1981227 tn?1336328438 I think we have talked about this stem cell treatment and the reversal in mice before but I don't remember the sugar study. Even if it is old news, it is always good to share because not everyone sees it the first time around. Thanks for passing these on.
Avatar n tn Ok I have a red tail boa and I feed him mice. I'm about a month pregnant and was wondering if its ok to handle the mice and clean out their tank? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Can anyone help me with some knowledge of this medication????? I have a relative who's suffered badly for years and tried every clinic and therapy and medication and nothing helped till now. He's lately been prescribed this buprenorphine and he swears it's just about given him his life back. My question is it a narcotic, therefore addictive. Does it have the nasty side effects of oxy or other pain meds.
Avatar m tn Do you have hepatitis A, B, and C? If you do you should discuss the effects of any medication on your other health conditions with your doctor. I did find this about subutux at livertox.nih.gov Hepatotoxicity Buprenorphine therapy has not been associated with serum enzyme elevations during treatment, although the populations studied (opioid addiction) often have coexisting chronic liver diseases which complicate such assessments.
Avatar f tn in liquid form before being made as Suboxone, which is easier to dose. Buprenorphine is used for pain, mostly in Europe-- a skin patch in the UK called 'buTrans' releases 5-20 micrograms of bupe per hour through the skin. Six years ago, in 2003, Suboxone became available in the US.
649848 tn?1534633700 Oh no, it sounds like you have quite a problem on your hands. Strange that things would start spring leaks now. Have they only recently been installed with wrong joints or have they been that way for years? For the mice - think about getting some peppermint oil and soak cottonballs with it to put around the house. I put them in glass bowls to prevent damage to any surfaces. That sure got rid of the mice in my Aunt's garage, even without sealing it up right away.
665881 tn?1248926997 and this is in mice - and mice don't get MS..... people do. Erin, I know you want to be excited about this, but there are lots of other developments that give us hope too. Don't get down waiting for a cure, ok?
Avatar m tn To examine Hoxb8’s effect, the researchers injected bone marrow from mice with mutant Hoxb8 mice into healthy mice. The healthy mice began licking themselves compulsively, pulling out their fur and creating sores. In turn, the researchers injected the mutant mice with healthy bone marrow, and these mice became non-obsessive.
Avatar m tn In conclusion… Prohep was effective in reducing HCC growth significantly in mice. Th17 was likely to be the major producer of IL-17 in the tumor microenvironment that has linked to HCC growth and angiogenesis, and its decrease in tumor was probably related to the reduced recruitment from the gut via circulation.
199177 tn?1490498534 Buprenorphine was first marketed in the United States in 1985 as a schedule V narcotic analgesic. Until recently, the only available buprenorphine product in the United States has been a low-dose (0.3 mg/ml) injectable formulation under the brand name, Buprenex®. Diversion, trafficking and abuse of other buprenorphine products have occurred in Europe and other areas of the world.
Avatar f tn dose of buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is used to treat pain in microgram doses; the BuTrans patch is used in the UK to treat pain, and it releases buprenorphine at a rate of 5-20 MICROGRAMS per hour! One tablet of Suboxone containes 8000 micrograms! So whether a person is taking one, two, three, or more tabs of Suboxone per day, he is taking a very large dose of buprenorphine--- a dose large enough to ascertain that he is up on the 'ceiling' of the dose/response curve.
2046312 tn?1360379600 The interaction appears to be dependent, in part, on the route of administration of buprenorphine. When administered transdermally, buprenorphine peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) were not significantly affected by ketoconazole, a potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitor.
Avatar n tn If Suboxone is injected, naloxone will block the effects of buprenorphine and lead to withdrawal symptoms in a person with an opioid addiction. When administered under the tongue as directed, naloxone will not affect the actions of buprenorphine.
