I saw the doctor and they did an ultrasound and confirmed epididymitis... The doctor put me on Cipro 500 mg for 3 weeks and it does seem to be getting better... I have had no other symptoms at all, no discharge or painful urination at all... I also did have a vasectomy about 2 years ago and ever since my left testicle has been somewhat sensitive but not swollen like these epididymitis episodes...

This first consisted of a trip to the ER, where the ultrasound came up negative for torsion or masses, and the urinary analysis was fine. Thus, it was decided that I had epididymitis. The urologist prescribed 5 days of cipro, infection came back. Then 7 days of cipro, infection came back. Then 4 weeks of cipro, which I completed 4 days ago.

Developed a couple of instances of burning urine which foolishly ignored and later diagnosed with epididymitis by my GP after aching left testicle. Was presc Cipro for 11 days - 500mg twice daily. During cipro treatment i had an STD test done - swab, bloods and urine sample, all negative. I also waited approx 3 weeks after finishing cipro to be retested and again negative results.

The first issue is whether or not you have epididymitis. You don't really provide enough information for me to judge, but I am skeptical. Testicular pain alone isn't enough for the diagnosis, and pain involving both testicles is virtually never epididymitis -- which generally does not cause groin pain, by the way.

About 4 years ago after lifting a heavy item I had some left testicle pain that was diagnosed as epididymitis, the doctor at the time told me to take Advil and go easy for a while and it cleared up a few weeks later. 2 years ago I had left testicle pain, a different doctor did an ultrasound to check for a hernia and when it came back negative gave me the same advice and it cleared up in a few weeks.
Hello, I have had epididymitis for the past 7 months. I have tried 21 day course of cipro, 4 week course of doxycycline, a dose of azithromycin, 1 week course of bactrim. I am very young too (20 years old) and this condition is stopping me from doing daily tasks. I have trouble sitting. I have had ultrasound, blood test, urine test all negative but physical examination revealed epididymitis which was missed on the ultrasound. But the ultrasound did show increased vascularity in the epididymis.
They diagnosed me as having a bladder and testicle infection.I was given a prescription for Cipro and sent home.I have taken the cipro for four days and it has not helped at all.I think I am allergic to cipro because I have wicked abdominal cramps and some dizziness.The pain in the testicles is no better than it was 4 days ago.Cipro has not helped me at all.I called the doctors office and got his answering service.I asked to speak to the on call doctor.The on call doctor was my doctor!
23 Jun felt like I was getting blue balls/epididymitis and proceded to get painful hot and a little swollen in my testicles. Loaded up on 1g of cipro and took some naproxen, went back to the medic and started a doxy cycle to treat epididymitis and it feels like it's clearing up. I have been going through extreme anxiety over this, could this be exaserbating my symptoms?
I have had numerous bouts of epididymitis and orchitis at about every three to four months from about 1994 till about 2000. Having had Cipro work very well for several years, in 2000 I had a Strep B infection of the left testicle following complications from a vasectomy. I ended up loosing my left testicle to the infection and nearly died. The ended up removing the testicle and surrounding tissue leaving the left scrotum open to heal from the inside out.
I know how you feel bro... I've been dealing with this for almost 2 months. On March 1st I woke up with pain in my lower abdomen. At first I thought I just strained myself because I had been doing some heavy lifting the day before. Within a day or so my left testicle felt like either somebody gave me a good boot or somebody was squeezing it. I put up with it for a week and ended up going into the doc.
I had epididymitis symptoms 15 Aug got diagnosed 20 Aug was given by the doctor Cipro for 10 days with anti inflammation medicines & another 10 days of Cipro during the follow up. It seems there is a loss of sensation & libido on my part. I went to a Urologist gave me Cefixime 400 for 5 days & serodase which helps for clearing & healing the internal lesions...I havent masturbated since August. It seems my Sperm isnt getting replenished? Is it normal?..
As you are being treated for epididymitis you have to take some rest and antibiotics properly for a week and then you can always exercise and there are many other options of antibiotics and you can change to any other antibiotic as work outs are your passion.
Discuss with your physician to change from Ciprofloxacillin.
Do not lift weight and use proper foot wear, do not aggravate your back problem.

It was very slight and only noticeable from time to time throughout the day. I went to my PC doc and he said I probably have a slight case of epididymitis. He prescribed Cipro, bid for 10 days. Before I began the antibiotic treatment I was tested for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphillis, HIV, Herpes and Hepatitis, all of which came back negative. The pain in my testicles still has not completely gone away. It is not a constant pain, but I can still feel it from time to time.
So GP said i have a mild case of epididymitis and gave me an anti-inflammatory and some cipro just in case. He said I was beating myself up bad with anxiety and needed to relax - he said in his opinion I didnt have to worry about herpes.

2/20 retested (4 days after completing cipro) for Gonorrhea and chlamydia (requested trich and NGU) they could do trich from one swap and didn't tell me about NGU... Came back negative. The GP didn't see any lesions to raise concerns and the ultrasound didn't alarm him.
I started to get pain in early January this year me being me I left it until my testics were to sore and wer slowing me down I also found lumps by the epiddimis I've been given a course of antibiotics biotics it's not so bad now but the pain is dull and achy and comes and goes almost finished my course of antibiotics it has a tendency to come back every now and again so im told by the docz I wouldn't worry to much just don't masterbate or make love to your misses as it can cause
