celexa

Avatar n tn NOw she has increased my dosage to 20 mg for celexa and the lowest dose of clonazepam twice everyday. I am taking celexa regularly but i only take clonazepam once at night time, is it bad, do i have to take it twice as she had asked to. My reason for not taking in daytime is becasue i have three kids who are home these days and i cannot sleep while they are home or feel sleepy and suffer fro headaches if i dont sleep.
Avatar n tn 6-16-2003: I went off of Celexa when my prescription ran out and they wouldn't renew it over the phone - they wanted me to come in and be seen, but I'm very busy with work. I found myself dizzy, sometimes. Not all of the time. I could drive just fine, but getting into and out of the car would cause a little wave of dizzyness, which was mildly nauseating. Also, turning the corner while walking would cause it. I had no clue it was the Celexa.
Avatar n tn I suffer from major depression and had been on Effexor for 2yrs. and felt fine on this. However I have a problem with hair loss from most any of these medications. Since I'm very sensitive this is probably a allergic reaction. I've done alot of research and testing of some medications alone or combined.
Avatar n tn I'm curious. I've seen alot of people using celexa complain of fatigue and weight gain which can be typical of some SSRIs. I've noticed that several people have had a drop in T4 while on celexa (TSH/T4 checked prior to initiating antidepressant therapy). Is there any literature out there on this? Can you offer some enlightenment? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I am now on Celexa and my hair is starting to fall out. It is very disappointing. I wish I could do without an antidepressant, but I know that I have Unipolar/Bipolar II disorder and without medication I have an extremely difficult time. It was suggested to me to try adding Selenium and Zinc to cope with hair loss. I did find this helped, though not enough to justify staying on any of the above medications. I don't want to lose all of my hair, but I can't continue with this depression.
Avatar m tn I've been experiencing hair loss and noticeably slower hair growth, I have GAD and PTSD, the hair loss is merely aggravating my anxiety. What should I do ?
Avatar n tn I tried Lamictal but it made me literally stupid and gave me horrible acne, then I tried Depakote but it made me like the living dead I was miserable and tired and I gained 20lbs and started losing my hair (i didnt appreciate that), currently I'm on trileptal which is great because my hair came back and my depakote weight went away but i dont think it is getting rid of my seizures so its basically useless, so now I am slowly adding topamax to my regime!
Avatar m tn i'm not as mentally crisp as i used to be and the depression and anxiety are getting worse but are under control with medication. i have dry skin and hair, i get nubmess in my hands, and then there is my weight creeping up.
Avatar f tn My physician responded to my request for help, and being discouraged about my lack of weight loss by trying to prescribe prozac for weight loss and of course depression. Since when does Prozac aide weight loss? I did not receive any response to what else could I do/try/ who to see etc. Or an answer as to what they syntroid was doing for me, since I was still not losing weight, but losing hair, and still had high triglycerides. Also no response to my ??
Avatar m tn as a child a was diagnosed with OCD, depression and generalized anxiety and i have been on prescription drugs (SSRI's TCA's Clomipramine and Celexa)for most of my life up until about 12 months ago when i slowly got of them and am now on some vitamins and 5htp. i still suffer from anxiety and i also get a dizzying feeling without a loss of balance.
Avatar n tn I was on celexa for 6 mos and it made me gain 20lbs and just started wellbutrin sr and was wondering if this has helped anyone lose weight? I am starting off with 150 sr 1x a day for 3 days and tommarrow I start 300sr , so far side effects are insomnia.
Avatar m tn i want to take it but am somewhat reluctant as i have heard it can cause hair loss. i love my hair and dont want to be bald! if it DOES cause hair loss in me, are the effects reversible?
Avatar f tn My primary MD told me it was anxiety and put me on ambien and celexa. I insistend on seeing an endocrinologist and found I have a goiter and 4 cystic nodules measuring 4mm,4mm,6mm and 10mm. He said they are not going to do anything about it and will repeat the ultrasound in a year. The endocrinologist said since my TSH (0.85) and free T3 (2.38) and free T4 (1.19) were "considered" normal none of my symptoms are from the thyroid.
