byetta

Avatar m tn I would really like some help with this. Byetta has been wonderful so far, and I've lost 30 lbs, yay! But now I've developed insomnia - terrible, only 3 hours of sleep a night insomnia, which has never bothered me before. If I skip my second Byetta shot for the day, I can usually get a full night's sleep. So that's certainly a clue that I may not be able to take the full two doses of Byetta a day.
178107 tn?1315947630 I also take the Byetta now. My doc started me on it in March and I too immediately began to lose weight. It also began to regulate my blood sugars, if fact one day my level was so low that the doc reduced one of my meds from 2 pills twice a day to 1 pill twice a day. I must admit though that when I initially started I had to force myself to eat, whereas I was overeating before. I have not experienced the nausea which many say comes with this med.
Avatar n tn I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.
Avatar f tn I see that this is under juvenile diabetes, which I know even less about. But, Byetta is remarkable for a lot of folks, and there are two newer, similar, products available also.
Avatar f tn My fasting glucose level has increased in the last month. I've been taking my meds as directed and my diet has remained the same. I've been injecting Byetta for nearly two years (twice a day). My husband saw that there is a class action suit against the manufacturer because of side effects, damage to the pancreas. I did some reserch on line and found there are all kinds of side effects, damage to the kidneys, liver and G.I. issues.
Avatar n tn Has the doctor taken you off of Byetta? I am on byetta and just found out I am pregnant. I am scared that something could go wrong. I have waited 7 years to concieved. Have you heard of any damaging side effects with Byetta? I am off now and only 4 weeks pregnant. I just know what to think.
Avatar f tn I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.
502219 tn?1311357910 In March while following up on a case of Ludwigs Angina my enhanced CT scan showed.small non pathologically enlarged lymph nodes bilaterally with some inhomogeneity within the thyroid. I hadn't really worried about it until today when I saw a commercial for a law firm warning that the diabetic drug "Byetta" could cause thyroid cancer. I used this med for over a year in 2006 and was taken off because of other complications. Now I'm scared. Should I be?
Avatar m tn My initial HgbA1c was 8. My fasting insulin level was high (sad to say I don't remember the number). I do random fsbs's twice a day, always below 200. The fasting bs's were between 130 and 150 initially, now usually between 100 and 120. The 2 hour post prandials are unpredictable (but always below 200).
489891 tn?1209058786 Ok I am a some what new diabetic released from the hospital 10-20-07 and because of diet, weight, and stress. I was working way to many hours and eating whenever I could. I have to go on a very strick diet and for the first month i lost month and a half i lost 15 pounds. Now a year before the hospital my weight was close to 400 when checking in to the hospital i was 280 and checking out i was 300 lbs.
Avatar n tn They often turn completely white and the bottom of my feet burn all the time due to poor circulation. Also if I do not get up and eat with in 5-10minutes in the morning I get very tired. One last thing is that I usually get no warning sign of being hungry. I feel full and fine and the next minute I feel like if I do not eat I am going to pass out. I get real shaky and hot and it gets hard for me to see straight. Any comments would help.
Avatar n tn Are you a type 1 or type 2 diabetic? He is type 2 he started taking a new medication called byetta. You inject in your arm before you meals. My husband has lost 40 lbs in the last 6 months. He just can't eat like he used to since he has been on the byetta. It curves your appetite and apparently helps your body produce it's own insulin. It might be something you want to run by your endo doctor. Let me know.
475740 tn?1208262865 Ask about getting Byetta. I had the same problem with metformin. The byetta has controlled my blood sugars and my pcos.
Avatar f tn i have 15 byetta prefilled pens 10mg for sale as i no longer need them maybe their some one what them and they are all store in cooler/fridge.
535822 tn?1443976780 The New York Post today has said that there is a push for the 9/11 Trial to go to Govenor's Island , A lower Manhatton Community board called on fed officails yesterday to move the trail of the terrorists to Govenor's Island and passed a resolution demanding the shift, in a hearing with Downtown Residents who loathe the idea of the threats that would ensue and the lockdown it would involve, this makes sense to me , what say you ....
Avatar m tn Besides Victoza there are two other injectable medications which are not insulin.Only your doctor should recommend medications not strangers on an Internet forum. Talk with him/her to see what medication is best suited to your needs.
Avatar m tn you know copy, I think we need a disclaimer in here for the metformin only for certain patients. The more I read about the drug the more concerned I got for myself as a patient. The reason was that at stage 4, and with allergy to lactose, the chances for lactid acidosis do go up. In general, I think most patients would benefit from adding the metformin during tx.
Avatar f tn I am 34 yrs old, I was admitted in the hospital the 1st wk of Aug. I was told I had pancreatitis, also they found a big bruise on my liver. When I asked what could have caused it, being I had no trauma to that area. I was told, I had back luck. Ever since they released me from the hospital I have pain along the right side, it runs to my back. I can no longer sleep on my stomach nor on my right side. I have an appt with a gastroenterologist this week. I am very affraid, Should I be????
Avatar m tn t seem to be experiencing the usual side effects (nausea, headache) others do or that I did when I was on Byetta (I was told Victoza is very similar to Byetta) a few years ago. However ... and this happened to me on a prior med (I forget which one) about 6 months ago, but I started feeling pretty severe anxiety: my face is flushed, my heart is racing, I have a knot in my stomach, and I started getting paranoid (like thinking a friend was going to betray me) for no reason whatsoever.
Avatar f tn In Januray my cycle was fine (usually lasts 4 days) and then in February, I started seeing lighter menstruation. In March, it skipped. In April, I spotted with dark brown blood (looked like old blood) for one or two days. Through all of this, I had no symptoms of a cycle. This month, I started bleeding on May 11th with the bright red and mucus spotting. It would stop for two days and then I would see my cycle only when I went to the restroom. It looks as if it is trying to come down.
Avatar n tn I ate so little during tx, and a lot of it was ice cream. Nevertheless, for some reason - despite all the sugar in ice cream - my A1c was better during tx than it ever was before or after. Now, a year since finishing, I'm back on metformin and my ALT and ASt are wonderfully low (21 and 26 respectively). I do know of people who kept up with the metformin throughout tx and did just fine. It's kind of questionable whether stopping it is necessary.
Avatar f tn txt Check out this link! Every now and then I just google Chiari and see if it is in the news anywhere! Sounds like someone or everyone here should do a bit more research!
Avatar m tn I am not on Insulin but rather a medication called Byetta. I must use the needle to inject the med but I do not have to regulate it as I believe those who use Insulin do. I simply must take it twice a day. Additionally, Insulin does not get rid of Diabetes - it is simply another attempt to control it. I hope someone with complete information can give you the answer you seek.
Avatar n tn Dear Debi, I am not a doctor and am not sure why an adrenaline rush would make your blood sugar drop so rapidly. I do believe that the Byetta you are taking might be a factor in your low blood sugars. Perhaps ypou need to talk to your doctor about lowering your insulin dose when taking the Byetta since this drug will increase the effectiveness of yor insulin. Many people find they can significantly reduce the amount of insulin they are taking when taking Byetta.
