Common Questions and Answers about Catapres tts side effects

catapres

Avatar m tn Thanx for the advice, I went and got a prescription for more catapres today and am going to take it a decreasing dose until I get back to my prescribed dose. Unfortunately I made a huge mistake today, I gave up my sobriety ( because I was so worried about having bad side effects from not having catapres, at least that's where my stupid addict logic lead me). Anyway this is where it get complicated, I'm on suboxone (8mg 2x daily).
Avatar m tn I'm on a strict diet and on the catapres tts system patch . It lowers my blood pressure but makes me feel like a zombie along with a host of other bad symptoms. My following symptoms are: internal core shaking, lower back tingling and really warm(at random times) constant need to poop and usually when I do it's a loose stool. And then I have random flushing and sometimes out of breath when talking to my customers.
Avatar f tn my wrist and forarm go numb i also have a burning feeling under my arm and at the back of my shoulder i saw my specilist today he gave me a script for catapres-tts-2 and said in three weeks he would make a apointment for me to see a anesthesologist i was wondering why and what for he never explained i thank you for your advice julz
Avatar m tn Since then we found out that Risperidone is know for side effects such as tardive dyskinesia. We are seriously concerned now. Will this be permanent ? What is the best way to examine this problem ? Thanks for any suggestions !
232264 tn?1191248480 My frined told me of this miracle cure for the withdrawls.... catapres patch TTS 1, and since I put that patch on, no restless leg, no sweats, no vomiting. I know you are talking about Xanax, and Valium, but this patch works for real. So far 4 of us have done it. It does not change the fact that insomnia hits, and you need immodium for the stomach, but I have Kaiser and my Dr. has been real helpful.
Avatar f tn Ok, so I'm slowly tappering off suboxones. I've heard of many on here talk about using a clonidine transdermal patch to help with w/d's. So I was able to obtain a descent amount of this - - only in tablet form, from a relative - - catapres O.2mg tabs.
Avatar f tn What would make you think that you have toxic shock syndrome? :) Symptoms of TSS include: high fever, accompanied by low blood pressure, general feeling of illness/severe flu symptoms, confusion, which can rapidly progress to stupor, coma, and multi-organ failure. The characteristic rash, often seen early in the course of illness, resembles a sunburn, and can involve any region of the body, including the lips, mouth, eyes, palms and soles.
Avatar m tn Ask you doctor for a chondline patch called catapres TTS-2 which will ugive you .2mg over 24 hrs and good for a week. It really really helps. You can cut this patch in half to bring it down to .1mg if needed. It really takes care of restless leg, that creepy feeling you can get . No matter what anyone tells you this is one of the very best detox meds to take. It will lower your BP so good to check with the doctor first.
Avatar f tn Ok, I understand I have TTS and just have to live and deal with it, I have it over 15yrs now and I'm 38. But, My biggest problem is, is it normal for my legs to hurt so much? They hurt from my thigh to my ankles and I do not have the typical TTS symptoms. Is it possible there could be something else going on? The best way to describe what my legs feel like is that their being strangled where the thigh and hip would meet. Most people complain of burning in their feet and toes hurting.
Avatar m tn In another post someone asked when symptoms of TTS would be relieved after starting thyroid meds. I am taking Levothyroid and started 1 month ago. I have suffered from TTS in my left foot for 8 years and now have the beginings of it in my right foot. I have had all the steriod shots and now have my L foot in a cast for 3 weeks without relief. I am tired of the pain and now with the R foot beginng to burn I am going to ask the podiotrist to do surgery. My questions are; Can hypothroid cause TTS?
Avatar f tn My question is were any of you given this and if so did it made your symptoms worse or what side effects did you experience? I have sinus tachycardia and occasionally Have atrial tachycardia episodes. I'm 28 yr old female. I have noticed since changing I'm moody all the time very dizzy and pass out more frequently. Thanks!
585414 tn?1288941302 Except for the delivery device its honestly not that different from other mood stabilizers in good effects and side effects although clearly for no one would it be used as a first line choice but then again its never been suggested as one. The world and people and their effect on me seem a bit toned down so that certainly must be one sign its working.
Avatar m tn I think it was a Catapres-TTS patch and Motrin beleave it or not . The patch is used for high blood pressure . They also gave me stuff to help me sleep but did not work . I just woke up after 3 hours of sleep and before that I was awake for right around 40 hours with one half an hour nap . And my first post I should have said at detox I did have trouble sleeping but I do if I'm not in my bed . The shakey ness came on after I left the detox unit .
317019 tn?1532965586 the u/s tech took measurements of the fluid around the babies and it looks like twin a is getting more fluid than twin b....so it looks like i might have the start of twin to twin syndrome (TTS)....i am horrified right now because i dont know what to make of this.....my doc says early detection is good and that there is a doc in NC that is great with the laser surgey that they use to try and fix it....
880900 tn?1467270141 I’m pretty sure clondine is a high blood pressure medication to reduce hypertension. It sounds like some side effects of taking clonidine may be helpful with w/d's. I haven’t tried it for that, yet, however, I took it once to reduce my BP and I accidentally took too much and I was literally walking sideways, my BP got dangerously low....(if that happens, drink lots of H2o), so, IMO, I would be very careful with it and take a very low dose. It’s nothing to mess around with….
449440 tn?1206887304 Specifically Catapres (Clonidine) is effective, and it has lesser side effects than the neuroleptics. But you have to keeps a watch on your blood pressure. Catapress causes the blood pressure to fall. The other aspect I was talking about was regarding any co-existing conditions. Quite often, obsessive thought and/or compulsive behaviors are associated with the tics. In such cases, Clomipramine is a god alternative. It helps the obsessive part of the symptoms.
Avatar m tn Without meds my blood pressure is 160/100 with meds it's 130/85. I'm on the catapres patch .1mg and it's the only med that doesn't give me terrible reactions. I still have side effects from the med but it's the lesser of the evils. My question is Ive been diagnosed with primary high blood pressure and I'm 27 years old and 5"10' 185lbs. Does anybody have any idea why I feel so crappy all the time???
Avatar f tn So, is it whatever I have going on that has effected my legs so long or is it TTS? No idea and really not sure what side mine started on because I'm not really sure when it would have started. Also let me add that even left sided people get the keys taken away. I was driving stick when my leg decided to go dead :) Not an easy task to do when shifting eeks... A few times I ended up sitting at lights or stop signs until I could get my leg to do what I needed.
Avatar f tn If left untreated, the disorder can have long-term effects on a person s ability to function well in social situations and to do well at school or work. Over time, those with untreated ADD or ADHD can be at high risk for developing depression, anxiety disorders, or other emotional problems. Both ADD and ADHD are very complex conditions; an individual with either of the disorders may have very different symptoms than another person who has the same disorder.
Avatar n tn can you take methadone and catapres together? and if you do take both catapres and methadone ,how will it affect you?
Avatar m tn thank you. i just wanted to know if its std related tts all.
682757 tn?1226867854 He then proceeded to insist that I was doing something wrong because he had never had anyone in his 10yrs of using the med have these effects. Then when I told him that I was doing nothing different he said that I must be going through MENOPAUSE!!!! I am 33 years old and I hardly think that is a factor. So after reading some of the old postings I saw that there are other people who have had these same effects.
Avatar f tn My doc gave me Catapres - it's a BP med, not addictive. It helped me TREMENDOUSLY with the sweats and anxiety - it lowers the BP so if you've got low BP it's not for you. He also gave me Klonopin - very low, very limited dose to use ONLY if I really needed it in between the Catapres doses. I've taken like 1/2 a tab once or twice a day and that's it.
Avatar m tn I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
