buprenorphine nausea

I am in medical hospital and they want me to detox off methadone with help of buprenorphine does anyone know about this drug or used it . I am scared and need feedback ASAP.

My son started taking suboxone this morning starting with a half tablet and then another half at noon. He has been throwing up since then. Five times. Is this normal. We called the nurse and she said the nausea might be part of the withdrawals but my son said he didn't have nausea when he was having withdrawals. Has anyone else had this problem?

Can anyone help me with some knowledge of this medication????? I have a relative who's suffered badly for years and tried every clinic and therapy and medication and nothing helped till now. He's lately been prescribed this buprenorphine and he swears it's just about given him his life back. My question is it a narcotic, therefore addictive. Does it have the nasty side effects of oxy or other pain meds.

It's my understanding that a physician requires even more education when ordering either of these drugs than the usual opiate education. The medical documentation required is even more stringent. i am waiting to go on a buprenorphine maintenance prescription which will be next month.i have some buprenorphine tablets but when i take them i go straight into cold turkey.i have taken the buprenorphine tablets for a few years before but my prescription got stopped so i opted for the above tablets for the time being whilst im on the waiting list to go back on the buprenorphine.

I am currently using 8mg of buprenorphine,1800mg of gabapentin and 150mg of wellbutrin daily as medicine for pain management and nerve pain.Now I'cant obtain gabapentin anymore and would like to transfer to oxycodone 120mg daily as a substitute for buprenorphine and gabapentin.I would like to know is such change possible.

why cant i stay off the methadone for 3 days and than get a script for buprenorphine generic .and start my treatment detox at home. i do have a gp doctor.and i think he can do the buprenorphine program.

When I saw my pain management consultant a few months ago he put me on Buprenorphine Transdermal Patches, 10mg. ! patch to be put on for 7 days. This is in addition to the Oxycontin. The patch has recently been increased to 20mg. I have recently started reducing the Oxycontin in the view of coming off it totally. I have so far reduced it by 10mg. My Dr hase prescibed me Oxynorm 5mg, once a day, incase I experience withdrawal symptoms.

It is hard to know for sure, though, whether I am correct, or whether buprenorphine (the active part of Suboxone) lessens the total misery to some extent. We don't know how bad off you would be if you had not take Suboxone. The general belief of the treatment industry seems to be that buprenorphine does lessen the severity of withdrawal, but I am not convinced that it does that. I am an advocate of using buprenorphine for longer periods of time than for simple detox.

BUT Legal in Canada to obtain, (about the only useful thing here in pharmaceuticals in my opinion if it works). I spent $2000 and there was no trip, nausea, I was walking around, smoking, etc. My head felt weird and i was left with a broken heart and empty wallet! A treatment facility, may work, cause who knows if it was what they said it was. Next day i felt hit by a truck! I wish i would have waited 3 days, but straight back on methadone.

I just found out (not by being told) that my boyfriend has a buprenorphine addiction. I don't know exactly what that means but have researched and gathered that he is addicted to opioids and this is a drug that takes it place? Is this a drug that you take to wean yourself off? And if so, how long do you take it?
