No you shouldn't be worried. Nst monitoring is made track your contractions as well as babies heart rate and activity. It is completely safe.
At 40 wks my dr wrote me an order to go to the hospital and get fetal monitoring to check on baby and to make sure my fluid level is still good. However, when I called labor & delivery the woman who answered seemed confused about this. Now I'm wondering if it's actually necessary. Baby is moving just fine and I've had no abnormal pains, bleeding, or anything. Has anyone ever had to go in just to get fetal monitoring?
I'm 30weeks high risk and they just now tell me I have to come back twice a week for fetal monitoring! Shouldn't I have been told about this at the beginning of my pregnancy?? Ugh it's annoying tbh. I don't like news like this at basically the last minute. Now I have to rearrange my schedule again around this crap.
Have monitoring today again. Thinking they will admit me again this week. Hopefully baby girl stays calm and doesn't act up so we get out of here on time.
The other option that was suggested was to repeat an endoscopy and do pH monitoring. I was on info. overload and should have slowed the dr. down, but opted for another try at meds instead of the scope. If I have not responded to drug therapy to control reflux during the past 3 or more months is there reason to believe that this will work? Does anyone else use baclofen for similar reasons and with any success?
Starting fetal monitoring every two weeks for an hour. I never had to go through this before with my other two. Does anyone know why they normally suggest this?
I have been diabetic type2 for 15years and had a few problems .
Corticosteroids ≥20mg (0,5mg/kg) prednisolone (or equivalent per day for more than 4 weeks
Corticosteroid dose of ≥5mg prednisolone (or equivalent) per day for more than four weeks plus at least one other immunosuppressive medication (e.g. azathioprine, mycophenolate, ciclosporin) or rituximab within the last 12 months.
His current infection is in his lungs and the drug he was prescribed for his skin was Ciclosporin 100mg caps twice daily. He started taking them in July 2009
sorry I am not entirely sure of time I think it was for about 3 months then he started to get unwell and was admitted to hospital for the first time around about oct nov that year.

At 35 weeks I had bleeding however an ultra sound and monitoring of the baby was all ok.however now the doctor had said I need continual monitoring during labour now as precaution. I am very hesitant about this as I will be quite restricted in positions and movement during labor which are important to me as I would like a natural birth. Has anyone else experienced this and have any tips to help? Would monitoring via a doppler and midwife checks on a more regular basis be just as good?
Is blood pressure monitoring the best for looking out for heart attack?
I see this listed as a diagnostic test and someone recommended to me today that we ask for it. What I want to know is, have any of you had this? Was it helpful and in what way? I know how Nick's bp jumps around during the course of a day--maybe this would "prove" it to the docs, but what would come of it? A change in meds?
Don't worry about a call - first the question is are you physically in a cell for the wireless connection? If not the monitor center will not know what is going on until you send them data over a (provided by them) modem and your telephone line (assume you still have a wire-line phone).
