I had no idea that I was sleeping so poorly, especially after hearing about so much fatigue from my friends here. I can wake up and actually be awake!! I still shake, twitch, jerk and am quite tingly. But sleeping well sure makes it all more manageable... So for those of you with sleep disorders, or that think you might, ASK about Mirapex!

Thanks for the info I have not tried requip, I do know it is similiar to mirapex, it increases the dopamine in the brain and when you have to much dopamine it can cause addictive behaviors. Since off mirapex I have no thoughts of gambling and have not gamble in a while. If you google mirapex or requip possible side effects, addictive behavior or OCD. I appreciate all the feedback from both of you.

Have a glass of milk or read a book before trying to sleep. Don’t watch TV or do exercise before sleeping. Condition yourself that you can relax and that you can sleep well. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

I also take Mirapex and it works well for me. I also have eaten bananas and that helps...google rls and see if you can find any other ideas.

I had been having a lot of unexplained symptoms such as tremor, muscle twitching and jerking, tingling in my extremeties and severe eye pain and facial numbness. Migraine was ruled out. Since I started on the mirapex most of my symptoms have either gone away completely or greatly diminished. Could they have been simply caused by the sleep deprivation? Thanks for your time.

I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.

Do you have any personal experience with this drug? My Neuro said something about it, at my last visit. I am currently taking a muscle relaxant, but find I cannot get through a day without pain medication, due to chronic pain in my legs. I would appreciate any info on Mirapex that you could give me. Personal experience seems to be much better than what the drug company's advertise about the drug.

How wierd we can be nuerologically I hgess. A couple years back I believe I had RLS for a very, very short time as a result of some medication I was on. I can not imagine having to live your entire life like that if that is what I had. Mostly starting in the evening, it wasn't so much the urge to move my legs as it was the fact that there was so much pain involeved. Hard to describe. This PLMD is a new diagnoses some some years later. Does the Mirapex make you nasuseas?

Same thing happened to me and my doctor told me at least they knew i could get pregnant so dont worry you will. Its sad i would cry so much but i had a little girl after that shes about to be 3 and now I'm expecting another one. My husband and I just got into a huge argument because he accidentally threw away my baby girls ultrasound pictures. I had them in an envelope because I was taking them to work to show people, and he mistakenly thought it was trash while he was cleaning and threw them out. First, let me say how glad I am to have come across this site. It is great to be able to track the pain and other symptoms that I experience with my illness. This makes it much easier to keep track of what I need to talk to the doctor about since memory is also something that I have difficulties with. I am not sure how I found out about your site, but am thinking that it would be excellent if doctors would give the URL out to their patients to help track symptoms.

Somebody is prescribing the Mirapex, so that doctor should be helping you. I have had a lot of success with the AutoImmune Protocol (AIP) diet. Good luck.

Chronic pain is treated with antidepressants and narcotics and other stabilizing meds - SO that would be a good indication that if you can target the correct transmitter then you may beable to figure out what causes fibromyalgia. Tuck: I'm aware of everything you mentioned - I will disagree with you on the "years of education" thing.

I do know that taking an antidepressant without a mood stabilizer can cause mania, also I take Mirapex (a dopamine drug) to help treat my fibro and I'm under "special watch" because the dopamine meds can cause mania even in people that aren't bipolar. My husband was taking Mirapex as well for his fibro and he had to stop because it made him feel manic, and he's not bipolar. So I can't speak for the seratonin, but the dopamine can definitely make someone manic.

You can do it! It is hard, but you are strong and have the strength within you.
