The doctor has asked me to reduce the Penicillin to 2x a day and I am anxious to see if the pain returns. The pain was so bad it kept me awake at night, throbing and I had it catching when I sat up and that is gone also. I have posponed the operation and I now am able to do normal activity. I am astonished as is my doctor.
I monitor this site for info on my eye condition. I do not know if the papilloma specifically is related, but Boniva and drugs like it can cause swelling around the eyes as you describe. Just read any website discussing adverse effects of Boniva. I think it worth discussing with your doctor. You should be very aware and cautious of any facial swelling while on Boniva.
She has not changed her diet or any meds. She is a creature of habit and eats and does the same things every day. She is 90 yrs old and still very able and mobile. She is on Lopressor 25mg, Mucinex 600mg, Aspirin 162mg, Aldactone 25mg, Lasix 20mg, OTC multivitamin, OTC calcium 500mg, and OTC iron. Her BP runs consistently in the 130's/70's with her pulse in the mid 60's.
I was taking the hormones to help my bones, as I have osteopenia and rheumatoid arthritis. I am on prescription drugs to help the bones (Boniva and calcium and vit. d). I'm worried about breast cancer with continuing the hormones. I had a partial mastectomy on my right breast which was benign. I had a cluster of microcalcifications which looked supicious, but turned out to be benign (big sigh)! Okay now my question.
I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis.
They are given generally prescribed orally and include Fosamax, Actonel and Boniva. They can cause some severe stomach distress as they did for my father. When this happens there are injectable forms of bisphosphonates.
Ibandronate (Boniva injection) is injected into your vein once every three months, and zoledronic acid (Reclast) is injected once a year. If approved by your physician these treatments do not cause stomach distress and you do not have to remember to take a tablet.
You should not be in pain and the tooth should be looked at. I do not know how badly broken down the tooth is, but I would be concerned that you take the chance of fracturing the tooth and the possibility that it would have to be extracted. I am more concerned that you have no discomfort before you restore the tooth.
Before i had a tooth pulled i was getting pain and it was going in to the tooth next to the the tooth that was sore. 4 days ago i got it pulled and i am still getting toothache from the tooth next to the one i have had pulled and also my gum where the tooth has been pulled is really sore feels as though i have been punched in the mouth. I have recently been getting really hot and sweaty. I have been taking painkillers but they really are not helping.
The next day while brushing with warm water it hit the tooth with the crown. AND MORE TEARS That pain then affected my whole left side. The today(7/8) the pain has been centralized with the molar that has the crown. The tooth is sensitive to biting and touching. It also looks a little swollen

Hi and I can so relate to your doubts on the mentioned medicines, I have given up on taking any of them and least of all any bisphosphonates the side effects are simply terrible specially Boniva, there is a site about these meds and all the posters are those women who have taken them, you can look it up under "Boniva side effects" or http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=21455&name=BONIVA, this is a forum where patients detail the side effects they had.
He applied that cool gel to the crowned tooth and to the teeth in the front and back of the crowned tooth to check the nerves. I felt no pain. Of course the crowned tooth felt no sensation because of the root canal that was done on it. He poked around the ridges and gumline and no breaks or leaks were evident. The dentist said this was a real enigma. The first month the crown was on it felt perfect. I get a quick pulsating pain, and itchy feeling around the crown. Near the gums.
The technician looked at my med list and asked if I am taking Boniva and Synthroid. I answered yes. I take other meds other than those two she mentioned. I told her that I understood why she asked about the Boniva but I didn't understand why she asked about Synthroid. She told me that thyroid meds take from the bones and causes osteoporosis. WHAT??? How come no doctor ever told me?

I was told that it would worsen after the chemo (carbo/taxoterre), and it did. Not terribly, but a decrease in bone mass just that same. I started on Boniva and my cholesterol shot up about 120 points. I just stopped that recently and my numbers dropped by 80 points. Seems there are downsides for everything. Now taking Viactiv with vitamins D & K, 3 chews a day. Will have another bone density next April. I also am fairly physically active and hope that will help.
heart beating faster, needles and pin feeling in arms and legs. gained a lot of weight. back and leg problems. family dr sent me to a heart specialist, they took all kinds of tests and found nothing wrong. family dr took blood tests, cbc, can't remember what else. I had a lower left side molar pulled, and the tooth behind it is in pain, and there is a wisdom tooth behind that. Is this pain caused by my teeth moving now that there is space? I went back to the dentist, she opened up the crown and redid that tooth, but the pain remained. She said the x-ray showed no infection and there isn't any nerve left in that tooth. Later, she put on the permanent crown and told me that if the tooth still hurts, then I need to see a specialist and the specialist told me that he would have to drill the crown open to redo that tooth. I spend $4500 on those two canals. I don't want to destroy them.
I have been having a lot of pain in one of my front teeth (top). I have had a root canal, crown, deep cleaning and an "apio" done on that tooth. The tooth is so sensitive just to touch or when I brush. I can't even bite into something soft. Also, the pain radiates to the area between the gum and my nose. My dentist has suggested removing the tooth and putting an implant in.
also i seem to have multiple clacifications thoughout my body and bone pain lt.wrist and hand especially my knees and legs . my tsh level for the past yr are high and recently vit d deficiant . i take 112mcg of levothyroxine now .what bothers me the most is the bone pain that limits activity and the fatigue i feel at times . in my heart i feel tsh meds have side effects that really need to be addressed !
IS THERE A CORRELATION FOR WE WOMEN REALLY HAVE TO KNOW.
