Common Questions and Answers about Cardizem la patient assistance

tiazac

Avatar n tn Both Cardizem and Cardizem CD (a controlled release form of the drug) and there is Cardizem LA that is an extended release, once a day medication. Cardizem CD and Cardizem also used to treat high blood pressure. Thanks for your question. If you have any followup questions or comments you are welcome to respond. take care.
Avatar m tn However, if your wife has an enlarged left atrium, then the odds of this being successful are much lower than if her LA was normal (I also have an enlarged LA, 5.5 cm dia., and have been told that it isn't worth trying in my case). If your wife is in continuous/persistent afib and, even with verapimil and a pacemaker , experiences symptoms like strong annoying palpitations, dizziness, being tired all the time then another type of ablation is considered.
Avatar n tn EKG taken by cardiologist as precation was normal. Cardiologist is having me drop Cardizem LA (180 mg) for Carvedilol (6.25mg 2x per day). Any reason to think this change could trigger arythmia or something else really kooky? I am told this is an excellent medication and typically very well tolerated. I tried Toprol XL before for several months. Did not tolerate it well, mainly due to severe nightmares. Once removed from the Toprol, nightmares stopped.
Avatar m tn could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.
Avatar f tn I was just put on 180 mg. of Cardizem LA once a day and was curious if anyone else here was taking this medication? If so, what side effects do or did you have? So far (only the first day) I haven't had any. Also, did the medication work for you as far as lowering your blood pressure?
Avatar f tn I know PVC means premature ventricular contraction, but is this something to worry about? I went to see my cardio doctor yesterday and he raised my medication (Cardizem LA) from 180 mg. to 240 mg. a day. Every time I see him he does an EKG and shows me the irregular heartbeats. To me it looks totally different than a normal EKG and I don't understand why since January this has been happening to me.
Avatar f tn Recently I have started having heart palpatations of 215 that last for 15 minutes. This has only happened twice and they were 3 months apart. My cardiologist has put me on cardizem la 120 mg to see if that will keep my heart rate from becoming too high. I have had a heart cath, stress test, echocardiogram and every test that can be done has. Are my palpations of 215 coming from my anxiety disorder? What do I need to do if I have another attack?
Avatar f tn She was recently treated at the ER for atrial fibrillation and is now on Cardizem. She has no insurance and is not sure what she should do next and/or if any of this is a serious concern. Any knowledge or help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago my Cardio doctor changed my medication from Cardizem LA to Diltiazem CD. I know it's the generic brand of Cardizem. Anyway he raised my dosage from 240 mg. to 300 mg. For a whole week I had some terrible side effects. I blacked out once while sitting at my computer and then I came close to blacking out on a daily basis. I also felt off balance. I ended up going to my primary doctor, not for this, but for something else. I guess it was a follow up appointment.

1652596 tn?1342011626 i'm involved in phase 2b, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.the sponsor is gilead sciences, inc. i'm being treated at scripp's research center in la jolla. i am excited but also nervous like you. i have a great study nurse. i'm also going to be going to the green hospital on the 1st wednesday of every month for a hep c support group. they have different speakers each time. next month will be my first time. if you're interested it's on the 2nd floor at 6:00.
Avatar n tn I tried taking Cardizem and had to stop. I had been given Cardizem instead of Norvasc for heart spasms. It was the long lasting Cardizem. I suffered through 12 hours of awful chest pains. I went back to the Norvasc. It just works better for me.
Avatar f tn All of my doctor visits, labs, biopsy, and roughly $80k worth of medications were paid for by the county because I was a low income resident. Vertex donated the Incivek through their patient assistance program. There are long waits at the clinic, long waits at the hospital, but since I wasn't working and getting treated, I was grateful. I felt very lucky to be getting treatment without health insurance.
1230228 tn?1267487781 Many areas have county or other government resources available at little or no cost to the patient. Usually these are part of a department of health, human services, or similar entities. Many pharmaceutical companies have patient assistance programs that provide meds at little or no cost as well.
Avatar f tn She has not felt good basically the whole time since she started Cardizem and asked her cardiologist this month if she could stop the Cardizem. He told her to just stop taking it cold turkey and that they would have to work on regulating her blood pressure. How do you feel about stopping this medication after 17 yrs cold turkey? Will there be any serious complications. She is nervous but also wants to get off the cardizem and stay on the toperol.
233622 tn?1279334905 LBradley (Lori) may have some information for us on this on since she specializes in Adaptive Assistance items ... how about it lori?
Avatar f tn m about to start Cialis, so hopefully that will help regardless, but my cardiologist mentioned that I might try Cardizem. He was suggesting it had fewer sexual side effects. Maybe the Cialis will be enough to override any sexual side effects from the Metoprolol so I won't have to switch, but still curious whether I should ditch it for the Cardizem to at least try it. I don't have high blood pressure, just tachycardia and the metoprolol really helps keep that in check.
Avatar n tn m experiencing is with my heart rate. since the ablation proceedure my heart rate elevated to 100-110 bpm. my EP prescribed cardizem cd and it is keeping it under control now. the side effects are what's causing me problems. my toes and lower legs are feeling numb. I tried metoprol and diovan hct and although by bp is in the normal range my heart rate is elevated unless I continue on the cardizem cd.
Avatar f tn In the mean time I used the nitro alot. Have they discussed this with you? I tried Cardizem LA and had some awful side effects. For 12 hours I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I had some very different chest pains after taking that pill. So I went back to using the Norvasc. It takes some time to get the right combination of meds. You just have to work with your doctor until you find the right thing.
237039 tn?1264258057 Not that site. I tried the Cardizem LA 360mg once and the side effects were miserable. I had terrible chest pains and skipped beats the full 24 hours. My heart felt bruised afterward. I haven't tried it again since. I went back to taking the Norvasc. I am just curious though, if the Raynauds is spastic in nature, could there be a connection. I think there could be, but then I am just wondering. My husband says that's dangerous! (For me to wonder.
1622229 tn?1299050798 I wanted to share some encouraging news for people who have Chronic Hep B and have financial difficulty affording Baraclude. I contacted Brystol Myers Squibb and applied for the Patient Assistance Program. The website and application is here: http://www.bms.com/products/Pages/programs.aspx It took about a week and they have approved me to receive the medication and are shipping it to my home.
