Start 1/4 tablet at night 2. Increase to 1/2 tablet at night 3. Increase to 1 tablet at night 4. Increase to 1 tab at night at 1 in morning. (increase further if need be up to Max of 2 g/day). Give the metformin 1 month trial once you are at Max dose.

Keep in mind keto is a short time diet and not a deffinitive one because if you keep it for a long time your body will not have enough fat to bune anymore and this is not what you want.

Tbd Many people are having success. Including me. I have been eating low carb for about 10 years now, and can get normal blood sugar levels (hba1c of close to 5) though I do still require insulin (I am not T2). Dr. Richard Bernstein wrote a whole book on this called "diabetes solutions". Or you can also look him up at Bernstein Diabetes University on Utube.

Maybe you should try that for a couple of months and see if it helps you too. I have heard of a few women who did the same thing and it helped them too. Cysts can cause all kinds of pain, but if you feel like you might want to try another doctor, it wouldn't hurt.

My morning sugar reading has gone from 168 to 102 i feel great , my apatite has decreased a lot. i don't have the cravings for crabs like I use too or the craving for sugar. I have been going though the proses to have the gastric bypass surgery but with the help of this drug hopefully I wont have to have it.

Avatar m tn I went low carb, but not true Keto as I found that too demanding and not necessary. Get a good carb tracker and set a daily carb goal with your doctor. I like low carb because it allows you to focus on what you can eat and not what you can't so much. In my case, a typical 2,500 calorie day equates to an allowable carb number around 200 and I try too keep it under 100 which is not very difficult in time.

Avatar n tn The only thing about a low carb diet is that a lot of Drs do not believe in it as they have all been brought up on the high carb way of living and think that the ADA diet is the only diet for diabetics. When I did the ADA diet I not only gained weight, but I could never keep my BG numbers in line (I was always high). Now I keep my numbers very, very close to normal doing the low carb. But be warned, Most people do not believe that you can eat low carb and get thin, but it is true.

Avatar f tn It's been 2 yrs and haven't been able to conceive. I went to a fertility doc , did an ultrasound I was told I had a tilted uterus and 6 eegs as the "normal" amount is 8. Did lab work and the only lab that came back was the dhea? The one for the adrenal gland function. It said it was abnormally high. The doc started me on 500 mg metformin. Ive only taken it once during the day and I went crazy like just very emotional and just MEANNN!

Some things in my life happened and I knew I needed to get back on the subs so I went back on them, continued my low carb eating ways and have gained back 6 lbs in a week. Is there something natural I can take to comabt this? Is it water weight?

Avatar n tn Yet after carby meal(pizza, burgers and fries), I tend to go up between 140-180. I HATE sticking my finger, and get worked up thinking about doing it at 2 hours. I'm sure sticking myself effects me, as if I stick myself then check 3 times in a row I see a steady rise. Anyway. I saw the Dr. I had normal fasting, and a A1C of 5.5. After pushing some, I got a glucose tolerance test. At 1 hour I tested at 118. At 2 hours I was at 98. This is confusing.

Avatar f tn However, I do have "pre diabetes" which I have had for over 10 years, so nothing new here. My A1C was 5.3. My numbers ever 1/2 hour were a little lower than what my monitor read. So, maybe it's my monitor? I don' tknow. But I"m putting it away for a while and not thinking about it LOL! So, that's that. So, what I still and only have is "neuropathy in my feet".
