byetta

502219 tn?1311357910 In March while following up on a case of Ludwigs Angina my enhanced CT scan showed.small non pathologically enlarged lymph nodes bilaterally with some inhomogeneity within the thyroid. I hadn't really worried about it until today when I saw a commercial for a law firm warning that the diabetic drug "Byetta" could cause thyroid cancer. I used this med for over a year in 2006 and was taken off because of other complications. Now I'm scared. Should I be?
Avatar n tn I used Byetta for a long time and I am not an expert or medical person. You are best to get the information from your doctor. Before I started using Byetta, I had to take classes from a nurse on how I had to inject Byetta into my stomach. It was prescribed by my Doctor. Byetta has side effects reported by some people but I had no problems with it other than the expense. It does give you a feeling of fullness and it has a nickname (Spit).
Avatar m tn Like byetta or something. Also I read that crf causes insulin resistance. Any ideas?? His bs has been 350- 500 before adding fast insulin.
Avatar m tn I would really like some help with this. Byetta has been wonderful so far, and I've lost 30 lbs, yay! But now I've developed insomnia - terrible, only 3 hours of sleep a night insomnia, which has never bothered me before. If I skip my second Byetta shot for the day, I can usually get a full night's sleep. So that's certainly a clue that I may not be able to take the full two doses of Byetta a day.
Avatar f tn I see that this is under juvenile diabetes, which I know even less about. But, Byetta is remarkable for a lot of folks, and there are two newer, similar, products available also.
178107 tn?1315947630 Has anyone used Byetta? I started taking it four weeks ago and it has done wonders on controling my blood sugars and I have also lost 16 pounds. My doctor told me that it may help me to drop a few pounds, but I never thought it could help that much. I admit it does make you nausious, but I can take that for the weight loss.
Avatar n tn I actually started on Victoza about 3 months ago. I had to change to Byetta in about 2 weeks (finished Victoza sample and insurance would only pay for Byetta). I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.
Avatar n tn I take a variety of different medications to help with my blood sugars. The two main ones that I take are Metformin and an inject-able pen medication called Byetta. Both help me to keep my blood sugars to a manageable level. I can't really tell you exactly how to keep your blood sugars from spiking during the morning. Each persons metabolism is a bit different from each other so what may work for me, may not work for you.
Avatar f tn Yes, you definietly should be carrying and epi-pen. You also need to see an allergist and start with some allergy testing ASAP. Needless to say, stay away from all the things you know will cause a reaction.
Avatar n tn Has the doctor taken you off of Byetta? I am on byetta and just found out I am pregnant. I am scared that something could go wrong. I have waited 7 years to concieved. Have you heard of any damaging side effects with Byetta? I am off now and only 4 weeks pregnant. I just know what to think.
Avatar f tn My fasting glucose level has increased in the last month. I've been taking my meds as directed and my diet has remained the same. I've been injecting Byetta for nearly two years (twice a day). My husband saw that there is a class action suit against the manufacturer because of side effects, damage to the pancreas. I did some reserch on line and found there are all kinds of side effects, damage to the kidneys, liver and G.I. issues.
Avatar f tn I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with type II diabetes 3 months ago. I was started on byetta at the routine initial dose which was increased 2 months ago. I am only taking byetta, and no oral hypoglycemics (metformin, etc.)I have lost 29 lbs in that length of time, primarily due to decreased appetite, nausea, and vomiting. I understand that this is in all likelyhood due to delayed gastric emptying. My question: Is this ever going to get better???
Avatar n tn I didn't respond to your question. I don't know anything about Byetta.
Avatar f tn Your brother sounds like he is highly allergic to peanuts. He should be carrying something called an EPI PEN. Your brother's family doctor needs to write him a prescription for an EPI PEN and show him how to administer the EPI PEN . EPI stands for epinephrine. Your brother needs to discuss his peanut allergy with his family doctor. You and your brother should also not buy any bakery goods in a store as these often contain traces of peanuts and other nuts.
Avatar n tn Are you a type 1 or type 2 diabetic? He is type 2 he started taking a new medication called byetta. You inject in your arm before you meals. My husband has lost 40 lbs in the last 6 months. He just can't eat like he used to since he has been on the byetta. It curves your appetite and apparently helps your body produce it's own insulin. It might be something you want to run by your endo doctor. Let me know.
475740 tn?1208262865 Ask about getting Byetta. I had the same problem with metformin. The byetta has controlled my blood sugars and my pcos.
Avatar f tn i have 15 byetta prefilled pens 10mg for sale as i no longer need them maybe their some one what them and they are all store in cooler/fridge.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your reply, I'm aware of Symlin and Byetta, but neither My Dr. and what information I can gather on the web works as well as Victoza. I understand Byetta is coming out with a medication that lasts much longer but it uses a larger needle and is truly an injection. Don't understand why these drug companies in the US price their product out of reach of most....
Avatar m tn t seem to be experiencing the usual side effects (nausea, headache) others do or that I did when I was on Byetta (I was told Victoza is very similar to Byetta) a few years ago. However ... and this happened to me on a prior med (I forget which one) about 6 months ago, but I started feeling pretty severe anxiety: my face is flushed, my heart is racing, I have a knot in my stomach, and I started getting paranoid (like thinking a friend was going to betray me) for no reason whatsoever.
645390 tn?1338555377 We r being extra cautious again (which was a lesson well learned), and he is now carrying his own epi pen. We have them in house, cars, school, but he has never carried one. He now realizes this is a life threating issue, not just some type of strange reaction. I hope this never happens again, but never say never. I wish you luck, and never to be afraid of using the epi pen . It won't hurt him. That was my hubby's fear anyway.
Avatar f tn I carried super low and I had a baby girl. Ever baby and everybody is different.

Avatar f tn I started taking Glucophage and Byetta. My cycle started to come down on a monthly basis. I got off of both these medications maybe 8 months ago and now I am back to the missed months again. I am also taking Maxide for my high blood pressure and I take it every single day, faithfully. In Januray my cycle was fine (usually lasts 4 days) and then in February, I started seeing lighter menstruation. In March, it skipped.
