celebrex

Avatar f tn My great aunt took Celebrex too- for her rheumatoid arthritis, but you may want to look into potential side very serious side effects and weigh that into considering it.
Avatar f tn hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
Avatar f tn You have to weigh all the ways RA effects your life and all the possible side effects of the medication and then decide which one out weighs the other. Hopefully you will respond to your current therapy, not have any progression in your condition and be able to avoid it. For those of us who can't, well, we have to decide. I can say that my perspective was that I would take increased quality and a possible shorter duration. I hope you never have to make that choice.
Avatar n tn So I was just doing some research for another post on post viral arthritis. It is a kind of arthritis that can set in after you have a virus or the flu. I read that it takes several weeks to months to resolve. I immediately thought of you. Ask your doctor about this type of arthritis and please let us know what you find out.
Avatar f tn To anyone with Rheumatoid arthritis.....I am wondering, from personal experience, can anyone tell me how long you took Naproxen before you started feeling better?
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and prescribed Plaquenil and naproxen (for swelling and pain relief.) I am on a low sodium diet for meniere's disease. Various pain relievers make me retain fluid......making me too dizzy and light headed to drive. Can you recommend a product, OTC or prescription, that contains little to no sodium? I have read the sodium in pain relievers help to quicken relief of pain......
808815 tn?1254301881 Hi there, I'm sorry you are so worried. However, I think you made a wise choice. There are many strong, and immune suppressing meds that are used for RA that are known to cause worsening of MS or even suspected of bringing MS on. Abatacept is NOT one of them. I thought it was, so I did some reading. The category of med that you would want to avoid is the one that is called the anti-TNF meds or anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor meds. Abatacept is not one of these.
569755 tn?1220872102 It do have some side effects but I should be able to handle it if not he will stop it and give me something else to take. Well good luck if you are going to start with this or thinking about it. I'm also new to this forum.
Avatar f tn I have rheumatoid arthritis which is controlled by medication. I have developed a burning pain between my shoulder blades with shortness of breath. This symptom has gradually gotten worse over the past 6 months. I have had a cardiac cath which was clear & ruled out heart. I also have had thoracic x-rays, complete G.I. work-up. I was wondering if a M.R.I. would be beneficial. The pain is different than the pain from the arthritis.
Avatar n tn I am a hepper with rheumatoid arthritis. I took Celebrex for a year while I was on treatment this last time at the recommendation of Shands at the University of Florida. I made the decision to come off the Celebrex on my own because of all the black box warnings that came out regarding the heart while on Celebrex. I just came back from Shands on 7/21. I was up there for another evaluation after having relapsed for a second time.
Avatar m tn I have been advised to take Celebrex or Topamax for headaches. Which treats headaches/migraines better? Which has had more success?
Avatar m tn Sounds like a stronger pain medicine would help, and also I would go back to the doctor who hit a nerve and demand that he do something. Celexa is for arthritis pain, I'm surprised you're on this. Plus, Celexa has many side effects, which may be adding to your problems, I refused to take it. Can you tell me what type of kidney problems you have, and what is being done for it?
Avatar m tn Hi Sean, Im sorry to hear about the pain in your joints, my fingers on my left side have started to curve inwards im left handed and i guess thats why its more severe than on the right side. I was put on celebrex a yr ago, it did nothing to ease the pain, so then i tried glucosamin pills, the only down fall to that was it took about a month to help ease the pain, i also have horrible joint pain in my right shoulder a constant ache.
Avatar f tn For that reason alone it is worth getting tested since, I understand, rheumatoid arthritis is treated differently than non-rheumatoid arthritis and you want to deal with what you have effectively. The moods and depression...that's something else. That was the most short-lived of my after-treatment side effects but also the most brutal. I would agree with R Glass that you have a doctor look at hormonal imbalance and any other physical reason there might be for the impact on your moods.
Avatar f tn I was just diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. My dr has prescribed plaqunil. Can anyone give me their opinion of this med? It sounds so dangerous.
Avatar f tn That doesn't sound good at all. Combining the methadone and the norco could be too much. Maybe you should call your doctor tomorrow and let him know what's happening. I know nothing about the Humira. Your pharmacy could tell you about any drug interactions. If I were you, I wouldn't take anything else until I spoke with my doctor and/or pharmacist.
1835973 tn?1318617713 I very recently found out I am hypoglycemic & I have had Rheumatoid arthritis since 1991. I've tried various pills, drugs & intravenous Rheumatoid arthritis drugs through the years all after a while have hardly any effect or relief.
Avatar n tn Yes, RA factor can become negative after being positive. Mine has. I have been taking 2x200 mg of Celebrex a day. The rheumatologists that I see do not have a dx for me, but at least the Celebrex seems to be decreasing the swelling and pain in my joints. Good luck!
1100837 tn?1267668675 Thank you for responding Karajo. No, I have not tried Plaquinel, however, a doctor did offer me a sample pack but I wouldn't accept it because I was afraid of the side effects. the package said it's used in the treatment of malaria, I think. I tend to be so sensitive to medications but I'm realizing that I'm even more sensitive to relentless pain and extreme fatigue. Have you tried Plaquinel? If so, does it help you? Is it prescribed for RA or Fibro?
420281 tn?1204647504 pain, arthritis and twitching. I would suggest speaking with your doc if these symptoms are interferring with your ADLs (activities of daily living) or are getting worse. Since you wrote us, I will assume they are bothersome enough for you to want answers, plus you have added some other odd sensations as well. Best, I think, to have a talk with your prescribing doc and get the answer I can't give you with any authority. Good luck to you all.
Avatar f tn I started Lyrica because they thought it may be fibromyalgia, but I only experienced side effects including terrible dizziness and nausea, the joint pain never went away. I stopped the medication. Then I started celebrex, which was great for about a month, it considerably reduced my joint pain. Unfortunately I run out of the medication for 4 days. Then when I started taking it again the medication did not work, even when I increase the dosage (from one pill every 24 hr to one pill every 12hrs).
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in my Right knee. I am 34 years old and was wondering if there is anything I can do for it and my back. A Doctor I saw in PA said they will not do anything for my knee because I am to young. I was told to just quit walking up or down hills and steps.(at the time I lived in the Mountains of PA in a Cape cod style house. So that was a little hard. Plus I have 2 kids. 12 and 8.) I have just moved to a 1 floor house in FL and the pain is worse sometimes.
Avatar f tn This case suggests that interferon therapy may precipitate subclinical rheumatoid arthritis in an individual without pre-existing clinical arthritis.
