byetta

489891 tn?1209058786 I have to go on a very strick diet and for the first month i lost month and a half i lost 15 pounds. Now a year before the hospital my weight was close to 400 when checking in to the hospital i was 280 and checking out i was 300 lbs. Now in Dec i gained weight 22 pounds, in jan i lost 13 pounds being just a little under what i was released from the hospital with. That wasn't the problem, the problem is now in feb i gained 16.6 and in march gained 12.6 and so far this month gained 11.
Avatar m tn I would really like some help with this. Byetta has been wonderful so far, and I've lost 30 lbs, yay! But now I've developed insomnia - terrible, only 3 hours of sleep a night insomnia, which has never bothered me before. If I skip my second Byetta shot for the day, I can usually get a full night's sleep. So that's certainly a clue that I may not be able to take the full two doses of Byetta a day.
Avatar n tn I used Byetta for a long time and I am not an expert or medical person. You are best to get the information from your doctor. Before I started using Byetta, I had to take classes from a nurse on how I had to inject Byetta into my stomach. It was prescribed by my Doctor. Byetta has side effects reported by some people but I had no problems with it other than the expense. It does give you a feeling of fullness and it has a nickname (Spit).
Avatar f tn My fasting glucose level has increased in the last month. I've been taking my meds as directed and my diet has remained the same. I've been injecting Byetta for nearly two years (twice a day). My husband saw that there is a class action suit against the manufacturer because of side effects, damage to the pancreas. I did some reserch on line and found there are all kinds of side effects, damage to the kidneys, liver and G.I. issues.
Avatar f tn Not a pill, but you may want to discuss Byetta with your MD. It is an injection with the tiniest needle you will ever see, taken 30-60 min prior to breakfast and dinner. It helps with blood sugar and takes away your appetite by making you feel full. There are also two newer products. Good luck.
178107 tn?1315947630 I don't take anything with it, only the Byetta twice a day.
Avatar n tn The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.
Avatar n tn Are you a type 1 or type 2 diabetic? He is type 2 he started taking a new medication called byetta. You inject in your arm before you meals. My husband has lost 40 lbs in the last 6 months. He just can't eat like he used to since he has been on the byetta. It curves your appetite and apparently helps your body produce it's own insulin. It might be something you want to run by your endo doctor. Let me know.
Avatar f tn About two months ago, it got so bad, I had to buy a suppository laxative... It helps a lot, but it still is a pain. I also get diarrhea a couple of days later, but it's not as painful or as bad as the constipation. Outside of these times, I usually can go every day or every two days. I eat foods with lots of fiber, changing my diet, and I can never predict when this will happen.
Avatar n tn Hello =) I'm 34 years old and am about to begin my first cycle with the ovulation drug clomid. I'm a type 2 diabetic, have PCOS, and I have PSVT. I take Byetta, metformin, and metoprolol. I have been working with my Dr. for about 18 months to loose weight (I've lost over 60 lbs), get my blood sugar under control (my last 2 AICs were normal), and get medically ready to have a child. Last week he told us he feels comfortable with my heath for my husband and I to try to get pregnant.
502219 tn?1311357910 In March while following up on a case of Ludwigs Angina my enhanced CT scan showed.small non pathologically enlarged lymph nodes bilaterally with some inhomogeneity within the thyroid. I hadn't really worried about it until today when I saw a commercial for a law firm warning that the diabetic drug "Byetta" could cause thyroid cancer. I used this med for over a year in 2006 and was taken off because of other complications. Now I'm scared. Should I be?
Avatar m tn Hello, obviously you are having a problem tolerating byetta, and given that this is now 3 months and you have lost so much weight, I would think it may be rational to ask your doctor if you can stop this medication and try something different? Why did your dr. not decide to start you on Metformin? Have you been monitoring your blood sugars (while on byetta)? What is your fasting and post-eating blood sugars. What was your Hba1c when you started this med?
Avatar f tn m high risk so I get them once a month
Avatar n tn It is certainly a possibility, but nobody on an online forum can diagnose you. Why don't you make an appointment with the doctor and get tested?
Avatar m tn Mine initial cost was $92 for 3 pens ( a 1.5 month supply). It dropped to $68 with this program. Better yet, I shopped pharmacys and found that when I switched from Walgreens to CVS i will actually only pay $48/1.5 months due to CVS's lower pricing. Check the Victoza website. They have a few programs to help people with the cost of this medication. Hope this helps!
475740 tn?1208262865 I started metformin about 3 weeks ago. My side effects diminished within about a week and a half. I took a dose with food at breakfast and another dose at dinner. I just kept telling myself that in the drug statement paperwork it said "your doctor has prescribed this medication because he/she has weighed the benifits greater than the risks or side effects". I take it for diabetes and PCOS.
Avatar n tn HELP!!! I have two teenaged boys ages 13 and almost 15 who are overweight. My oldest who is almost 15 is pre-diabetic. My husband is a newly diagnosed diabetic and has it under control with Byetta and diet. I have 4 other children ages 5 to 12 that are very thin. For the last 3 years, we have done the following to try and help their weight. Going to the gym before school 3-5 times a week - inlcuding a regular "boot camp class" and running at least a mile every time we go.

