Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness? This discussion is related to Discomfort after taking Cipro.

Sounds like it could be an infection of some sort... and popping cipro could make it worse depending on how old it is and what it was prescribed for.

9 weeks ago i had unprotected oral sex at the 6th week i devloped a fever of about 101 and i had night sweats and headaches after that i started vomiting i went to the doctor and he gave me cipro when i started taking cipro a rash appeared on both of my elbows i also have alot of itchness around my body when the elbow rash appeared i developed a sore throught how does a rash look like and where does it appear

I had a colonoscopy and the indicated I had diverticulosis one lower part of my large intestine..Then 6 mos. later I became nauseated.following diarrhea and vomiting.. Doctor put me on Cipro and Flagyl. The antibiotics cleaned my good bacteria also..I developed. C-diff 3 days later..I ended up in ER ..assumed I had ulcerative colitis..Staff at the hospital kept me so doped up on pain killers..I didn't know which end was up..

I was able to make it through a Doctor visit and taken OFF Cipro (which was free at Publix) and put on a stronger Keflex type drug that was $226.26 with a $25.00 coupon. This one has very few side effects and I've always been okay with Keflex. Thanks for the help!

And it is essential to complete the full course or stop only under the advice of the doctor. May be your infection, that caused you diarehhea and vomiting in the first place is still there and the doctor may even start the cycle of anti biotics again. Probably a different one this time. Stay hydrated. It can be anything from infection to an irritable bowel syndrome. Curd is good.

I think I was eating contaminated meat/water in Indonesia. When I arrived there I had migraine, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea for 4 days and they gave me IV cipro but it didn't seem to help. a year later I returned to the US and started to have asthma, sleep apnea, and chronic fatigue for over a year. nothing helps my fatigue, exercise, cpap, symbicort, metformin for my high blood sugar. I have low cortisol too about 4.0 AM.

With the onset of this pain my Dr did labs and found trace blood in my urine and gave me cipro a few days later the pain increased and nothing I took OTC helped, I called and he said go 1 more week of increased water intake and the cipro...2 days later I was in the ER for the worst pain ever.....I had a US b4 the cipro I forgot to mention, no stones were seen, and in teh ER they said the infection was clear, and I had no stones, but did have some diverticulitis ....

Then June of 2017, I had become constipated and I went to my Family Doctor and she stated my diverticulosis was acting up, so she gave me prescriptions of, Cipro and Flagyl. I took them for 4 days and my bowels seemed fine..but a few days later..I developed severe vomiting and diarrhea with cold sweats..it lasted 3 hours.I felt a little better next day, but queasy.. Two days later, I was vomiting..could not hold anything down. My daughter took me to ER.

My dog was vomiting about 1 month ago and lethargic. I took him to the emergency vet clinic and they did an Xray, which was inconclusive. I have taken Cipro for Urniary Tract Infections on and off for about 7 years. Last year the frequency of infections was about every 2 months. This winter I have had less than a month between symptoms. My doctor gave me a prescription for Macrobid in case I need it. Be careful with using Cipro and other antibiotics and use it only as directed by your Physician. I was misdiagnoised with a urinary tract infection that time showed it wasn't and was prescribed Cipro. Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.

I have taken cipro a lot too and it hasn't bothered me before. But I recently took it and after 1 dose my heart started acting weird. Any antibiotic of that class can cause heart palpitations. Unfortunately, most of the antibiotics I can take have that potential side effect, I'm allergic to penicillin.

Hi, I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives. From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.

I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face. I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.

is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.

no, it will effect the medication and either make it not work or intensfy. it will say on the bottle of the medication not to take the meds. with alcohol.

When I had a Kidney Infection (upper UTI) I was on Cipro in my IV for the 4 days I was in the hospital and then I also had to take it twice a day for a week after that. It worked really well and managed to get rid of it. I would definitely bring that up. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!

I had to take 20 days of Cipro for prostate infection. The e coli count was > 100,000. It took 4 or 5 day to take the temperature down and then it was a matter of getting through the 20 days. Right after I got off of Cipro (~2days) I was feeling constipated, A week after (yesterday) I realized my spleen was swollen (first time ever). Wife is a nurse and new where it was located.

Has your doc specifically done a stool culture for D Diff and toxins A/B? Talk to your doc and soon - get off the Cipro. Flagyl will target the bugs specifically, if in fact this is what you have. Best of luck.

Please be very careful with Cipro. Look up all the side effects of this on the computer ASAP. I was on cipro 250mg for one month then doctor raised it to 500mg. I no sooner took the larger dose than I started to jerk in sleep and had problems with numbness/tingling in both arms from elbow to finger tips. Shook like i had parkinsons. I will NEVER take cipro again!
