Avatar f tn Budesonide is the generic name, i am on Entocort with contains budesonide, because budesonide is not sold generically in the state of new jersey. I have been on it for about 3 months now, but I was also on it for quite awhile a few years ago. I have never had anything but success with it. there are no side effects. I will be on it for another 2 months and my dr plans to take me off of it.

Avatar n tn I am regularly using Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. The only problem is breathlessness arising from throat tightness. I never wheeze in the life. The throat tightness is getting reduced when i take Ventolin. The doctor say i don't have to take ventolin beacause Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. will prevent the difficulty. But only medicines which seems to be working is Ventolin and Motelukast+LC.
456090 tn?1259694837 t know if this helps or not but my Gastro doc prescribed Entocort and Nexium to me. I also took Flagyl the first few weeks. That was an antibiotic. The Entocort is a steroid to help with the inflamation and ulcers and obviously the Nexium is for excess stomach acid. I guess it's working. I've been taking them for a few months now. They are still trying to figure out if I really have Crohns or not. If so, I guess I have a fairly mild form of it.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
Avatar n tn Can I ask you if you know anything about Entocort? My doctor told me to take this 3x day for 1 wk, 2x day for 1wk & 1x day for 1wk. Then I should see him again for another xray to see if the pill has passed. I am afraid of the affects of this steriod as I also have a stomach ulcer. Anyway, I have two little boys and I can't afford to have to side affects of this medicine on top of the panic I'm feeling over the certainty of another surgery.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and was prescribed Entocort. I have been on the drug for a week and a half and I am still having symptoms. Has anyone else tried this drug? How do you control the diarrhea? I keep taking Immodium but I still keep having issues and I still keep losing weight. I am having a hard time staying about 100 ibs and I'm 35 yrs old! All foods in the grocery stores are designed to help people lose weight.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?
17080824 tn?1453552185 t take any form of drugs. and do not smoke, do not drink and I am a vegetarian. Yes I am inhaling Budesonide Powder to tackle with chronic cough issue. Is it the reason then ? Thank you doctor for your reply and suggestion.
Avatar f tn Little is known about the long-term efficacy of inhaled corticosteroids in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We investigated the efficacy of inhaled budesonide on decline in lung function and respiratory symptoms in a 3-year placebo-controlled study of patients with COPD...... Inhaled budesonide was of no clinical benefit in COPD patients recruited from the general population by screening.
Avatar n tn About 13 years ago I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and took Entocort for about 4 years and am still taking Cell Cept. I did have an ultrasound on my thyroid in 2018 and no changes. I moved in 2019 and no longer have an endocrinologist. So, all the changes probably started around 2019. I I do have bloodwork. Everything was in normal range. I can attach a copy of the report tomorrow.
Avatar n tn For the immunosuppressant drugs to affect hiv testing it has to be taken in large dozes. I took Entocort (a sort of cortiosteroids) 2mg evey other day for 60 days shortly before my test and doctors say it's not interfering with hiv tests.
Avatar n tn My doc is always reading on new things coming out trying to help me w/my liver dz. He just recently found out that Entocort would be beneficial for me in taking the place of prednisone. I am on 9 mg. Well, where do I begin. Almost instantly I lost 19 lbs of water retention (due to prednisone). The entocort metabolizes in the liver unlike the prednison which travels everywhere causing osteoporosis, bone loss, etc. I feel great. I just spoke to him yesterday regarding my liver.
Avatar n tn Entocort, a steriod only for stomach and Xifaxin, an antibiotic for the stomach. Has he tried any of the ASA drugs, pentasa, asacol? Also there is 6MP and Flagyl.. THese have been around for some time and it is lock and key, some drugs work for some people. I agree, you should get on the crohns and colitus website, it will give you basic information in which to start and be able to ask your doc questions, be persistent.
Avatar n tn I have a dog with IBD and he takes a compounded steroid called Budesonide everyday plus an enzyme supplement called Prozyme and stays on a strict diet of a fish and pot dry kibble. He still flares up every few months with bloody diarrhea which then we start up sulfasalazine 3 times a day which usually calms things down within a few days and after a week or 2 he's back on track.
Avatar n tn He has been on budesonide for 4 weeks with no results. He also takes esomeprazole with no results. When she did the cameraoscopy she saw what she called white fuzz at the beginning of lower intestines. We did a round of fungal meds. No results. Can anyone help please.
Avatar m tn Hi granma, Your cat may also need some medication for her IBS. My cat takes Budesonide in liquid form everyday. She has the other problem of constipation, but I give her miralax. Ask your vet if the Budesonide would be indicated for this condition...I think she sounds like it is pancreatitis or Irritable Bowel. Fairly common in cats. My cat is also on Hills Z/D food only. I know some do not favor this food but it works for my cat along with the Busesonide....so I am a believer.