Avatar f tn 2 months back, I had a spoting and went to see my doctor.I had a urine test done which showed a negative pregnancy but my blood work showed hcg levels to be 25 which was very low and thats the reason y it dint show up on urine test.My OB/GYN did an ultrasound and said its a chemical pregnancy and that resulted in a miscarriage. For people with PCOS like us, its hard to predict anything without proper tests. So its better u confirm with a blood work and an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn My eyelid swells up for a whole day every month. It happens only once a month and graduallt it comes back to normal size. What is the cause for this illness ?

Avatar f tn I spoke with the Dr. I was told I have a Hemangioma, which is a benign tumor on my Liver. I am going to see a Liver Surgeon on Thursday, We will then set a date for Surgery, due to the pain its causing. Thank you for feedback!
194838 tn?1303428544 Thankyou very much for the info, I am struggling a bit trying to control my blood glucose and hoping the Byetta my GP has recently started me on will help me.
233616 tn?1312787196 slow withdrawal 1/4 reductions at a time each month (half dose landed me inER so go skow here. added physical therapy to mitigate pain. 2. added silymarin (milk thistle) to scrub liver and blood of these drug toxins and otheres 3. added melatonin to replace the Ambien, stepped up that dosage as I lowered the mabien dosage 4. raised my HDL considerably, to head off issues with remeron withdrawal which also was lowered in 1.4 dose increments. Overall cholesterol now 150, not 110 s before.
Avatar m tn t seem to be experiencing the usual side effects (nausea, headache) others do or that I did when I was on Byetta (I was told Victoza is very similar to Byetta) a few years ago. However ... and this happened to me on a prior med (I forget which one) about 6 months ago, but I started feeling pretty severe anxiety: my face is flushed, my heart is racing, I have a knot in my stomach, and I started getting paranoid (like thinking a friend was going to betray me) for no reason whatsoever.
Avatar n tn However, my doctor pulled me off metformin because it sometimes messes with ALT levels, making it difficult to get an accurate picture of how liver enzymes respond to tx. I ate so little during tx, and a lot of it was ice cream. Nevertheless, for some reason - despite all the sugar in ice cream - my A1c was better during tx than it ever was before or after. Now, a year since finishing, I'm back on metformin and my ALT and ASt are wonderfully low (21 and 26 respectively).
Avatar f tn Lets say the binge went on for a year and happened on a frequency of around once a month. Every binge consisted over 10 units in 1 night. If this was cut down to the recommended 2-3 units on social occasions about once every few months only. Is this likely to have any effect?
