But ultimately tough have to try different things and check your blood after every meal and see what causes biggest spikes. Like for me I just can't do potatoes.

613536 tn?1294238447 You can make a big spaghetti sauce and just boil the noodles when you need. You can make a big rice and gravy and boil the rice when you need. That is about all I can cook so that is all the ideas for me!! I am with Joy, with the pre-packaged foods!!!
Avatar f tn Do not drink soda pop, eliminate all unnatural sugar, do not eat anything white (rice bread pasta) white=sugar sugar=fat. Do a lot of core excercises. It is worth it to invest in a guided fitness program.
Avatar f tn While it is normal to have a rise in blood sugar level after a meal, excessive rise in blood sugar levels could indicate inappropriate dosage/ timing of injecting the insulin or excessive or inappropriate proportion of carbohydrate in diet. You could start by slightly lowering the carbohydrate and increasing the protein portion of diet. If this does not seem to help, I would suggest consulting your treating endocrinologist for adjustment in dosage/ timing of the insulin. Hope this is helpful.
Avatar n tn I used to eat pasta/noodles/bread every day. Approx 1100 calories a day. I'm now using Tofu Shirataki noodles and macaroni to great effect( not shirataki noodles, they're awful!). I substitute these for pasta/noodles and that's 1000 calories a day saved which equals to 1 kg a week ='s 2.2 pounds. Which is exactly what I've lost over the past 4 weeks - 4 kg. Nothing else has changed. My next step is to get on the bike and strengthen.
Avatar n tn Also avoid white refined grains (buy whole wheat bread, whole wheat noodles, brown rice, and oatmeal. Avoid white bread, white noodles, white rice, etc. And eat lots of fruit and vegetables. When a person is sick, they should eat as healthy as possible anyway. Good luck and God bless. Good luck.

For my brother he can not touch white rice because it will send his sugar soaring, but I can eat it in small quantities and I will be fine. Also, I never heard of al dante noodles being any different than softer noodles, that's kind of weird.
Avatar f tn I've had terrible yeast infections all my life. All types of infections. Been to a few naturopathy and herbalist. Only thing thats helped is quiting wheat and diary. Not even diary yogurt is good for us. Once I quit I noticed my swallowing and the mucus wasn't as bad especially in the mornings. I've got acne and had red patches on my face in same spots for quite some time. Now those are disappearing. I eat rice soaked for 12 hrs at least then ill cook it normal. I'll eat corn.
