bystolic

Avatar n tn that have created an atmoaphere of distrust from folks like me that need advice from someone that cares more for their patients than for their pocketbooks. You are a disgrace to the medical field.
Avatar m tn I have been taking bystolic for several years and for me it seems to work much better than atenolol or lopressor, without all the side effects. I have had to up my dosage a couple of times and right at first my stomach will feel a little off and I may get a very slight headache but it goes away quickly.
Avatar m tn My doctor suggested bystolic. It has worked very well for the last year, I have been very pleased with it. In fact, I didn't switch my insurance this year because the alternative company did not want to authorize the use of the bystolic (it's a lot more expensive). I have had no side effects to speak of, much less than the atenolol. I would certainly give it a shot.
Avatar m tn I developed a very mild form of tinnitus recently. I have suffered from migraines with aura for over 20 years. Iam a 43 year old male. These migraine auras were bad and quire prolific up until my mid 30s then tapered off to where I would get two or three a year. U til this year wher I have had 6 already with two in three days. I know they are harmless but at the same time they are quite harrowing. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by these even though my neurologist reassure me.
116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?
1933354 tn?1323362834 I went on Bystolic for rapid beats and I think I'm onto something here regarding my GAD. I feel better! Could this really be the cure? I take half of a 5mg and my heart doesn't race alarming me that I am anxious. Now really smooth and feel much less GAD. If anyone else has had some good results by taking this please let me know.
Avatar f tn I take 20 mg in the morning with 125 mg of magnesium taurate then 5mg of Norvasc for HTN then take 10 mg of by Bystolic at night with 125 mg of magnesium taurate in between I take .5 Xanax in the morning and at night I have not had one PVC in the last three years I feel like a different human being!
Avatar m tn The only exception to this occurs when I faint and then begin dry heaving- during these episodes, I out for a minute or two. I have severe migraines since age 17, now 30. Fainting makes the headache a lot worse. -I have seen several cardiologists about this problem. I had a loop recorder implanted in 2010 by Dr. Grubb. The only abnormality is tachycardia which occurs when I faint.
Avatar n tn If you have benign palpitations I would stay away. I was switched to bystolic, which has worked well for me where toprol and atenolol didn't.
Avatar n tn She diagnosed me with hemiplegic migraines (without the headache), tried neurontin for symptom control which did not work. She told me not to worry and that I would just have to live with them. I am on 2.5mg of Bystolic for palpitations. The best way I can describe the symptoms is numbness...my limbs go numb at the same levels, (i.e. elbow and knee or wrist and ankle) it is always on my left side and very scary.
Avatar n tn ve been on metoprolol before, and had some awful side effects with that one, but the bystolic seems to tame those down quite a bit for me. I've only had two instances in which I could tell I was experiencing some slight side effects (dizziness, slight shortness of breath, pressure). I've also been told by my GP that, if I find myself with a rapid heart rate or back in A-fib, I can take another 2.5mg dose right then, since it's such a small dosage.
Avatar f tn My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar n tn Particularly since the 10mg Bystolic tablets seemed to be the “sweet spot” in terms of tolerability. And the Bystolic worked very well for my BP. I am a 41 year old male.
Avatar m tn On the 6th of October I had a Doctor's appointment. At this time during check in my BP was checked and was a little high. I believe it was somewhere around 151/80. Prior to this appointment I had been having my BP check on nearly a weekly basis since April this year. It had been running most of the time 115 up to130 with most being in the teens over 50s, 60s & 70s with most in the 60s. There have been a few highs such as 145/74, 141/70 & 139/77.
Avatar n tn I am a 63 female taking 10 mg Bystolic once in the evening. I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.
Avatar n tn Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.
Avatar m tn I was getting migraine headaches approx 12-15 times a month for a year and a half. I started taking Bystolic and the headaches are reduced to 2-3 times a month. I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?
Avatar f tn CTucker225 is right FDA approved 12/07. I tried Bystolic for three months it did not work for me. My heart rate increased and had sever dizziness, Had to stop was on 10 mg.
Avatar n tn I commented in an earlier post. I've been on BYSTOLIC (5 mg)for about 3 months. The 1'st side effect which I became aware of was sharp pain in my knees, and achy legs when using the stairs. These pains got better after about a month. Other side effects include weight gain, high cholesterol (on my last blood test TOTAL chol went from about 200 to 266),sexual side-effects (low libido),fatigue and worst of all my last blood pressure reading was high (150/100).
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been taking Bystolic for two month now. I am taking 2,5 mg a day. Which dosis did the dr. put you on? My resting heartrate was before taking the med around 80-90. Since taking the med 55-65. The dr prescribed me Bystolic for my blood pressure and the tachycardia (fast heartrate around 133 after eating) that I was getting. What Bystolic does is it helps prevent irregular heartbeats by making your heart beat more slowly and with less force which reduces your bloodpressure.
343006 tn?1314446471 well it worked for a while, but after time it came back again same old thing again, wondering if bystolic is that strong even at 2.5 mg daily ?? or could it be interacting with the verapamil im on as well ?? The cardio doctor more less threw in the towel on me ! and refues to deal with my problems. I also get from verapamil swelling of ankles - and bloating of belly conditions - clearly there is something wrong here! as I never had these problems before !
Avatar f tn I know that you have a nursing background but there are some hypertension specialists forum that mention that bystolic has been around in europe for a while and it is a good choice for those who cannot tolerate beta blockers. Blockers are not first choice treatment for hypertension but bystolic is okay, so a bit puzzled with your comment. And as you may know some people find a substantial decrease in panic and anxiety attacks when their hypertension is brought under control.
Avatar m tn I have taken Bystolic for 6 years. It worked really well up until the last year. Have had very few side effects.
280234 tn?1532986249 Hi, I'm a 33 year old Caucasian female. I'm 5'4, 145 lbs. I developed high blood pressure in 2002 (when I was 22)during the last months of pregnancy, & after the birth of my daughter. My OB then said I did not have Toxemia. I had a really difficult labor having her, and my BP got really high during the delivery. After the delivery, my BP started running higher than it used to, like about 154/95.
