Common Questions and Answers about Cetirizine hydrochloride

Avatar m tn hi just an update from a previous post, i have found a antihistamine that can be used for som,one with prostate issues,it is not a degongestant, it is called cetirzine hydrochloride, it also is known as Zyrtec, make sure it's simply zyrtec if you buy it and not Zyrtec-D (with the "D" on the end) as the one with the "D" will effect the prostate and urininating problems thanks
Avatar m tn Cetirizine Hydrochloride (Cetirizine HCL) is not a type of steroid. It is considered an anti-histamine. It is typically used to provide relief from histamine-induced symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, or itching. Steroids suppress the immune system and decreased inflammation, however, their mechanism of action is different to that of anti-histamines which work by blocking the effects of histamine only.
Avatar m tn Cetirizine Acetic Acid Hydrochloride is the chemical name for Cetrizine (Zyrtec). I'm not a chemist, but I do know what acetic acid is and what it smells like. I have a big bottle of it in my kitchen cabinet and I use it often for salads....lt's vinegar......

Avatar n tn Reactine™ (cetirizine hydrochloride) can cause loss of focus of objects at different distances, called accommodation. Atarax® (hydroxyzine) can cause blurred vision and can also worsen glaucoma. You should check this out with your doctor and probably also have an eye exam, especially as glaucoma can occur at a young age.

Avatar f tn Hi I've been to the doctor twice now, first they said it was gastriti and gave me some omeprazole gastro ressistant capsules, then they gave me some cetirizine hydrochloride (i think they thought i had a food allergy) but still i have this illness. It is like a sickness feeling, makes me burp more than usual when the feeling occurs and makes me need the toilet more regularly i think.
Avatar m tn Hi, I couldn't find the topic related to my question in the list. My body is very hot all the time, normally 28 degree. its very bad because i usually feel like i have no more energy, it all burning to make the heat! if i have some hot foods like chili or something like that, it even get worse, i end up being in pain, my hands become painful and red, sometimes even body pain.
Avatar f tn Or just google her symptoms and you might come across someone with similar symptoms who has some useful information. Try cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg/day for the itching.
Avatar n tn He takes an allergy medicine (cetirizine hydrochloride) every day (three tablets which is over the recommended dose, but necessary to control his hive outbreaks) and predisone often. I would like to know from more metformin users if this is something they have experienced. BTW- He was referred to an allergist who claims it is some sort of an autoimmune response in older people (he is 65), which I do not believe as there were not objective tests to substantiate this.
Avatar n tn The allergist prescibed Xyzal and Ramitidine - these were not covered by my insurance but over the counter equivalents, i.e. Cetirizine Hydrochloride and Zantac 150, have almost fully controlled the itchiness and I have not had any hives since taking these medications. I have had some indigestion and stomach issues but much less than before. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome.
Avatar f tn I am 23 yrs old and I am allergic to all pets that have fur or feathers, as well as tabacco, dust, grass, and dandelion. I take cetirizine hydrochloride and Rhinocort everyday. However, a few months ago, I started to get an itchy/tingly feeling in my teeth, throat, chest, and toungue. I got it almost everyday, and sometimes for several days straight. My doctor said it might be a side affect of the antihistimine. So, I have switched to loratadine and have been using this one for a few months.
Avatar m tn com/brand/generic/Cetirizine%20Hydrochloride/21238) but since I felt no change after 3 weeks, I decided to see what dropping it for a week would do. 3. Avatar f tn Change sheets frequently and wear clothes only once and wash in hot water. Try cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg/day for itching.
Avatar f tn I'm in Canada, and here it is not an OTC, one can buy it just of the shelf, Reactine comes regular and non-drowsy which is what I buy, I take the extra strenght one, the main ingredient in it is Cetirizine Hydrochloride 10mg/tablet, not many antihistamines work for me as they make me feel quite sick and even more dizzy but this one has worked for quite a while now so I haven't had to change it, another one I've tried that worked but didn't buy it regularly as it is more expensive is Aerius which
Avatar n tn The first set of antihistamines had no affect (cetirizine hydrochloride) so I was put on another set (fexofenadine) which seems to have greatly reduce the swelling and rash. I now only have itching on my legs, which does not swell up unless I forget and itch it. Thanks for your help.
1258248 tn?1328779078 well, rash is gone way down took anti histamine, Cetirizine Hydrochloride, for 3 days and it really helped. Feel a bit of flem, mucus, issues but its not to bad, think it might be a side from the antihistamine.
Avatar f tn Try cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg/day for the itching. It does help and it's over-the -counter, at least it is here, don't know about Australia.Maybe try Aveeno or baking soda baths for the itchiness. I would not give up lotions but would try either a Sarna or generic copy thereof (not the one with menthol but the one for sensitive skin, so it won't cause any cold or unpleasant sensations). Perhaps try Dove soap, and definitely Neutrogena Norwegian Formula cream on your hands.
Avatar n tn I've had this same exact pain about a year ago , in which the pain had lasted for over 3weeks.I had gone to the doctor and he gave me Cetrazine Hydrochloride tablets and the pain went away in a few days. I took a couple of those tablets but the pain still isn't going away. I still feel some heaviness and mild pain behind my eyes.I dont have cold or sore throat anymore , and my sinuses aren't particularly a problem.
2127744 tn?1335371348 I also have Asthma and Hayfever if that's anything to account for? I'm currently on 360mg of Fexofenadine Hydrochloride and 20mg on Cetirizine Hydrochloride every morning, but that's about to be doubled. I'm on a 6-month trial of these, and 3 months in, they haven't done anything to help...
Avatar f tn At the moment, i'm using Anti Histammine (Cetirizine hydrochloride) 5mg (Half a tablet) once in 2 days at night. It cures my stuffy nose in the morning for 2 days. Since this problem, I cannot even think about of any cool drinks, ice cream, bathing in the evenings. I'm totally out of them. I also notice that if I lay on the side where the nostril is not stuffy, the stuffyness clear up. If the other side happened, i'm totally busted even if I had Cetirizine in the previous night.
