the cipro...2 days later I was in the ER for the worst pain ever.....I had a US b4 the cipro I forgot to mention, no stones were seen, and in teh ER they said the infection was clear, and I had no stones, but did have some diverticulitis ....
Avatar m tn (sporadic sharp and dull pain, no other symptoms) I went to my GP and was diagnosed with a mild case of epididymitis and prescribed 500mg of cipro twice daily for seven days and 500 mg ibuprofin 2 times a day for 10 days. The pain subsided for two weeks and then returned. Went back to my GP and he prescribed me with 500mg cipro twice daily for 10 days. After a week without improvement I went to a Urologist. He confirmed epididymitis and instructed me to stop taking the cipro.
187666 tn?1331173345 They did a CT scan and said I had diverticulitis. What a nasty little surprise. They did an IV bag of Zosyn, sent me home finally with plenty of metronidazole (QID) and SulfaTrim (BID). The intense abdominal pains have eased but now I feel like I have the "stomach flu" - just cramps, gurgling, nausea and watery stools every hour or so. Is this part of the improvement and healing from diverticulitis or is it part of the meds?
428506 tn?1296557399 As crazy as it may sound, the toughest part ia tolerating an antibiotic they gave me to ward off infection. The brand name is cipro and when I take it I ache terribly all over and get a killer headache. All this despite being on strong (narcotic) pain killers. Surgery was no walk through the park but this proves to me just how awful it can be to live with and treat Lyme & co. Hope all are having a restful weekend!
Avatar n tn I was unable to get treatment for 5 weeks after intercourse and I now have prostatitis. I am being treated with 500mg of cipro, 2x daily for two weeks. One of my lingering symptoms is pain during urination. My urethra is irritated and it seems stretched out. When I have an erection, the tip of my penis (urethra) stetches open. Will this go away once my prostatitis goes away and I no longer have urethritis?
