Avatar f tn I'm a 33yo guy, in overall good health, I've been on a low dose of Metoprolol for about a year for benign tachycardia. I've cut my dose down to 25 mg a day since I noticed I began having trouble maintaining erections more than I'd like. Used to never have that issue. I've gotten prescribed Cialis 5mg, haven't taken it yet, is it safe for the heart to take? Like it won't trigger any dangerous rhythms or anything? Really wanting to get my sex life back.
Avatar m tn I am 38 and started noticing weak or no erection with sexual fantasies and porn, and hardly got erection during sex with my wife for the last two weeks. The strange part is libido is great, but sudden issue with erection upset me a lot. Thought of anything sexual would give me a strong boner right away which is not anymore. Over the last weeks I have had stress with personal and business issues, too many problems in head.
Avatar n tn While you may be a candidate for the drugs as they do help in the recovery (especially if you never had any erectile dysfunction before the surgery), these drugs would also have side effects and may be contraindicated in the presence of other conditions like heart disease and run contrary to other medications. The nature of the surgery is also important, as the proof of treatment effect was conducted for men who had nerve sparing surgery.
Avatar f tn I used the term benign because I've had numerous echos and ekg's and chest x-rays and they all said my heart is structurally normal. I've just been prone to bouts of tachycardia as long as I can recall, since my late 20s. I'd like to wean off Metoprolol because it does affect my sex drive and being still young that's a concern for me. But is there a good alternative for it that could control the tachycardia bouts without the erectile dysfunction?
Avatar m tn Hello, I have read in a few websites that there is an increased risk of priapism in patients who take ED drugs like Cialis/Viagra/Levitra and who also have (among other conditions) Sickle Cell Disease and/or Beta Thalassemia. It's not clear to me whether Beta Thalassemia Minor (my condition) also increases that risk.I could not find much information about it.
Avatar n tn Is Cialis ever prescribed for someone with heart murmers to help with circulation and blood flow?
Avatar m tn While on Cialis, everything is fine when she gives me a ******* or a handjob but the moment we are going to have sex, even when I think about it, my heart rate increases and my erection disappears. I am a stresser, my heart rate rises wery easily in some situations. When we are turned on and I start to stimulate her with my fingers or tongue, my erection disappears even if I took Cialis.
Avatar n tn I also had a urine screen and urethra swab for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. The urine came back negative, but the swab test hasn't come back yet. After getting the Cipro, I took one pill but was still concerned. I went to the STD clinic and recieved a Rocefin injection, 1g Zithromax and 2g of Metronidazole. If the STD tests are negative can the infection/discharge be caused by the ED drugs?
Avatar n tn by Billy1115 I am in ageement with you. I was taking 10mg daily because the Uroligist said is was good for the heart. I don't have any heart problems and now I reduced it to 10mg every 3 - 4 days. I am starting to have a climax again. However, it is not lke it used to be but it is very intense. I statred to relax a little more while having sex and the climax comes upon me when I least expect it. Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn m leaning towards staying on whatever minimal dose of metoprolol I can get away with, and adding the Cialis to try and get a sex life back. I'm hoping since the Cialis is supposed to lower blood pressure anyway, maybe it will also keep my heart rate down during the deed assuming it gets me hard.
Avatar m tn I have dislipidemia and coronary heart disease. I had a minor MI in 2001 after which I was put on ASA, a beta blocker, an ACE inhibitor and a statin. In about 2006 I started having stable angina which led to a quad. CABG in 2007. My medications are much the same as before the surgery. My lipids are excellent. By BMI is on target but I should get more exercise. Within the past year, I had what I thought was stable angina. A dye test was performed and was negative.
Avatar f tn I have some erectile dysfunction due to having to be on beta blockers. I've been prescribed Cialis 5mg once a day, but haven't gotten up the courage to take one yet. Kind of afraid to be honest. I know many many take it with no problem, but I have a tendancy to feel my heart race more than usual during sex and at random times, which is why I take the beta blockers, but I'm not having a normal sex life. I know my doctor knows what's best.
