My reasons for biting my skin and nails i believe is because i am constantly anxious and over think things in my head which cause me to be stressed out. My main problem at the moment is with this habit and it is most probably due to the fact that i have some kind of obsessive disorder where i see putting my hands to my mouth as a means of comfort and self soothing and to be honest that is exactly the type of relief that i get when i do it.
It may also be a hemmroid, i got that when i was little.. check the internet for symptoms and sde if they match up. Best of luck, i hope the little one is feeling better soon.
I have a nail biting problem.
My nails are chewed down past my fingertips. My ring fingernails are shortest, at about an eight of an inch long. The skin where my nails used to be is scarred and ugly. Despite the intense pain and bleeding, I can't stop biting my nails. When I can't get a grip on the nail with my teeth, I find myself picking at them with a knife, nail clippers, pencil, or whatever's on hand.
I've tried nail polish.
i am 21 years old and have been biting my nails practically all my life...About 3 months ago(1 month before i started college again...).i had gel nails put on for 1 month(every 2 weeks costed me R600+-).then they were growing so nice for 1 month and what do you know ? start biting them again at the moment both my index fingers are horribly chewed.i dont know what the possible cause may be? i havent been to a doctor to see whether i suffer from depression or something???
I have never had nails. I cant peel an orange or pick up a quarter, biting is something I've always done. Whenever I see white it just has to go! ill bite my toes even. Whenever I had a professional job interview or college interview, my dad would always tell me "Make sure you sit on your hands!" even as hard as I would try I would always somehow subconsciously find my hand in my mouth.
I'm a 14 yr old girl with a great life most of the time, not much drama and i do well at school with stress only during the really big tests so i dont understand why i bite my nails and do so till they bleed. Ever since I was little I have been biting my nails. When I finally stopped doing that I began to pick at the skin around my fingers and bite the inside of my mouth. I cant seem to ever relax. When I try not to pick at my fingers I get a really anxious feeling as if Im about to jump out of my skin. Even just sitting in school or watching tv I am not able to sit still and relax. I'm a high school kid who has experienced depression and is currently experiencing anxiety. You see, I used to have long, strong, thick nails. I was quite proud of them (mainly because they were my main self harm tools). But, due to anxiety, I started biting my nails down. Now, they don't even grow past the tip of my finger. I always keep them super short. I also bite off the skin around my nails, and try to tear away my cuticles.
t know the reason until i found his brother biting it, or literally sucking it. i do not know why but it hurts him so much and i do not know their gender yet. but they are so young, small kittens. then after afew days i found the third one's anus swollen and red too and i noticed the same one biting and sucking it. which is really annoying.. please help??
ever since i was little ive biten my nails. in the past year ive gone from biting them when im nervous or bored to hacking at the nail and the skin around them with nail clippers and even scaples. whats wrong with me. i often cant stop until it hurts and there bleeding... what could this be caused by?
Not sure why biting one's nails would "damage" them. It can annoy onlookers, but all you're doing is cutting your nails with your teeth instead of a tool. How wide the pink is I'm guessing is more dependent on who you are than anything else. Health and length of nails is dependent on your diet. I bit my nails for years as well, and when I stopped, they just grow now and I have to take the time to cut them. I preferred biting them, frankly.
ll want to trim his nails short and talk to him about hygiene and not scratching his rectum with his hands.

My 20 month old son is biting his nails and crunching his teeth even in his sleep.. I have noticed that during the weekend he sometimes stops biting his nails but starts again in the week, (he goes to daycare). I have asked his day care provider if there are any kids who bite their nails and she said none.
Interestingly, when I was pregnant I stopped biting my nails. However, when I was no longer pregnant I began again. The nails come in stronger during pregnancy and I think hormones are involved in this somehow. I also find that if I cut out caffiene the biting can lessen a lot.
Too bad I love coffee.
I find that if I get a ragged edge on my nail, I am completely unable to combat biting and of course that just makes it worse.
t have worms or any kindve diseases. Hopefully the kitten will be able to stay with you when the baby is born. I just got a kitten myself and I always have little cousins running around at my house so I also know that if you're gonna keep the kitten you're gonna have to make sure it isn't biting and scratching or that it doesn't have any diseases.
Drink plenty of water and get lots and lots of exercise. To quit biting your nails, get that kid stuff that tastes awful and put them on your fingers, plus make a concentrated effort not to do that. Instead, you can get into puzzles, like Soduku, it helps to release that pent-up energy in a similar way as chewing on your nails, it's a tiny goofing thing and much more adult.

I'm sure he's not biting - I've never seen him bite his nails (he's 8.5 yrs. old), his nails are even and have no bite/tear ridges, and his toes don't grow either, and he's not flexible enough to get to all his toes. I've asked him if he bites or picks at them and he says no. So def. no biting, they simply don't grow. It's weird.
