I've cut my dose down to 25 mg a day since I noticed I began having trouble maintaining erections more than I'd like. Used to never have that issue. I've gotten prescribed Cialis 5mg, haven't taken it yet, is it safe for the heart to take? Like it won't trigger any dangerous rhythms or anything? Really wanting to get my sex life back.

by Billy1115 I am in ageement with you. I was taking 10mg daily because the Uroligist said is was good for the heart. I don't have any heart problems and now I reduced it to 10mg every 3 - 4 days. I am starting to have a climax again.However, it is not lke it used to be but it is very intense. I statred to relax a little more while having sex and the climax comes upon me when I least expect it. Thanks for your input.

Cialis will help, but wouldn't it be better to not need it? I believe some of the reason for your ED is your fear of rapid heart rates during sex, as well as your expectations of Metoprolol to cause problems. Your heart rate is supposed to increase during sex, exercise and standing up. Try to leave your heart to itself. It won't stop - even if the heart rate should hit 200 bpm or more. But I think I would consider another beta blocker or ivabradine before I would try diltiazem.

I have some erectile dysfunction due to having to be on beta blockers. I've been prescribed Cialis 5mg once a day, but haven't gotten up the courage to take one yet. Kind of afraid to be honest. Several years ago I had a silent heart attack and was in ER for 3-4 days with consgested heart failure. The RCA was stented providing more blood to the deficit area and wall motion returned to normal with medication as well as a reduction of heart size and normal contractions.