612551 tn?1450022175 I think I was/am. I now have a prescription for Cialis and a large discount coupon.. Medicare and thus my Part D doesn't pay anything toward the cost of this expensive medication. My cardiologist has also said Cialis could be taken and may help, he also said I can try stopping my beta blocker as long as my AFib doesn't make my heart run too high a heart rate. I am also thinking testing a drop in Statin drugs. All testing has been approved by my Primary Care and Cardiologist.
Avatar n tn t touched his wife because he cannot get an erection, and he got the Cialis to see if it would make a difference, and it hasn't yet. It could also be for the other things Cialis is prescribed for. (It's not just for erectile dysfunction.) Good luck to her in figuring it out.
Avatar f tn Ok so I took a Cialis from my bf and took it to see of it could help me have an orgasm as lately I on anti depressants and haven't been able too. My face got hot and swollen and turned purplish red and my nose is plugged etc. Is that a normal reaction for a female using Cialis? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Suboxone not only effects sex drive it effects Testosterone levels. There is a lot of misunderstanding of this out there. Viagra and Cialis without sex drive equals an erection that allows for sex but no satisfaction to the male if there is no drive. Low testosterone causes low sex drive and erectile dysfunction.
1396517 tn?1500880649 I'm type 2 diabetic and overweight and have not had any erection problems until this year when during foreplay I'd be as hard as a rock, but go soft just before insertion... my wife has been understanding, but it has been frustrating. My Doctor said that erection problems are more common than people think - especially for people over 40 and she could prescribe a generic 'Cialis' if need be but I was too embarrassed to take up the offer.
Avatar f tn Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition in which a man has difficulty getting or maintaining an erection. It can be caused by physical or emotional problems. Physical problems include heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. Emotional problems include stress, anxiety, and depression. If you are experiencing ED symptoms, see your doctor right away for diagnosis and treatment options.
Avatar m tn So take it and quit worrying , stay focus on fixing your issue and love your wife with all your heart and sole -- plus an erection !!! LOL I have taken Cialis many times and I currently take the daily 5 mg Cialis without any side affects.. Very good Med for ED issues..
Avatar f tn Since, you do not have problem maintaining erection, chances of diabetes, low testosterone, varicoceles, neurological or vascular problems (peripheral vascular disease, heart or thyroid conditions) etc. are less. However, if changing the BP medication and reducing anxiety issues does not help, then these factors will need to be looked into. Of these, as of now, you could ask your doctor to test for diabetes, thyroid problems and testosterone levels.
Avatar m tn t live that long) and to have found happiness and marriage. PAH secondary to congenital heart disease will lead to an early death in all cases. There is some clinical improvement in some patients with the use of supplemental oxygen, and with medications used for erectile dysfunction (like Cialis and Viagra)--those medications can relax the blood vessels in the lungs and give some symptomatic relief to some patients. However that is not curative.
Avatar m tn The few risk factors of erectile dysfunction are advanced age, diabetes mellitus, smoking, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, nerve or spinal cord damage, depression and anxiety etc. The few common side effects of Flomax are abnormal ejaculation, decreased sex drive, runny or stuffy nose, or sore throat. Your physician will determine the best option based upon your evaluation and medical history. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn I don't have ED but I was curious if my erections could be stronger. I spoke with my doctor and tried Cialis and Viagra. Since they have much different half-lives, I thought I'd try the following: Taking 10-20 mg Cialis every 2-3 days, then taking 20-40 mg Viagra (generic sildenafil) before sexual activity. My questions isn't whether this is effective - it certainly is. But is there any risk to doing this? I moved so I don't have a doctor right now.
Avatar f tn This is something to ask a prescribing doctor about. Don't just order viagra and take it but have a doctor prescribe and take under his supervision. There has been a link shown between have peyronie's disease (curvature of the penis) and erectile dysfunction. That's also something to talk to the doctor about. There is not absolute contraindication not to take viagra if you have a curved penis, no. This article talks about ED actually causing the curved penis! https://consultqd.
