braxton hicks contractions vs preterm labor

Preterm labor is anything before 37 weeks. Contractions basically. So they give you pills to take everyday so it can relax the uterus. And some ladies get a shot at the hospital to stop the contactions. Then put on bed rest for a while. But you still get Braxton Hicks.

They were just Braxton Hicks. Real contractions are consistent and gradually get stronger and closer together. I've been getting Braxton Hicks on and off for about 2 weeks and I'm almost 36 weeks now.

i had preterm labor..u really dont know if its braxton hicks or not..idk actually i could be wrong...but what happened with me is i was only like 5 and a half mnths and i never had BHs my whole pregnancy..so when i felt sharp pains i called my mom n she said oh ur fine and explained what BHs were..so i just thought maybe i was being a wuss but then the pain got alot worse..it felt like contractions after a while and i couldnt even stand up,sit down,anything without being in pain.

I'm 33+1 and I'm trying to figure out if I'm having braxton hicks or contractions... I'm in a lot of pain on the right side of my tummy and in my lower back but it only happens every 10 minutes or so and the tightening last about 5 minutes or so. I know braxton hicks are not suppose to hurt or maybe they do? Scared of preterm labor but need to know if I should worry. It happened 3 times already.

I do not know if I am haveing braxton Hicks or if this is labor. About a week ago I had yellow orange stuff come out of down there.

How often should I be having Braxton hicks? I get them extremely often and was wondering if it's normal? They're starting to get lower like down into my pelvis.

Braxton hicks dont feel like cramps...if you have a history of preterm labor and having regular cramping i would call your drs or L/D. Good Luck!!

Okay so I was having contractions yesterday but I assumed it was braxton Hicks because they were like 7 or 8 mins apart lasting about 5 mins and im having them again but they feel a little closer together but they aren't lasting long at all so those are also braxton right?

At this point there are more options for controlling preterm labor, than of your contractions continue and your water breaks. In the meantime, drink lots of water. Dehydration can cause contractions. Empty your bladder frequently, and most of all, take it easy. Lay down as much as possible.

How many braxton hicks contractions can you get an hour before your an actual labor??

Hi all. I'm not looking for a substitute for a doctors answer but just wondering if anyone can explain what a contraction feels like. I'm 25 weeks. I fell down the stairs yesterday and my pants were soaked so of course I called the dr and went in to make sure nothing was wrong. She said everything seemed fine so I was content. I woke up this morning with cramps. Period cramps so it's consistent pain.

If your having preterm labor you need to be on bed rest. I had it at 30 weeks and i am on bed rest. Im now 34 weeks.

If working is causing braxton hicks does that mean its getting close for me to stop working? I'll be 32 weeks on Tuesday but I only get contractions during work or when I get off and lay down I work at a fast food place but its not really strenuous I'm just on my feet and running around a lot.

If you haven't had any bleeding or if the tightening isn't bad it's most likely braxton Hicks contractions which is false contractions to help your body prepare for the real thing which is common during your 2nd n 3rd trimesters. I'm sure you're fine. If you drink water n lay on your left side n it goes away it's braxton Hicks. I had braxton Hicks that hurt so bad I was afraid it was preterm labor but I was dehydrated which made it worse.

im 32 weeks with contractions 10 mins apart ... this just braxton hicks it has been about an hour?

Most drs will tell you braxton hicks don't hurt....they totally can! If you are having them regularly and they start getting closer and stronger...it's labor. If you are before the cut off the dr set and you are still preterm, the general number is more than 4 in an hour.

Braxton hicks are not supposed to hurt. Just the stomach tightening but I would definately go to er or call dr office and see what they say.

Sounds like braxton hicks which are normal trusttt youll know when its the real deal i was in prelabor for a day and the contractions werent all that bad as active labor but i would still moan it hurt baddd!

It happened to me wleo but i was not having Braxton hicks i was having the real contractions and i went into pre labor and i was 28Weeks and 3 days when that happened so my doctor is making me take medicine to help stop them whoch from time to time i still have contractions but the medication i take helps them slow down and then they go away
