Avatar f tn My blood type is also O+. I found out my blood type after I enlisted in the military plus I found my blood type on my birth certificate. I do suffer from depression and I do have anger issues but I am managing both with therapy. I know when I don't eat, I do get very cranky. I've never had a manic episode but there are times when I was darn near close. I had to remove myself from particular situations or else it may have landed me in jail. Simply because I skipped lunch.
Avatar f tn One note on the allergy - I don't show an allergy to anything on a skin test - it has to be a blood test for Celiac (wheat allergy). Currently, I haven't taken any thyroid meds for a month because when I quit eating wheat my energy went sky hi & now the thyroid hormone (even 1/2 my regular dose of synthetic which ususally gives me no energy) makes my heart race and I get way too hyper . So I can't take anything until after I talk with doc tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I just did a blood test today for Gene Testing to r/o Celiac Disease should be getting the results in about a week. This is the only test that can be done without being on the Gluten Free diet.
Avatar n tn Hello, Blood sugar of 115 could be "somewhat normal", depending on when you measured it. Blood sugar of 147 is not normal regardless of when you measured it. Truely normal fasting is in the low 80s, however most doctors will allow up to about 99, 100 - 126 is prediabetic, and >126 is overt diabetes. 2 hours after eating target should be close to fasting if your blood sugar is normal, but always < 120, though some will allow < 140.

Avatar n tn They specifically eliminate blood sugar spikes, and keep the blood sugar in a normal range. Blood sugar spiking is another theory as to why many type 1 diabetics gain weight, and these low GI foods reduce it. Just a side note however, when I was on the diet, my blood sugar constantly went low and i had to compensate by eating multiple snacks throughout the day, something that probably offset my pound-shedding.
Avatar n tn I have changed my entire diet by eliminating chocolate, coffee, red meat, wheat and dairy. My dr. gave me prescription Zantac which helps a great deal, but I am still having this problem at least 10 times a day. The next step will probably be an upper GI series or endoscopy if this doesn't improve within the next couple of weeks. I have already had an H Pylori blood test to rule out an ulcer, an ultrasound and an MRI which were unremarkable. I am getting very tired of this!
Avatar n tn On one occasion I asked Dr. DeAdamo (Eat right for your blood type) and was told to take bioflavonoids for it. I am beginning to take the supplement now, since the vessel popping has become too annoying to ignore.
Avatar f tn If you find it is faster by 6 beats, you are allergic or have a sensitivity to it. If you have typeOblood, use 4 beats as the criteria instead of 6. It’s that simple. Malabsoption issues, improperly digested macronutrients and Leaky Gut (Intestinal permeability) create an environment that is condusive to the manifestation of many similar symptoms to yours. Avatar n tn For the past several years I have noticed that after eating food (which ranges from just a cup of milk to a full meal) that my heart rate and blood pressure increases significantly about 30 minutes after eating, and it lasts for about one and 1/2 hours to two hours. This occurs about 50% of the time after eating. My heart rate goes from ~75 bpm up to 140 bmp (max todate), and the blood pressure goes from 130/80 up to 180/102 (max to date).

1423357 tn?1511089042 My doctor monitors my numbers every 4 months - cholesterol, glucose, etc, blood pressure. My blood glucose slowly rose over a period of years until it got to the point where my doctor said we have to do something. Avatar f tn You will find that it is both the total amount of carbs eaten at a meal and the type of carb that affects your blood sugar. Processed carbs like cereals, breads, cakes, potatoes, anythbing made with flour, sweet fruits, tend to have the biggest effect. Non-starchy veges and regular fat dairy should have a lesser effect. Best cheeses are the unprocessed ones, which have I think 1 g of carb/1 oz serve. But you can look it up. Try eating different amounts of carbs/ meals.
351317 tn?1204755471 Hi, I came across this thread researching Serotonin levels and how to measure them and how to raise them. I have very low levels as per a blood test. The serum blood test is, I believe, as mentioned, measured indirectly. The doctors and psychiatrists I've spoken with don't seem to have any answers to any of my questions, but it doesn't surprise me. They usually aren't the best at pharmacological issues.

774736 tn?1311334985 It certainly can! Even if you don't have a true allergy and don't have definite Celiac--yes, you can get brain fog from gluten. Particularly if you have gluten intolerance. If you have other issues, such as IBS or if you get migraines or if you have blood type O, you should definitely stay away from gluten. Yep, your blood type matters. I got this information from "Eat Right for Your Blood Type" written by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo. Glutenology.

Avatar n tn Actually several times, and I should be more at ease I guess, but I'm not. At first they did an x-ray, and a urine and blood test; all of which were normal and they thought it was muscular. When it persisted, and I got a slight fever that went away, I went in again, and this time more blood work, and an abdominal CT scan.
Avatar n tn o) my snacks are 30 carbs too (half in the form of fruit or vegetables) and I've noticed that throwing a protein in with them helps (piece of low fat string cheese usually), although thats not what is on the diet that was given to me. Dietician said it was ok though. it is interesting to learn what carbs do to your body vs. what proteins do. it sure makes you more aware of what you put in your mouth.

Avatar f tn Blood samples from Boston and Scandinavia almost never reveal alpha-gal antibodies, which are common in samples from patients in Virginia, North Carolina and other parts of the South, as well as parts of Australia. Testing of Newell's O-positive blood in Platts-Mills's lab revealed very high levels of alpha-gal, and other tests confirmed that after more than a half-century of eating meat, he now had an untreatable allergy. Newell is now enrolled in a large allergy study at U-Va.
