OMG zofran is the best medicine ever made! Im still taking it and im almost in my third trimester lol. Although it does cause some constipation but its better than throwing up constantly.

This is my first pregnancy. Im now 23 weeks and still vomiting. Its so bad they prescribed me zofran. Ive been taking it ever since I entered my 2nd trimester.Ive been told there is lawsuits with this medicine as it causes birth defects. Any advice?

i dont know maybe they are looking for something to blame for their babys problems which is understandable but i dont know why doctors would still be prescibing this to pregnant women if they think it can cause birth defects...birth defects happen sometimes for no reason so i dont know if id blame this drug as it could just be one of things too..

Call your doctor. I have had that and it was just horrible morning sickness that they gave me zofran for but it's always best to let your doctor know so they can make sure it's nothing else.

Talk with your doc. I was miserable and was given Zofran to relieve the sickness. It has worked wonders.

Ladies dont take zofran!! The medicine used for morning sickness. There was a recall. It doubles the risk of birth defects when used in the first trimester. I'm not a dr/nurse or in the medical field of any sort... i saw it on tv and Googled the recall is all.

So when I got to the hospital my doctors prescribed me zofran, and I have heard about the recent studies shown and so I asked them and they told me it was okay to take as long as your out of your first trimester. Im only taking it if I feel sick so that I can eat because as we all know not eating can be just as dangerous! :( and I need to eat for my baby GIRL! (We found out in the hospital! :) ) but I was wondering if anyone has been taking this and if you have heard other things about it?

t do enough so after a few stays in the hospital the doctor decided to give me both, I was around 15 weeks I believe. Zofran and reglan together work great for me! I still throw up about once a day but sometimes I can go the entire day not throwing up. I've been able to GAIN about 15 lbs. before I was on both I kept dropping weight since nothing would stay down. For a while all I could eat was cereal too and then out of nowhere I became lactose intolerant.

zofran is safe :). there are 2 nausea medicines that are considered safe for pregnancy, and zofran sounds like the better choice for you (since phenergan makes you sleepy, and that's the other option, i think it would freak you out!). every medicine is going to carry warnings, and there will be people who SWEAR that this medicine caused this or that...but that's the internet for you. it is considered safe, and your OB only prescribed it because they felt it was safe....

I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?

Yes I take zofran but my dr said its normal. Im not dehydrated that's for sure. But this is my 4th child and I might be getting ready for labor is wat my dr had said. So I see her Monday morning....

she just was in the hospital for un related issues and now they gave her zofran and shes 8 months old so im pretty sure it must be pretty safe if they gave it to her

I keep seeing this ad on tv about zofran causing birth defects and other serious problems. Im freaking out because i was prescribed zofran in my first trimester!!!!! Any one else seen this ad and or taking zofran?!

My first resort was b6+unisom, advised from doc. Helped most of the time, but in extremes 8took phenergan. Was also given zofran but it can cause severe constipation. If you don't feel safe taking it, don't. Do some research & find out what you feel comfortable taking.

Im taking that now for my nauseous it helps me a little but i still feel like throwing up no matter what i take

I had to take it for months it will keep you from being sick.

I do agree hun talk to your ob about zofran. I've had bad nausea this whole pregnancy and I'm 36w+3d and on zofran and it helps so much.

they may be willing to prescribe you zofran or phenergen, but you have to tell them that the reglen doesn't work for you. some OBs won't prescribe the other two i mentioned, but some will, so you just have to give it a shot. Have you tried any home remedies? (i.e. eating small, light, more frequent meals...ginger ale or ginger root tea, sucking on ice cubes, eating crackers/toast?) they sometimes help more than medicine....but sometimes not.

t eat anything because its what help me be able to eat without it im extremely sick because I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Trying to pay for the medicine out the pocket is very high now I don't know what to do. Im pissed cause it's not even my fault that I got kicked off smh now I have to Suffer and be dehydrated.

I saw it also. im 35 weeks and have taken it my whole pregnancy. im irritated with the doctors of course but had ultrasound two weeks ago. baby girl has beautiful lips and her heart seemed just fine also so I hope that helps a little!

Started puking up blood bc the acid in the bile I was Puking up ate up the Lining of my esophagus had to be hospitalized for several days. I was hooked up to iv zofran and stuff to hydrate me. Had to take zofran pills rest of pregnancy bc unlike most ppl who get this it goes away aRound 24 weeks mine never did I was still throwing up right up to my due date. I really hope you get better. Untreated this can cause pRoblems. You need hydrated and help asap huny.
