chantix side effects alcohol

My friend just quit taking Chantix due to the inability to handle the side effects. She has noticed that since quitting the Chantix alcohol has effected her differently. While on the Chantix she noticed the effects of alcohol tokk in quite quickly where now she seems to have a tolerance that was not there before. Is it possible that theh Chantix caused her intolerabilty to alcohol?

Not that I'm pro Chantix, but allow me to play devils advocate for a minute. When one contemplates quitting and then sets out to do it, there is a profound loss.....like losing your best friend, and we all have to deal with. I myself grieved long and hard. Could your depressed state be that you have finally come to terms with the fact that it is your time to quit? I used Chantix and mourned the loss but I also used it before it was linked to "possible" suicide.

Sorry that you are having such a rough time! I didn't have any side effects from Chantix and I took it for a month and a half. Oh, yes, after the 1st month I did have a bit of an upset stomach but truly nothing serious. So sorry to hear of your miscarriage : ( Maybe you should send an e-mail to the makers of chantix and see if they can give you an estimate of how long your symptons should last.

hello. do yourself a favor and deal with the alcohol first. you may also want to check into chantix potential side effects if you haven't already done so. a lot of the medical community still isn't up to speed on the possible side effects which include suicidal ideation and severe depression (yes, some have killed themselves).

Yes well stoppping smoking can have side effects and it is know that Chantix can have severe side effects including worsening the symptoms of bipolar. That's not to say it caused it though but you can ask your psychiatrist more when those issues are over and they can make a further determination.

So, I have heard horrible stories about the side effects of Chantix, how was it for everyone that has used it?? Despite what people say about the side effects, everyone I know that has used it has successfully quit smoking, but I'm nervous about about what they say it does. I have had several people tell me that they have horrible nightmares, have SUICIDAL THOUGHTS, and feel like they are just down right going crazy???

Chantix can have a lot of side effects, including headaches. They may go away after some use of it for a while. And congratulations on quitting smoking, that is one of the hardest things to do in my oppinion. Chantix originally worked for me. Best of luck!

Yes someone I know who used Chantix for smoking cessation got side effects from it that took a long time to go away. If you are having further concerns speak to a doctor about it and as with any medication for information on side effects both short and long term look up the medication website because they all must be listed by FDA law.

There is no mention of headaches as a side effect on the Chantix site but it may be that it is a lesser reported one. I never had any problems other then a little gas/queasiness but that wasn't until my second month. Maybe you should try a few more days and if it persists, call the Chantix hotline. my best friend quit smoking but first tried chantix an had some really bad side effects felt strange awful nightmares an had seazure from chantix doc took her off asap. Also seen on tv a lawyer saying if you had bad side effects from taking chantix or even death pls call today we have law suit in effect.

She felt that the nicotine withdrawls, combined with the side effects of the Chantix is what caused the severe anxiety.

Last night I looked up Chantix side effects on the web and found HUNDREDS of people with problems like mine that persist long after they stopped taking the pill. Many people in their thirties that just had a heart attack one day out of the blue (this is what I am most afraid of happening to me) Does anyone know how to undo the damage that chantix is causing?

There are side effects to every medicine. What helps the first time can have a reverse effect the next time. I have used Wellbutrin for smoking cessation under the advise of a doctor along with other medicines for my anxiety etc And It did help. But after a while I thought that I could take the medicine again for the same purpose. But I felt suicidal and that is when I did some research on internet that confirmed the side effects. So be careful and do not take medicines on your own.

My son took it for 3 months and although he did quit smoking, the side effects have nearly put us over the emotional edge. He had mild side effects while on it, the dreams, slight stomach ache, manageable headaches, but... when he went off it, the whirl wind began. He began with terrible hives, then numbness, dizzy, foggy, moody and the latest is he has been diagnosed with panic and anxiety.

I've been thinking about you; read a few more posts on Chantix side effects, and if you still feel that deep fatigue, I would quit the Chantix immediately!...and most especially if you have any kind of emotional issues (I don't mean to assume) as Chantix can exacerbate them. On Chantix for my 3rd time in 4 years. Side effects getting worse but I have NO CHOICE. I hate smoking and I am an athlete and none of my friends smoke. I have been smoke free for 2 weeks and have no cravings but dream are out of control, I get very sleepy during the day, bloated lilke when I was pregnant. The doctor gave me Metronidazole pills to take to treat Trich and should told me i couldnt have any alcohol 3 days before and after takin the pills including the alcohol in mouthwash bc it was cause a bad stomach ache. i was also wondering if this included my toothpaste which has mouthwash beads? Or is regular toothpaste better or not good either?

I have been on Chantix . My breast are swollen and tender. Has anyone else had this side effect. Not from my periods - had a hysterectomy 15 years ago.
