I got hit at once diagnosed with both hsv-2 and prostatits. It started 2 months ago. Extreme irriation sensitive tip of penis, and burning. Got tested for stds and came back hsv-2.
I then went on acyclovir for 2 weeks, pain still there. Went to urologist, said prostatits. Cipro for 2 weeks still in pain. Then switched to Levaquin for 10 days. While still on the cipro I began to feel mild muscle aches. After 4 days of Levaquin my muscle aches and joint pain increased.
My husband was on a long-term course of cipro for prostatitis. After three weeks, he developed stomach aches and pains and the doctor told him to stop. Unfortunately he also developed the types of pains and muscle weakness you are describing. This was in January and it has been a year without it going away. Cipro is a VERY powerful antibiotic and there are boards on the internet that have many people complaining about their "Cipro poisoning".
3 weeks after the encounter I noticed a single or two red bumps that would appear on the head of my penis ( just red, not white, no liaisons, no puss) then they would dissapear. I also developed a fever, tiredness and muscle aches. Now in the fourth week the red bumps are all gone and the fever and muscles aches are going away. What could this be??? I am worried sick this one drunk episode will ruin my life. I am worried sick and cant sleep. I read it could be herpes. Please HELP.
With the leg problem that you feel like stretching them, it sounds like it could be "restless leg syndrome". This is usually treated with an antidepressant called amitriptyline.
With your arms aching too, you may have some form of arthritis.
Unfortunately as we get older, us unfortunate ones, start to feel aches and pains.
Ask your doctor about the restless leg syndrome. Pain relief and anti-inflammatories may help.
only takes my TSH levels, she said that is all she goes by so my TSH is normal at 1.44 and has went higher and lower but basically stays in that range. I have no idea why she is so reluctant on having me try T3. I will try to get in before Christmas again and have another talk with her. She doesn't think my symptoms have anything to do with my meds or thyroid removal. But I think it has everthing to do with it! Its very frustrating!!
My primary physician said I probably overdid the stretches and triggered a muscle rebound (contracting) problem. An MRI of my back was taken, showing osteoarthritis (which I've known about for years). In fact I've suffered from sciatica before but that was years ago and I've been mostly pain-free since then. Was sent for physical theraphy, which seemed to resolve the issue after 4-6 weeks of treatment.
A few days ago, I began experiencing muscle aches everywhere that I cannot explain through changes in exercise or activity. Is this my body adjusting to the medication and needing more Synthroid? Blood test next Friday for synthroid increase.

I found a post that said that medications from the fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Tequin, Avelox or Floxin) can cause these symptoms...I took Cipro and Levaquinn about 7 years ago, for a few short days each and my doctor switched the medication saying I was allergic. Now I am wondering if all my symptoms that have gone undiagnosed could be a side effect of those medications. Anyone else able to tie the two together? If so, what can you do to make it better?
My fever still comes and goes but not as much as it did three days ago. Muscle aches, tightness in my head, and blurred vision arent as prevelent either. I could handle any of these symptoms but its the aching down below that comes on after the Cipro wears off thats got me.
When the nurse swabed my uretha, she said that it was dry and that she couldnt get much on the swab. Is there a possibility of false negative?

Penis tip still irritated muscle aches, and fatigue is on and off. Symptoms are not always there, but sometimes they are, sometimes are they not. Dr inspected me and still sees nothing wrong. Noticed jock itch and fungus. I'm now near 5 weeks since the incident and the symptoms continue. No signs of lesions or blisters, but still irritated tip of penis and recurring symptoms. Does not hurt to urinate, but starting to get freaked out about herpes. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well yesterday and today I am having lots of muscle aches in my legs and buttocks. My hamstrings hurt. Nothing is better symptom wise. The muscle aches have been there a week or so but now are more pronounced. 4 weeks going on 5 of this garbage. It's depressing. I went and took 500 mg of famvir last night to see if it helped and I slept well but woke up and it started all up again. Frustrating.
Im 35 +1 and my back and hips hurt soo bad...
36 hours later had muscle fatigue and aches, particularly in buttocks. Fatigue and aches continue to this day on and off.
3.) Saw Dr. about symptoms 4 days post incident. He said I looked fine and prescribed me a 1 day dose of Z Pack and 10 day supply of Cipro (2 per day) just in case something was happening.
4.) Symptoms continued and tip of penis shows irritation and is red, along with fatigue and muscle aches. So I went to see a Dr. again, this time 12 days post incident.
