Avatar m tn Depending in the level of illumination and the angle I look to the wall, I can see a image of a small spot exactly in the center of the vision, that has the form of a bean, inside of what I can see a series of smaler spots of yelow color. I am sure I dont have macular degeneration: five days before I started to use Celebrex I have gone to a ophtalmologist to rotine examination. In that day my vision was perfect: the visual test for glasses presented no problems.
Avatar m tn t seen anything positive about Celecoxib. My question is how long should I wait until I start taking this on a regular basis. Because, I have had many alcoholic drinks in my time, but if I stay sober should I be able to take this within 2 weeks? I'm only saying that because I'm assuming it might be a good window opportunity for my liver to start healing!
Avatar f tn Ah thanks for your comment,, I have tried celecoxib and arcoxia as my doctors advised but I already got immune with this meds as they can't controll the pain anymore..
Avatar m tn m interested in hearing from anybody who has had similar symptoms, or a similar course of action before getting a diagnosis. I have never really heard of tinnitis or vertigo being symptoms of MS, and those are the main reasons I even started pursuing medical help to begin with. The doctors have ruled out some explanations (like the acoustic neuroma), but there are still other possibilities on the table (Meniere's disease, or even high blood pressure for example).
Avatar n tn It kind of sounds like a form of Action tremors, but I have to agree with mkh9.
Avatar m tn The onset of action ranges from 45 minutes - 1 ½ hours, and the duration of action is six hours. Diazepam carries a bi-phasic half-life of 20-50 hours (for Diazepam), and 30-200 hours (for Desmethyldiazepam). Valium is indicated for the long-term management of generalized anxiety and tension-anxiety. Tolerance will not develop to the anxiolytic property of Diazepam, although tolerance will develop to the sedative/hypnotic property.
Avatar m tn A partial µ-opioid receptor agonist, its mixed agonist/antagonist activity affords it a lower risk of dependence and abuse than full µ agonists like morphine. Meptazinol exhibits not only a short onset of action, but also a shorter duration of action relative to other opioids such as morphine, pentazocine, or buprenorphine.

Avatar f tn He has been going severly downhill since January and has lost 40 pounds, has constant mucous drainage that he chokes on especially after meals, and has severe shortness of breath. Can these symptoms be a result of the medications he is taking? Is it safe for him to take two synthetic DMARDS at the same time?

Avatar f tn I called my Pharmacist and found out that they had just switched my usual Celecoxib for a newer generic version of it and so I stopped taking that one and started taking my old one and stopped the Citalopram, Divalproex DR and Buspar and I am feeling much, much better . I am still having some dizziness but not near as bad as before. But it may be due to my having a Flare of Uveitis right now, too.
Avatar f tn After he/she takes the x-ray, they will go over them to determine what plan of action to take. After a few treatments, you should start to feel better.
Avatar n tn Norflex, Celebrex and Kotase(Bromelain). He asked me to take one of each tab twice a day for 5 days before removing the cast. According to him, this will reduce the pains i will feel when the cast is removed. However, i am a bit worried about the drugs. I'm bothered there might be some after effects. I'm also worried the drugs might be too strong. Please what do you think?
Avatar f tn Acetaminophen relieves pain by elevating the pain threshold, that is, by requiring a greater amount of pain to develop before it is felt by a person. It reduces fever through its action on the heat-regulating center of the brain. Specifically, it tells the center to lower the body's temperature when the temperature is elevated. Acetaminophen relieves pain in mild arthritis but has no effect on the underlying inflammation, redness and swelling of the joint.

Keep in mind, in the military you need to get a referral to be seen by a full blown doctor, and since they have run the course with cardio tests, I am afraid the next PHD they send me to will be a psychiatrist. Thanks.

Avatar f tn Both Flexeril and Zanaflex are muscle relaxants with Zanaflex having a shorter duration of action than Flexeril. At times a combination of a long acting relaxant is given with a short acting one for proper control of spasticity. Whether you need both or not can be decided only by your treating doctor based on your symptoms and response to drugs. Take care!
Avatar m tn However, it will only prevent migraine headaches or reduce the number of attacks and will not treat a headache that has already begun. Celebrex or celecoxib, on the other hand, is used to treat pain or inflammation including headaches. Medication effect usually varies from one person to another. What is effective to one may not be as effective to another. It would be difficult to say which medicine has a better outlook.
Avatar m tn I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?