649848 tn?1534633700 t seen this evidence in detail, he could see mice had been around) and has killed about seven mice since then, and this past weekend we vacuumed and mopped and removed all places where there was mouse evidence, and I've taken our cats over and they are at the farm now. But it feels kind of grim.
Avatar n tn How can I treat my cat with ear mice?
Avatar f tn re thinking of the problems with using Suboxone rather than Subutex for pain management. The active ingredient in both of them is buprenorphine, a partial agonist synthetic opiate. Suboxone also contains naloxone which is there as a deterrent to abuse like crushing and injecting the pill. Without the naloxone present, you have no worries about your doctors needing to increase narcotics in an emergency or post-op situation.
Avatar m tn do not come into contact with the dead mice their droppings or any surfaces the mice have come in contact with. U can contact a disease called lvcm which is dangerous to an unborn baby. Have a non pregnant person dispose of the mice and their droppings and clean infected areas with bleach to kill the virus. Also winterize ur home to keep them out and call in an exterminator. Also notify ur ob u have had contact with rodents so they can monitor things.
319532 tn?1250988576 Here's a statement from another website (http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jv6nh30O0e7ydhqQO0GGldkpxnkw)......."Strikingly, if it was given after the mice developed full-blown symptoms, lisinopril reversed their paralysis." This is the second real promising discovery i've seen in the past week or so.
Avatar f tn Buprenorphine is a thebaine derivative with powerful analgesia approximately 20-40x more potent than morphine. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist and antagonist of the opioid receptors in the central nervous system which means that when its molecule binds to a receptor, it will transduce only a partial response in contrast to a full agonist such as morphine. Buprenorphine has such a high affinity to the opioid receptors that the opioid receptor antagonists (e.g.
Avatar f tn After giving birth to my 2nd child, I had an MRI of my lower back to help determine the cause of low back pain. It showed a bulging disc and a herniated disc at L4-L5 and L5-S1. Underwent disc decompression and that corrected this. The pain was still there. My GP determined that the little fatty "knots" in my low back were back mice and began injecting them wtih lidocaine. This gave me temporary relief. I'm still having pain and the back mice are still there.

649848 tn?1534633700 Good morning. I hope you're having a great weekend. It's been raining here - seems like it's been days and days - actually, it has been. We've had something around 11" of rain this month. Some has come in small showers and some has come in downpours of 2" or more in a short period. I hate to complain of dealing with rain, when there are parts of the country/world who desperately need it.
Avatar m tn Subutex, which is composed of only buprenorphine, and Suboxone, which is a combination of Buprenorphine and Naloxone. It's my understanding that a physician requires even more education when ordering either of these drugs than the usual opiate education. The medical documentation required is even more stringent. Indeed it's now even more difficult to find a physician that will order Buprenorphine. The DEA is breathing down their necks.
134578 tn?1693250592 My cat has a new hobby, carrying live mice into the house in the middle of the night. He rarely seems interested in actually killing them, acting more like he does it for entertainment purposes. This includes chasing them around (including up the blankets into our bed), stepping on them to see if they will squeak, tucking them under our bed and forgetting they are there until they move around a day later -- evidently he thinks they are unusually animated toys, certainly not dinner.
Avatar m tn When I saw my pain management consultant a few months ago he put me on Buprenorphine Transdermal Patches, 10mg. ! patch to be put on for 7 days. This is in addition to the Oxycontin. The patch has recently been increased to 20mg. I have recently started reducing the Oxycontin in the view of coming off it totally. I have so far reduced it by 10mg. My Dr hase prescibed me Oxynorm 5mg, once a day, incase I experience withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn It is hard to know for sure, though, whether I am correct, or whether buprenorphine (the active part of Suboxone) lessens the total misery to some extent. We don't know how bad off you would be if you had not take Suboxone. The general belief of the treatment industry seems to be that buprenorphine does lessen the severity of withdrawal, but I am not convinced that it does that. I am an advocate of using buprenorphine for longer periods of time than for simple detox.
