I was given Cipro for possible salmonella, and am concerned about all of the side effects I have been reading about. Is this a safe drug? I woke up with anxiety and some stiffness this morning, and am scared it's going to get worse. Please help.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
i was about to be cured from Gonorrhea but i skip some dosage of cephalexin, my problem now is i need to switch to CIPROFLOXACIN but i found out that it wasn't working for me some how im one of those patient's who were resistant to it according to the UPDATES on GONORRHEA RESISTANCE... should i go back to cephalexin? my dosage before was 500mg 3x a day...

t been able to confirm. As a result, I went to a pharmacy and got a 10-pack of 500mg Cipro and a 3 pack of 500mg Zipro. I took 1000mg of Cipro and 1000mg of Zipro yesterday and another 500mg of each today. Have a I taken enough of these drugs to kill both bacterial infections, and if so, how long should it take to clear up an infection if I do indeed have one?
They prescribed Cipro on the basis that there were some traces of Bacteria. I am almost done with the Cipro dosage (7 days) and also have been drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice. No relief at all. Is there something else that could be causing this? What should I look to do (or have checked) next? Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Thats why initially I thought it was possibly a UTI, but with the discharge I was leaning more towards an STD. Maybe I didn't take the Cipro long enough. I took the dosage (2 a day) for 10 days (2 packs).
I am currently in Ghana and the have yet to find a clinic that does same day STD test. I waited 5 hours to even meet the doctor for my consultation.
I just don't want to risk whatever I have getting worse.
After two days the discharge lost its yellow, thick state to a more clear and watery fluid. I am now on my 6th Cipro 500mg, but I woke up this morning, only to see a cloudy fluid again. I am also feeling a slight burning after urination. Is it that the bacterium has become immune to the drug? Will I need to get more Cipro or another drug to combat this infection? Since Cipro is a broad spectrum drug, if the bacterium becomes immune to it, can it still be cured? What are your suggestions?
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
I DEVELOPED PNEUMONIA IN MARCH, ABOUT THE TIME THAT I SWITCHED FROM NATURE -THROID TO ARMOUR. CEPHALEXIN DIDN'T WORK, CIPRO WAS NEXT FOR THE USUAL COURSE. DIDN'T WORK SO ZITHROMAX WAS THE LAST AND WAS MORE EFFECTIVE.
ABOUT THE SAME TIME MY ARRYTHMIAS( PVCS AND PACS) BECAME MORE PROMINENT AND AT TIMES MY HEART RATE WAS AS LOW AS 33.

hominis infection and to be sure that I did not have trich still left inside of me prescribe that dosage of flagyl. I also got a second swab when I went in again for the cramps, and they did not find trich. The cramping went away for a little while, and last month they came back. I did not know what it could have been until I started to have a lower back pain. I am prone to UTIs and figured I had the classic sign. I went to the ER and was given Macrobid, but that still did not work.
I have been dealing with symptoms of some type of NGU or bacterial infection (mucus in urine and redness and inflammation at tip of penis) for over 2 months now. I've been prescribed azithro, cipro, sepra, doxy twice, anti fungal, and 2 other single dosage antibiotics i don't remember the name of. I've also been tested for chlam/gonn 4 times all negative. over the last couple of days I've started to notice a lot of mucus in my stool.

My Dermatologist did a nose swab, and the results came back as psudomonas, and I completed a dosage of Cipro, and used neosporin in the nostrils.
One of the bolis has come back however, approximately as big as a fingertip, and is somewhat painful. I went back and had a culture of the actual infection taken (results unknown), but as the doctor said the drainage was just blood, that I am probably dealing with a cyst that may need to be removed.
Slight indication of infection/soreness at incisor site prior to cipro. Docs not back till tomorrow, do I not ingest todays dosage?

Eveery doctor I have met -from urologists to derms to general physicians havent found anything specifically wrong in me...I did go thru a long dosage of antibiotics -doxy and cipro for about 4-5 weeks in Jan...urologists felt it was prostatitis though the tests didnt show bacteria.
my CBC has been okay too...overall doctors do not suspect anything - but not sure why i have been having so many varied symptoms.
