Avatar f tn I am o negative blood type as well and i didnt miscarry i only got my first shot at 28 weeks. i dont why they said its your blood type. my doctor was more concerned about me then the baby.
Avatar f tn hi all mummies to be, I'm concerned for my blood type and others with the same. This is my second pregnancy but unfortunately my first ended in miscarriage and my gp stated something to do with my blood type fighting against the baby's blood cells because my partners blood is positive. I'm scared it's going to end the same way does anyone else know anything about o neg blood in pregnancy a bit concerned !!
Avatar f tn They only give you O type blood if they have to because its a neutral blood type and your body wont reject it.
5889951 tn?1380316047 I was discussing with my sons father who is o negative blood type and I am o negative blood type would my son be o negative as well? If anyone has any info they could share with me I would be very appreciative.
1204700 tn?1271948852 I was wondering the same thing since your blood is separated from the baby so it shouldn't be an issue what your blood type is unless your rh negative.
Avatar f tn I just recently asked what was my blood type because my mom told me I was o-negative. Well I found out that I am but I never received a Rhogam shot. My doctor has never even discussed it with me. Is this a big issue? Will this cause any complications? Has anyone else dealt with this????
Avatar f tn Any woman who is a negative blood type has to get the shot if baby is positive blood type it's just normal
Avatar f tn Soo my midwife informed me that I'm O-negative which means my blood can't pass thru to the babies blood because my cells will fight against it so at 28 weeks I have to have an injection to prevent this from happening in the mean time if I fall or bang my bump i have 48 hours to get this injection before it can cause harm?? Has any1 ever heard of this ??
Avatar f tn You mean Rh negative. This means your Blood doesn't contain the Rhythm protein. It has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with your Blood type.
Avatar f tn Reason why, the only reason why having o- blood type is a problem is if your baby has a different blood type then you and for some reason your blood is mixed during pregnancy then your body will not recognize it and try to fight it off like an infection. It will create antibodies but those antibodies only happen in second, third, or any other pregnancy in the future.Your body won't make them during your first.
Avatar n tn Hello cdc29, Just reading your question with regards to blood type. If the father is O pos and the the mother is A pos you can NOT produce an offspring that is B neg. Here is why, we will deal with the blood groups and leave out the Rh factor for simplicity (will explain that after).
Avatar f tn ) ut im conserned on the fact that i have O- blood type and My OBGYN did say that on the 2nd time expecting it was more risking... Does any one know more info about this? I realldy didnt get much just the part that my body attacks the baby... So HELP!
1230912 tn?1273492770 I am always reading about symptoms and connections. I think that the RH negative blood type is a clue or something. Have you read the crazy stuff about Rh positive blood some folks call it monkey blood and the negative blood they call reptilian blood....uh, ok...they say that folks from the Basque people (spain which was infiltrated with vikings) that they have the highest amount of the o neg types.
Avatar f tn Soo the midwife infirmed me that I'm O-negative which means my blood can't pass thru to the babies blood and if it does it can cause my cells to fight against the baby??? She sed I have to have an injection at 28 weeks regardless but if I bang my belly or fall over or anything then I have 48 hours to have this injection before it can cause harm??? Has anyone else ever heard of this???
Avatar f tn OK only mothers that r RH negative (negative blood type ) get the rogam shot....it stops your blood from taking on the antigens of the baby's blood if mother and baby's blood mix at the time of birth...if this were to happen and you should end up pregnant again there's a chance your body would abort the baby and you'd miscarry this happens when the blood type is different due to the now antigens you adopted from this baby...the shot stops your blood from doing this ...
538330 tn?1232023960 For example, if your mother is O-positive and your father is A-negative, than you can be O-positive, O-negative, A-positive or A-negative. So you can get the type ( O, A, B, or AB) from one parent and the Rh factor (positive or negative) from the other parent. It is also possible to have the exact same blood type as one of your parents.
Avatar n tn I have negative blood type and had several pregnancies that I was fine with- one miscarriage and then one other pregnancy after that- he's four months old now. When you have RH negative you will need to get a shot for each pregnancy and after a baby is born, they test their blood type, if they are positive, they give you another shot.
Avatar f tn Okay so my blood type is o-negative , I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and everybody has been telling me that I'm suppose to get a shot twice so that my blood doesn't fight off the babies blood if he has a different type. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Should I call my Dr and ask?
3198629 tn?1367038423 Umm, my sister had to have a needle when she was pregnant with her first because she had a negative blood type and the father was a positive. My question is, I don't know what blood type my fiance is and I'm O+, but I was under the impression that if you were positive the fathers blood type didn't matter, is that true? I don't want my body to attack the baby..
8274643 tn?1406141596 Well the father is O+ so would it affect the baby that much if we're both an O blood type?
7458937 tn?1391882099 I Was Told I Get A Shot After Delivery And If The Baby Has A Positive Blood Type, She Will Get A Shot. If Babys Blood Type Is Negative, They Dont Need The Shot.
Avatar f tn I took my blood lab at about 12 weeks or so but since I did the test at a different place I had to sign a release to my current baby dr n they said they got the results n whatnot but I was told they couldn't find my blood type. I went to my appointment today though n they said my blood type is O negative n I was supposed to get a rhogam shot at 28 weeks. So I'm going to the Dr yo draw blood n set up an appointment for the shot tomorrow but I'm just worried that it's too late.
Avatar f tn my blood type is o+ and my husband believes his is o-. i am 24 weeks and see my dr on the 14th... im just wondering would i have to take the shots like someone with rh- blood bc the fact im a pos blood type and if he is a neg type??
Avatar n tn My fiance just got blood typed as LAN blood type after not knowing his blood type for 23 years, I am O neg. What complications could we have with conceiving and pregnancy?
Avatar f tn My blood type is O- and I've heard that this may cause problems for my baby. Are any of you mommies O- as well? What did you have to do in order to keep you and baby safe? And was everything okay? Is your baby healthy now? I just want to know what I need to expect. I am almost 13 weeks pregnant. Thanks.
10667992 tn?1414366589 Yes, a negative blood type usually means you get a rhogam shot twice in your pregnancy. I'm not sure if your baby's father's blood type changes that but I am a positive blood type as well as my hubby.
Avatar n tn Are there any O negative moms out there. I found out yesterday my blood type is O negative and my doctor was explaining it to me and she mentioned a shot.
