Common Questions and Answers about Carb cycling bulking

carb

Avatar m tn For fast weight gain, try protein shakes and specialty foods geared towards bodybuilders in the 'bulking' phase, as well as refined carb-heavy foods like pasta and bread, and high fat snacks like cheese and preserved meats. I also highly reccomend peanut butter. Add three teaspoons of peanut butter a day to your diet and you'll be heavier in a flash.
Avatar m tn My guess is your blood sugar cycling up and down. Unless you take blood sugar measurements throughout the day, you will not know it, as one reading only does not tell the whole story. Have you noticed any pattern with what you eat and dizzy spells? For example, if you eat protein+fat breakfast (eggs, cheese, bacon, etc) versus a carb rich one (low fat muffin), you would likely feel better with protein+fat and otherwise dizzy with carb rich meal (which causes blood sugar cycling).
652407 tn?1300737199 Big legs seem to run on my moms side of the family and it is god aweful for me trying to keep my legs in shape with out bulking them up. I need help with how to lose the fat in my legs... it seems that eerything goes strieght to my legs and I'm getting tired of exercising and eatting healthy with no results there. I'm in great shape, I cycle and do other exercises daily.... Any tips or advise? Thank you!
Avatar f tn As you start getting more fit, consider stepping it up to add yoga, jumping rope (most slimming exercise on the planet because it slims without bulking up muscles), or the Insanity workout. When exercising, think about posture. Shoulders back, head up, abs in.
Avatar m tn I do 15 Mins of treadmill (avg 10 speed), 10mins of cycling followed by 5 mins of skipping (rope jumping) everyday. After that I do 1hr of weight training (single body pary) 5 days a week. Would this schedule help me lose weight. P.S I do follow a diet, but mostly I tend to binge eat once or twice a week max.
484167 tn?1210001396 anyone heard of this? about "cycling" calories and giving up on low fat/carb diets?
1094370 tn?1317134825 There are a couple of formulas out there that you can put in a drink or food that are clear and non bulking - unfortunately I don't know them off-hand. If you can tolerate oatmeal for breakfast.. that's a good one, a good carb to get you going in more ways then one lol.
767435 tn?1235759815 I think heavy weights would be good for you. It gives you curves in all the right places. If you have never lifted, there is a book that has a great program, it is call The New Rules of Lifting For Women. The program in the book is 6 months long. Muscle building takes time so it will not happen overnight, but if you are new to lifting you will see some changes pretty quickly.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am also trying to lose some weight, and it's just-stay healthy. I workout almost every day,or at least I try to do some walking or cycling when I don't have the time, and you need to watch your calories. But that's not it,tou have to make sure you get the good calories, not the empty ones that are in cookies and such. Women's health mag helps me a lot, too!
1285110 tn?1420147378 For bulking i normaly go with a 4000 kcal diet of 40% Pro, 40% carbs and 20% fat Although in my next bulking period i plan to do some experementing with other precentage ranges. For loosing weight or more percisly cutting i go with a diet of around 2300 kcal of 60% fat, 35% pro and 5% carbs. This works really well for me.
Avatar f tn your blood sugar may be cycling up and down, which may suggest eating a way that reduces the cycling. To do this, eat low carb diet, moderate protein and balance of calories from fat. Stabilizing your blood sugar will likely help the ups and downs you are experiencing after eating.
Avatar n tn For example, you can increase light exercise (walking/ cycling), make sure you eat light meals, drink a tall glass of water every hour throughout the day, use a natural stool softener or herbal colon cleanser capsule, and add more veggies/fruit to your diet. Stay away from heavy, carb laden foods and stimulant laxatives. If none of these suggestions seem to help, speak with your doctor for further advice.
Avatar n tn I exercise a lot, jog for 4 kms (non stop almost) 4 times a week, do weights, stretches, cycling etc, Have a well regulated diet. Fasting sugar always is below 110. PP was earlier 130. Have diabetics in hereditary. I am 5.3 in ht and weigh 64 kgs. What could be the reason ?
