Avatar m tn I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar m tn It's been 11 days and I seem to be going through the norm. I am in a lot of back and joint pain. I am going to see my pain management doctor today. I take meloxicam for arthritis and I think I'm going to ask for a change. I have been told that Celebrex and Indomethacin is a good non narcotic combination. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Norflex, Celebrex and Kotase(Bromelain). He asked me to take one of each tab twice a day for 5 days before removing the cast. According to him, this will reduce the pains i will feel when the cast is removed. However, i am a bit worried about the drugs. I'm bothered there might be some after effects. I'm also worried the drugs might be too strong. Please what do you think?
Avatar f tn I am in a similar situation - I was diagnosed with SLE in Sept 2010 with main symptoms of finger, hand, and wrist arthritis that did not respond to MTX or moderate doses of prednisone (6 - 40 mg per day over the past year). MTX was stopped in Jan 2011 and Imuran started, but my arthritis persisted so I was put on Humira in mid April 2011. My current Rheumy switched my diagnosis to undifferentiated arthritis with high suspicion for SLE or seronegative RA.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Avatar m tn Last Tuesday morning I woke up with a half-numb pinky and half ring-finger, which has since gone almost completely numb (without the pinching sensation, just almost complete lack of touch). Had an electromyography (emg results: http://i51.tinypic.com/141ju9y.png) which, according to the doctor, showed ulnar neuritis, which he addressed to having my elbow touch the desk while i'm on the computer (which is several hours per day).
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have variable pain day to day. Almost like clock work it is low one day, moderate or high the next, low, moderate until after I haven't injured myself for a while then it startst to level off. I did notice that when I took either Tylenol or Celebrex on the bad day it started to break the cycle. Any suggestions or has anyone seen this?
Avatar f tn Endo doubles my dosage of tapazole to 30 mg per day. The symptoms slowed down. Now in March I gained weight - 15 lbs, think I am HYPO so I am going to cut down the tapazole and get blood work done. Diet has not changed at all. Is weight gain normal after high dose of tapazole. I think it was extreme for endo to put my dose from 15 to 30 mg per day ? My last reading said 19 - after a month of being at 30 mgs per day. Its two months later - and I gained 15 lbs and feel tired all the time.
Avatar m tn Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
1207048 tn?1282174304 Steady state levels should be reached before the 5th day at standard dosage (200mg twice a day.) Pharmacokinetics Absorption: Peak plasma levels of celecoxib occur approximately 3 hrs after an oral dose. Under fasting conditions, both peak plasma levels (Cmax) and area under the curve (AUC) are roughly dose-proportional up to 200 mg BID; at higher doses there are less than proportional increases in Cmax and AUC [see Food Effects]. Absolute bioavailability studies have not been conducted.
Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
382218 tn?1341181487 What I was wondering was whether there is any difference in effectiveness in taking 1200 mg, 3x per day - VS - 900 mg, 4x per day? 4x per day is tricker given that is every 6 hours and may interfered with sleep, having to wake extra early to take a dose. But I wondered given the short half-life of this med, if taking the same overall daily dose but more frequently would make any difference? Has anyone experimented with this? Any advice on how to proceed?

Avatar f tn For the last 8 months I have been on 2.5 mg per day. I saw my endo today and he reported that I am doing fine and should continue with the 2.5 mg. As I read through the forums, I've yet to find anyone on a dosage that small. Is this a standard maintenance dosage?
358304 tn?1409709492 I think that it would be ok to drop down like the doc told u to do and also on comment to the getting off i was having the same problem with celexa and he changed me to celebrex now so hope that the problem goes away he says that celebrex is less side effects of the sexual disfunction hope all goes good and keep up the great job stephanie
Avatar f tn You really are only taking 64mcg per day doing that way and I don't think there is pill with that dosage. I have had to double before and did not have any problems with it. Just take it every day the same time on empty stomach. She does not want you to go hypo and is trying to keep you from being hyper, so I can see the adjustment.
Avatar n tn And to my surprise Celebrex is a potential contributor to neuropathy. So i want to know, if any of you is suffering from neuropathic pain and are not diabetic and have used Celebrex for a long time? Until recently i was using Effexor and used it for 10 years, so i think the effexor was camouflaging my pain since they use it in neuropathy treatement. But, during the last year of using Effexor the pain got stronger, and now since i'm free of Effexor the pain is getting stronger.
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed Klonopin twice per day .5 mg a.m. and .5 mg p.m. (every 12 hours) It causes tremors. Do tremors eventually go away with these medications.
Avatar f tn I treated in 2008 and I took 1000 mg ribavirin a day and 180 ug of pegasys injection once per week – I reached UND at week 16, but stopped tx because I did not want to treat for 72 wks with low odds and I decided to wait for new PI. Now my (new) doctor is going to treat me with PI and wants to only give me 800 mg of ribavirin a day (I will be taking pegasys and incivek).
Avatar m tn Have you started tapering down your dosage per your doctor's instructions? Just make sure you are not adjusting dosage or quitting it without talking to your doctor first; just ensure you follow his/her instructions. Doing it on your own can cause many unpleasant symptoms that you would not really have to endure if you take it as prescribed.
Avatar f tn I have cirrhosis and was limited to 2000mg per day. Four 500mg extra stenght pills a day. So you can probably take more. And yes before and after your shot when the aches and pains are worse is the best time. See the article below for details or Google it for yourself. "Painkillers and Liver Disease/Hepatitis" Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is a medication used to control pain (known as an analgesic) and fever (known as antipyretic).
Avatar f tn I am currently taking prednisone (5 mg per day and tapering), plaquenil, imuran, humira (every 10 days), celebrex (100 mg twice a day), elavil (low dose for insomnia and chronic pain relief), and a couple meds for GERD & Barret's esophagus too. I've never been a pill popper before aug 2010, but I am convinced all these meds are truly needed since I now can use my hands again without major pain and stiffness (still have some but it's MUCH better than last year).
Avatar m tn My doctor has perscribed 200mg taken 3 times per day - and has indicated that this is a strong enough dosage for me. My question still remains, is a dosage of 200mg taken 2 times per day effective? I have a strong adversion to taking meds of any kind. I get dizzy, light headed, tired, cranky and can taste metal in my mouth.
