I now have been taking antibiotics for about a month, about 10 days of keflex with a 5 day break, 10 days of cipro, and 3 days break before another 10 days of cipro. Am now taking a 10 day round of both clindamycin and bactrum to treat it. Thing is, blood work I had 5 days ago when I got started taking my clindamycin and bactrum now shows that I have no signs of infection in my blood, from CBC to my C-Protein.
By Monday the pain was worse, she couldn’t swallow, the cheek was bigger and she’d developed cellulitis so we went to the ED. They admitted her and on Tuesday they did another I&D and extracted 2 more teeth. They put a drain in as well. Friday her cheek was bigger than when she was admitted and was draining copious amounts of pus. On Friday the cultures came back as well and they put her on Vanco and Cipro. She had been on Clindamycin since admission.
My husband has been gone for 6 months. When he got back we had sex. It hurt and burned everytime. Is it normal for it to hurt after only 6 months? I did notice a swelling that felt like I was sitting on a golf ball. Anyone have any ideas?
he then performs his exam and quickly says you have cellulitis. Gave me Cipro and a fungal cream. For my peace of mind, he ordered a routine Mammogram and chest Xray. After voicing my concerns at the imaging office, they changed the order with the Drs. permission to a Diagnostic mammogram, plus an Ultrasound. Both tests show NO abnormalities. I've read online that Mammograms and Ultrasounds missed Cancer in about 10% of patients.
I was thinking that #13 had at least two canals and hopefully no small root trails that I know are hard to find. This tooth has been sensitive for some years. It has gotten a little worse with some tenderness in my cheek so I had it xrayed. There was sign of infection around the whole root. Today, one day after my root canal, I feel more pain, some throbbing, and more swelling then I had before the root canal yesterday. Should I be alarmed? Will waiting through the weekend be safe?
Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's Cellulitis. So you know, this is the adult Diabetes II forum. Your post really belongs in the Dermatology forum since Cellulitis is a skin related disease more so than Diabetes glucose/insulin related.
Is your husband hospitalized? To my understanding Cellulitis treatment may require hospitalization if it is severe enough to warrant intravenous antibiotics and close observation by doctors. Body and/or muscle aches are part of the symptoms.
I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years now, and I have had cellulitis for about 6 yrs. I must be on antibiotics as well as steroid creams, and it comes & goes. However the last bout I had lasted 9 months. My doctor did not say if this was caused by the fibromyalgia, but he did say it was caused by an infection.
s friends, it seemed fine and then two days later started getting really bad, well an iv for seven days later... Turns out I got cellulitis. I thought it was a fluke so I got another one done by him and same thing. After that I haven't had anything for a few years. Now bring to last year... I popped a pimple and ended up with cellulitis really bad on my face... Which happened two more times after that.
Afternoon. I have had cellulitis in my nose for over a month.... took Bactrim, Clindamycin, and another 5 days of Bactrim.. which didn't help in the first place... but... i have this swollen membrane (i guess) from the tip of my nose about 1/2 inch back... it always feels like it is going to swell up again.... with no insurance another 125.00 is not what I want to pay since it seems like none of that helped anyway... anybody have any thoughts on this one???

That liquid like ball is edema and depending on how large it is and that it is on the throat, a drain my be necessary. As for the Cipro....there are some very serious risk factors. If your pet has any of the MANY risk factors, giving Cipro can be deadly to your dog. If your pet is under 2 years old (assuming by the weight he is a medium or large breed)....do NOT under any circumstance give Cipro.
Please please take your dog to the vet so he is properly treated in a safe and humane way.
As far as I have heard, "puppy strangles" or Juvenile Cellulitis, only occurs in puppies, and is rare in adult dogs. It is curable and a puppy can recover well with no long term ill effects.

I had prostatitis about 4 years ago. After taking Cipro and Levaquin for about two months, it finally went away. I was fine until just recently when similar symptoms came back. They are much more milder than before, but still bothersome. Primary physician did urinalysis and DRE, and said everything seemed OK, but I could see a urologist if it was still bothering me.
Went to urologist, and he said stream good, but trace blood in urine.
Saw my doctor because terrible irritation in penis tip, sore testicles and having to urinate all night. No burning when I pee or discharge but significant pain at tip. Doctor did first catch urine test; neg for leuk & nitrates, said it could be prostatis so he gave me 7 days of Cipro. Had a minor surgery a few days later so did not take it. The next week it got even worse, so went to urologist. Same symptoms but worse. Dr. asked if it could be std, I told him I doubt it...
