I only have one warning and it is; when you have taken a beta blocker, say for over a year or so, your Autonomic nervous system has become adjusted to the overriding affects of the beta blocker.
I took the venlafaxine, but with low dose Zyprexa, 5 mg, but 2.5 would have probably been enough. It worked very well and i was able to give it all up once recovered.

Hi there, been going through various medication regimes now for the last 3 years after me depression 'insidiously' crept up on me to the extent that all the nicer part of me was gone and that was just getting by, carefully avoiding being 'out in the open' and retreating into myself.
I'm just asking this question as an addition to the previous question as i'm quite curious as to others past experiences as i'm up to max dose with the generic form, along with mirtazapine 45mg, but I still quite flat in mood, with little spontaniety and miss my normal self 'Zip' as otherwise I feel that it largely is working to a certain extent, but i'm still wanting more.
Are there any antidepressants that will make me more alert rather than sleepy and tired? This has been my experience with all the drugs I've tried so far. Budeprion being the last one and the worse cause it makes me so sleepy and lethargic, yeah too often I find myself sitting there as if lifeless, staring into space, feeling like a rock with no feelings or emotions...Are there any drugs that will give me more pep and energy instead of making me just wanna stay in bed all day?
my cholesterol is under control and at decent levels My blood pressure was borderline high in the past and I have been taking quinapril for a while now. (max dose). My blood pressure was better at ~ 120/90. I also take bupropion xl and was taking olanzipine. I have stopped the olanzapine, after long term use. Coming off the olanzapine, I have had more anxiety and more emotion, and have not slept very well. After stopping olanzapine, my BP was checked and was now high again at 148/110.
I have been on sr 150 for two months now and just switched to xl 300 as the sr was not doing anything for me. Should I be expecting a change for the better or are they the same?
I felt like it was a chore just to be intimate with my now husband...but stayed on the Effexor, on the max dose up until just a month ago until my doc started weaning me down from 400mg day to 200mg over a three week period because anyone on effexor knows that if you try going off effexor to quickly or cold turkey is a living hell! Her medication has recently been switched from Cymbalta to Budeprion XL 150 MG which is generic for Wellbutrin XL. She tried to kill herself a month ago after breaking up with her boyfriend and last week she made another attempt after he royally screwed up and made her think they were getting back together. She's been in counseling but today her doctor said she should see a psychiatrist. She's slept most of the day but now she's up and crying.
My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
I have taken 50 mgs of toprol XL for 12-13 years. It is a very safe and a good medication in my opinion. The XL means that it has an Extended Life .. in other words one pill is supposed work for at least 24 hours i think... but anyway... I dont know why the doc would say just use it when your rate is fast.. if you took one a day ....your heart rate should stay pretty regular Id think.. but Im not a doctor... I dont really know about taking it occassionally... doesnt make alot of sense to me..
I also have been competitively cycling and running since 1975 and now have been diagnosed with paroxymal atrial fibrillation. Resting pulse also 45. I have been on a low dose of Toprol XL-25mg which seems to help somewhat but I do notice that my heart rate is slow to come up while running and I still get some episodes of Afib which last about 24 hours. I tried a 50 mg dose of immediate acting metoprolol, the generic version of Toprol, and found running to be almost impossible.
I don't think there's anybody on the forum who could advise you whether to take Procardia XL or not. I think you should call your doctor and talk to the on-call doctor about this. None of us are medical professionals - even my husband who's a pharmacist would never give any advice w/out having all of the facts.

I have taken Propafenone at 225 mg three times a day and twice a day when I was in sinus following a couple of electrocardioversion. If you're following me, the cardioversions were not purminate...one time I was in sinus for about 18 months the other time for two years.
As far as I know a dose of Propafenone once a day will not do much, as the medication will "wear off" quickly. That's why I've taken as much as every 8 hours.
can you be switched from the time released once a day toporol xl 100mg to the less expensive metoprolol succinate 50mg twice a day to achieve the same effect
I take 200 mg of toprol xl (metoprolo er), 100 morning, 100 night. My tables can be broken in half to make a 50 mg dose, which I have also used. I'd guess your 50 mg toprol xl can be split in half to give you a 25 mg tablet. I'm not suggesting what dose you should use, just saying I think you have a way to take 25 mg accurately if that's what is needed.
I take the med to slow down my HR, driven by AFig. When in sinus I was taking 100 mg and had a rest HR of about 60.
