But is this normal. im worried about her.
Avatar m tn I got up from my seat and I must have stepped on one of its paws (or part of) because she made a sound and bit my leg. Now, I was wearing jeans and it was a quick bite, more like a nibble, no pain but stunned. Anyways, once I got back to my place I showered, cleaned my leg but found no bite mark... Except a tiny, pin-sized red spot that could very well be unconnected to the biting incident. Now my question is: should I be worried about rabies?
Avatar m tn Did the Vet mention what type of therapy? Since this is a small dog, I thing aquatic therapy would really benefit her and you should be able to use your bathtub. Ask your Vet if you can do that. Hard to explain in depth here, but look it up on the Internet.
1709813 tn?1309595050 Your dog is suffering and you really need to do something and quickly. One of the other members may be able to give you more info on a place you can get funding. I am not familiar with that myself.

Avatar f tn A few of you asked to be updated on the kitty cat I found (or I should, "Who found us!"). We just got back from the vet. He got vaccinated, medication for an infection in his ears, de-wormer stuff, and x-rays. The x-rays showed a BB pellet lodged in the cat's chest, but that isn't something we have to worry about. But I was absolutely livid inside when the vet told me.
536929 tn?1217872077 My experience on this...if a dog leg break, or knees problems, not all vets have the experience to perform the surgery needed to heal properly... I had a dog, who had your dog's issue, I followed the direction of my vet too like you..
Avatar m tn Actually, as a side thought, a friend and I were just talking today about a neighbor I had that asked if I would look at her dog as she had a sore foot or leg. I looked the dog over to find a dew claw nail had grown long enough to grow back into the pad. She didn't even know those nails were there. I assume, by now, you know if your dog dies or not have dew claws, ESP since it is a long hair breed. Wouldn't hurt to check.
774189 tn?1235410421 Honey, You gotta train your dog!! You know what you could do? You could post about it on the dog forum so they give you tips on how to train a dog to leave a cat alone. I can't remember any tricks :( It's been a long time since I have owned a dog, like 9 years. The last one was a German Shepherd and she got along with the cats pretty well.
Avatar n tn we have a 4 1/2 pound 5 year old male pom that started draging his right hind leg last night . nothing seems broken or out of place and it doesn't seem that he is in pain?
Avatar f tn As a teacup poodle, do you have her clipped in a fancy poodle cut with the pompoms around the ankles and the paws shaved? The reason I ask is because depending on who grooms your dog, if you get a classic poodle cut with the pom poms around the ankles, I have known groomers who shaved the paws with a surgical blade to take them down very close. The problem is using this type of blade on the paws (or anywhere else, for that matter) can cause razor burn, especially between the toes.
Avatar f tn My own dog took this after a broken leg and it did her so much good. In damp weather she had started to favour that leg a little sometimes. As soon as she took the Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement, it took about one week to see a great improvement. After that, she had no more trouble with that leg. She weighed 30lbs, and the correct maximum dosage for her was 500mg Glucosamine and 200mg Chondroitin once daily.
Avatar n tn my boyfriend was in a car wreck while he was crossing a street and he has the folllowing injuries a fractured leg a cracked pelvis and his right arm is broken in 3 places . he was sent to bedrest and keep his left leg elevated above the hip and he is not allowed to do much . he wants to walk and move around and he is so depressed cause he can't and it hurts me to see him like this.
1323336 tn?1274712771 I think I will just out wait Sasha, I think she will stop digging when she gets a bit older. I HOPE. She has a broken leg and I thought that with her back leg broken she would not dig. No such luck. Once again thank you.
Avatar m tn They certainly help my dog, I can vouch for that. She has been on them now for 2 years. She used to limp very slightly on a back leg which was once broken when she was younger. The vet said she would probably grow to develop arthritis in that leg, and it did seem things might be going that way, as any change in the weather to dampness, had her 'hitching' up that leg sometimes. Since starting the Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement, she has not even done that once!
20790334 tn?1506852360 If you have any blood on you or got saliva from the dog on you then you need a rabies shot. You get rabies from the dogs saliva. I think you should see a doctor for their opinion.
Avatar m tn My dog has allergy and now she developed a black/dark brown thick and rough crust just superficially attached to the skin. It's about 2cm diametre on the leg near the armpit. It is broken on the side and when I try to open slightly, is easy to see that will hurt/bleed. Does anybody could give me some advice?
Avatar m tn My dog Pepsi is an 11 year old black lab. She has a fatty lump on her side, but recently I've found a hard lump on her hind leg about the size of a pea. I've also noticed that sometimes she's been holding it funny, but I'm not sure if she had just twisted her leg funny. Is this cancer?
Avatar f tn Then he was not putting his back left paw down. I tried massaging his leg and to put his leg on the groud. He was able to stand there with all paws on the floor but when he walks he only using one back leg. Hes been just laying down , trying to sleep. Not sure what to do since I dont get paid til friday so vet isnt an option right now.
Avatar f tn When I put him down I notice he walks funny. His LEG IS BROKEN. This poor malnurished baby has a broken leg. We have apartments next door and my only thought is that someone threw him off a balcony and he managed to see our light on and somehow got through our privacy fence. So............ I stay up until 3 am deciding what to do.
675347 tn?1365460645 I can give her a 500mg tablet then, as she is 28lbs. She had a broken back leg about 6 -7 years ago (before she came to live with me) and occasionally it 'twinges' her. Today it did that -she was not as keen to chase the frisbee as she usually is!- and I gave her a homoeopathic remedy Rhus Tox, which seemed to work miracles. I had to run an errand at 2pm, and when I came back at 3.30 the leg didn't seem to be bothering her.
3902104 tn?1348527264 my Smitty(JRT) has broken a front toe nail and the only thingholding it on is the flesh nside the nail. the break is very close to the base of the nail. it is not bleeding and the nail is flopping around. he licks it a lot and keeps it clean. this day two since the break. should I wait for it to fall off? and how long will that take? or should I clip the soft tissue to remove it myself then medicate the stub?
1468158 tn?1363026295 t afford to feed them or take them to the vet. Owning a pet is a major responsibility because the animals are dependent on you to provide a loving and stable home. Since you can't do that for any of your animals, you should take them all to the nearest animal shelter to have them find a better home for them where they will be loved and taken care of. It's not fair to those animals to live in a house with abuse and neglect. It's against the law in many places also.
Avatar f tn My dog Charlie is about four or five years old and we're unsure of his breeding because he's a rescue dog. He is a medium size dog, about the size of a collie but shorter in the leg. Over a period of several weeks I've noticed a change in his mobility, particularly when ascending the stairs, getting up from a resting position, and sitting down. His right back leg appears quite stiff after resting and when he gets up he has to stretch it out behind him before setting off.
