Bisphosphonates like Boniva have been associated rarely with uveitis. You would experience ocular pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, loss of vision and possibly glaucoma if you had uveitis. Your ophthalmologist would be able to tell you right away if you had any uveitis and the Boniva could be discontinued if that were the case.
m sorry, first of all, that your mom is having the sleeping problems. In the end, that affects every day because without a decent sleep, it is hard to function. I liked the honey and milk and that solution as it sounds nice and natural which I wish everything could be to help all of us with medical issues. However........just in case it does not work........I would suggest that first of all, mom has a COMPLETE workup with blood tests, urine tests, etc.
Is boniva a possible cause of papilloma virus on the eyelid going into the conjunctiva?

I noted that for the last several months whenever I took Boniva I had significant swelling under both eyes. Thus, when this past Sunday, 5/23 I developed the papilloma on my left lower eyelid (center) which at first seemed to have a point on top & next day became more elongated I thought Boniva. I would appreciate any feedback as to cause & what possible treatment. It, not very large & seems to be same size this first week.
I am constantly waking up all night because I cannot wear my CPAP mask due to these problems. And I can no longer pet my cats which feels like my hands have been in fiberglass. My bones are so sensitive that it hurts to even sit on a soft chair. It has been a terrible experience which I regret.
I cannot take the Boniva that has been prescribed for me as I also have Gastroparesis. I only take Lipitor right now. I was on Tapezole for 4 years because I also have

heart beating faster, needles and pin feeling in arms and legs. gained a lot of weight. back and leg problems. family dr sent me to a heart specialist, they took all kinds of tests and found nothing wrong. family dr took blood tests, cbc, can't remember what else. It took about 6 months to find out what was wrong. I was getting too much thyroid and had to get my dosage changed. This has happened 2 more times since then but now I recognize the symptoms and go to the end. dr first.
The technician looked at my med list and asked if I am taking Boniva and Synthroid. I answered yes. I take other meds other than those two she mentioned. I told her that I understood why she asked about the Boniva but I didn't understand why she asked about Synthroid. She told me that thyroid meds take from the bones and causes osteoporosis. WHAT??? How come no doctor ever told me?
I developed osteoporosis (only 52) and my gyno-onc had me see an endocrinologist. I now take Boniva- once monthly plus a mult-vit, calcium, and vit-D twice a day. My last scan showed improvement.
He wanted me to go on hormone replacement but my gyno-onc would not hear of it.
extremely swollen right leg especially around knee joint - could not even bend knee, terrible hip pain and two days later a tooth abscess. What are the chances I can tolerate Boniva once a month? My Endocrinologist wants me to try it.
I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain.

She does not have any cramping, but they are watery. This all started when she began to take Boniva several months ago. She stopped taking it 2 months ago. I have suggested that it has not all left her system yet and this may take some time. She has not changed her diet or any meds. She is a creature of habit and eats and does the same things every day. She is 90 yrs old and still very able and mobile.
But her bone density tests (I think) are fine. One physican gave her Synthroid, another told her to stop. One perscribed Boniva, another said no, cause she is a young lady. Here are her labs. Any comments?

in order to treat osteo you need to be on fosmax/ boniva or like substances and have hrt. your doctor you should sue.... because he perscribed it while having the knowledge of your bone health knowing it decreases the amount of calcium in your bones.
I was taking the hormones to help my bones, as I have osteopenia and rheumatoid arthritis. I am on prescription drugs to help the bones (Boniva and calcium and vit. d). I'm worried about breast cancer with continuing the hormones. I had a partial mastectomy on my right breast which was benign. I had a cluster of microcalcifications which looked supicious, but turned out to be benign (big sigh)! Okay now my question.
I recommend checking out the website "Save Our Bones". It is an alternative to using bisphosphonates (Fosamax, Boniva, Actonel, et al) These drugs interrupt the remodeling of bones by adding a "sheath" or layer of hardening to the outside of the bones in an effort to prevent bone "loss". Bones remodel (replace) naturally every few years.
One of the problems with bones is our diets are often highly acidic by processed foods.
for the treatment of Osteoporosis and all have some value. One with a similar name (Boniva) is used quite often and is said to have good results. Dear Doctor, I'm 50 years old and still having regular periods. Over the last several months I have had lower abdominal bloating, gas, and just recently, pain in my left hip. I mentioned this at my last gyn visit several weeks ago and a vaginal ultrasound was performed. There was fluid present (behind my uterus, I believe) and my endometrial stripe was darker than she would have liked.
in 2009 my numbers had worsened by 5%, even with Boniva, then Fosamax. I have many of the symptoms of hyperparathyroid, most notably new dx of A-Fib in the last year.
What should I do? Should I be concerned?
I can get some vivid dreams but that makes for some fun conversations with family and friends. I have had itchy skin problems for a long time and have seen it increase but not sure if it is the plaquenil or the Lupus and RA causing it. However, these are all so minor when I compare to the good plaquenil is doing in my life. I don't want to have my joints deterioriate and not be able to do the things I love.
D2. Only other meds are Prontonix and Allegra. Just came off a 5 year cycle of BONIVA. My spine is high fracture risk.
Now told that I need total hip replacements & that I have cycsts in my hips (considered not unusual). I work 60-70 hours week. I find I can no longer tolerate that schedule, but need insurance. There is a possibility that my company may downsize and I would be without both a job and insurance.
