Examples are a heavy carb loaded meal, foods with msg or sodium, fats and sugar can all cause palpitations. Stress can as well. Do you now have a cycle of eating and then stressing? Do you keep a food journal?

On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?

Avatar f tn You want to speak with your doctor soon, so that you can get your sugars regulated either by diet and exercise or medications if that is what is recommended. It also might be helpful to keep a food journal until you see your doctor. It will give you and a doctor a record of what you have eaten and you can see how it affects your blood sugar. But my question is has anyone here ever had the same issue. From most of the stories I have read type one present super fast and child sugars are normally at dangerous level before the parent finds out. The highest hers has been was 203. 3 hours after eating. And from time to time she will get ok results.
Avatar m tn Finally, keep your doctor informed of changes with your BG by keeping a food journal and glucose journal(few free apps out there to help). Keep in mind, diabetes can be diet controlled but some people may need help, like meds, especially if it's hereditary. SMALL steps, reap BIG results!

Here is my Q: Does anyone have advice for how to get started with this? I had a bad experience in my early teens when keeping a food journal was forced upon me. I HATED IT SOOOO MUCH.

I would love to see an indication of which posts were "initial questions" that is, started by that person. Those are most often the ones containing the most information.

Avatar f tn If so, reduce to 1/2 cup portions at a time and be sure to eat chicken, fish, lean beef, etc. If you are carb sensitive, it also means that eating a whole banana will make you sleepy too - instead of ENERGIZING you. So, cut it to 1/2 but ADD a protein to it. I've gone from 450 to 262 - I know what I'm talking about. The 'diets' out there are useless. SUGGESTION - get a journal book - write what you eat - YES BUT focus on what makes you sleepy or sluggish.