Avatar f tn Is it the bulking kind or a stool softener? The bulking kind like metamusil is better for long time use. The other, stool softeners, impact your ability to go without the softener and you need higher doses for efficacy. They are safe during pregnancy though (in fact, I was told to use them occasionally then to help with constipation). When I first wanted to conceive, I met with my ob/gyn and talked about it. They gave me advice on things that help, things that make it harder.
850029 tn?1238857820 I'm looking for suggestions. I am a personal care attendant for a young man with Autism. Actually, I do respite and he stays weekends with me every few weeks. I've known the young man and his family for 6 years. Every so often (6 months or so) the young man will seem to cycle like someone with Bipolor might. He seems to just loose all control of what he doing. I am so lucky that the kid is so well behaved that even at his worst, he actually pretty good.
2053729 tn?1330435506 I have been watching what I eat following a high carb/low carb diet every other day. According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
722414 tn?1230835009 My “shorty” Jack Russell Terrier has a large leiomyoma (11 by 9 cent.) It’s in his gastro-intestinal; attached to his colon they think. We discovered during a routine x-ray a year ago. It was much smaller then. We should have gone ahead with surgery but the Vet said we can wait and think about it –‘but it could grow.” Well it did and I feel terrible. They say it's inoperable. Winston is a happy, energetic lil feller.
Avatar f tn I have read the book, or at least most of it. But it sounded fishy to me too. The strict diets, having to take time off from work, guaifenesin.............didn't try it. If you find anyone who has, I would be interested in their response too. The best I've had any results with is Lyrica for the nerve pain. It does help me. I've gain a few lbs, but I also quit smoking, so not sure which was the cause . Low carb diets do seem to help with fatigue.
Avatar f tn Sounds like your girlfriend should adopt a low carb diet, in order to reduce incidences of blood sugar cycling up and down. The more stable the blood sugar level, the less cycling up and down, which is causing her to feel sick. It's hard to manage insulin and medications to counteract ingesting large amounts of carbohydrates. So, if she stops eating high amounts of carbs, less need to counteract with meds. Try a day in two low carb, and you will see the difference.
Avatar n tn Much depends on what kinds of steroids you are talking about, how much, and for how long. Recreational steroids, so to speak, for bulking up, are probably not good for heart health. You can google that, too. Interestingly, though, one recent study of medical steroid use after ablation for atril fib indicates that such use may help to prevent recurrence: http://www.theheart.org/article/1139047.
Avatar n tn I don't think your son needs a shake per se. He should be bulking up on protein and calories. It doesn't really matter which form. I always think the less processed food the better, but if your son prefers powdered protein, it is not really dangerous, it just has a lot of unnecessary additives and I find them difficult to digest. It is important to eat some sort of protein within a half an hour of working out to repair any muscular damage that has occurred.
Avatar f tn What if you went in not talking about muscles and training, but about things like low sex drive, depression, fatigue, and erectile dysfunction? Treating clinical symptoms is different than treating fitness issues. Your doc seems to think it's about fitness or athletic issues, not medical or clinical symptoms. If he still won't treat you, find a new doc.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had experiences with rapid cycling, with cycles that last hours or days? I was extremely hyper and had racing thoughts and was elated the other day, then I felt ok but lazy for a few days, then depressed for a couple of days and super tired, and now I am extremely irritable and I keep getting mad and yelling at people and just about everything.
573297 tn?1304709140 I got diagnosed by my GP originally as Bipolar II with Rapid Cycling. This new pdoc that my GP referred me to says I am in fact Bipolar I ....so there is no dispute about having the bipolar....just the difference of opinion in which one I am. The pdoc says that normally Bipolar II doesn't cause you to spend all this money.....so... However when I mentioned the rapid cycling he said that was just my personality. First of all, with what has been going on lately....