Avatar n tn I recently started on Klonopin to stop those episodes and it worked well until I was put on Celexa. Last night after only three days on Celexa I had another strong shakedown and less than 24 hours after my last drink! I noticed the Celexa was causing increased tremor so I think it aggravated the withdrawal. I stopped the Celexa and hope not to shake today!
Avatar n tn Then some hair loss, then all the skin issues started and thats why I didnt relate it to that initially. Well, ever since it all started and regardless of the dose amount, it only got worse and WORSE until I FINALLY just weaned off completely...... : / I HAD FLAWLESS SKIN, NOT ANYMORE... I dont think i got cystic type but maybe once or twice.
Avatar n tn The seizures have been thought to be related to calcium deposits on the brain because of malabsorbtion of calcium in the small intestines and kidneys, alot of times calcium deposits are also found in the skin with this and large deposits in the nails, also the nails become paper thin and hair loss is common.
Avatar n tn I, too, have been on Celexa & then Lexapro for some years. I have the brain fog, memory loss, and problems finding the right words. I am well educated, a professional, and have a high I.Q.. I am weaning myself off of the Lexapro. I don't trust the pharmaceutical companies and their "research" or doctors that either get kick backs from the companies or just blindly mouth what the "research" says or doens't say. I wonder if there is the possibility of a class action suit.
Avatar f tn I was on celexa 40mg for 4 years and it didn't work that much for me. I never felt normal like myself, and didnt enjoy doing thing. So i tappered of off that a week ago with guidance. I started Lamictal 12.5 mg today (11/6/13), have to go very slow on the increase dosage to avoid deadly rash. But i am feeling itchy all over my body and face and have light headache. But no rash yet. Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work, and how soon did it started working?
Avatar n tn Breathing or lung problems Heart fluttering Shaking - jitteriness Unusual energy surges at times producing super human strength (adrenalin rushes) Memory impairment Hair loss Blurred vision or pressure behind the eyes Inability to discontinue use of drug and increasing own dose Cravings for alcohol, sweets, and other substances or drinking large sums of alcohol, coffee or other caffeinated drinks, diet pop with NutraSweet, etc.
Avatar f tn He put me on Celexa. And I couldn't tolerate it. After five days. I felt even more fatigued but at a loss, because I was wired. My blood pressure is usually very low. I am usually cold. Right now I get very frequent pulsating pains in my lower back. My joints hurt. I did make an appointment with an endocrinologist. I am looking for someone with similar symptoms and blood test results. I really feel something is physically wrong, but for years I have been given anti depressants.
Avatar n tn Have a nice vacation, my most excellent friend! Try to behave just a little. Of course, not being around the usual cues to using may just help you keep your consumption down or at least to something reasonable. Just stay away from the booze. It's a "dis-inhibitor" and usually leads to a loss of any sort of reasonable control. Just put ice in the glass with some 7-up and no one will be offended.
Avatar n tn My symptoms came back, burning face, tongue numbness and tingle joint pain and now hair loss, noticable loss. I have been to 5 doctors in the past 3 months and finally back to the Cleveland Clinic dermatology. I am told that the on fire scalp that I have is probably due to Fibromyalgia and my next stop, a Rhumatologist. Had my hair not thinned out, I probably again would have learned to live with my symptoms. I know its not anxiety, sure of this.
Avatar f tn Dear Dr Lupo, I am hoping you can can shed some light on my Thyroid situation as I feel so terrible emotionally and pshychologically and at times am just holding on. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1999 ( I think I had had it for years). I had a small goiter at the time and a "hot" thyroid. No nodules I dont think. Had all classic symptoms; hair loss, fast pulse (160bpm resting), extremely hot, tremors, bulging eyes, headaches, illness, hyper but then fatigued.
Avatar f tn muscle aches, fatigue, body swollen up, hair loss, dry skin. I kept feeling bad, so to avoid another bad doctor visit I decided to ask my moms doctor who was an internest. They seem to do more testing than just a regular GP. Apparently, I have "auto-immune thyroiditis" aka "HASIMOTOS". the doc ran a "antibody" blood test that came back extremely high. I forgot to mention that I also had sporatic fevers. Sweating and chills too.
Avatar n tn The effexor has caused weight gain and hair loss. Do you have any suggestions on what would be a good substitute. Would topamax work better?
