biaxin vs amoxicillin

Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. I am one week into treatment and feel only marginally better. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling. Depending on the day, or time of the day, the pain is greater or less.

I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.

- HIV at 7 weeks, 15 weeks and 9 months - STD test for Clymidia and gonnerea at about 8 months after (this was a urine test) I was concerned cause I peed about 1 hour before testing Since these exposure I have been on Biaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day, Amoxicillian 500mg 3 times a day ( I have been on this twice as I have a saliva gland issue for a number of years. I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection. All test were negative.

I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Clarithromycin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin. Still on Day 2 (only 24 post exposure) took 500mg Clarithromycin ER. The next day, today took Amoxicillin 500mg & Clarithromycin ER 500mg & Ceftiaxone 1gm IV (prefer not to explain but I am in healthcare).

I have built up a tolerance to Levequin, Zithromyacin, Amoxicillin, after 9 years of COPD and now have bronchitis. Any suggestions for other potential antibiotics or other ideas?

I had 2 women perform oral sex on me and about 2-3 months later I had a chest cold and my doctor gave me biaxin 2x500mg a day for 10 days. then a few months later had amoxicillian 3x500mg a day for 10 days for another unrelated infection (my docs loves to give antibiotics) If I did get a std like gonnerea or clymidia or anything else that is bacterial would the biaxin get rid of it?...keep in mind I have had no unprotested sexual intercourse just received oral from a women.

I swear my ulcer was a Bart's lesion. It was not h- pylori and looked exactly like other lesions I have.

ve read about patient experiences, amoxicillin is a popular choice for treating Lyme, especially in younger patients. Doxycycline is also widely used in treating Lyme. I've taken neither of those two. Depending on if/what co-infections the patient has, other meds/combinations can be effective. I've been on several different antibiotics, including minocylcine, azithromycin, and factive.

About 3 weeks or so after stopping antibiotics (Amoxicillin and Biaxin) I developed a flat, red, and sometimes itchy rash on both breasts and my stomach. Sometimes I get shooting pains in my breasts. Then, when I had just one dose left of the amoxicillin, I started to get sick again and they gave me the zpack (I've had problems before with recurrent strep). I have read lots of your post concerning biaxin and azithromycin and whether they cure syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU. I have found that biaxin is chemically different than azithromycin but biologically same at killing bacteria as azithromycin. On some post you say that azithromycin or clarithromycin(biaxin) would cure all the bacterial stds then in others you state that there could be some problems. by H. Hunter Handsfield, M.D.

However, I went to a French doctor when I did still have the sore throat and he prescribed amoxicillin in powder form (despite me telling him about the biaxin xl I had previously been prescribed, which he wasn't familiar with because that is the commercial name), but also pointed out that i had a brown tongue due to a fungus and prescribed to me triflucan, an antifungal also in powder form. he attributed the brown tongue coating to the antibiotics that i had previously been taking.

I made a mistake, and told my MD that I would like to try BACTRIM, instead of BIAXIN, for my ongoing respiratory infection,so that is what she prescribed. I,ve been on it 5 days with no improvement. Should I call her and tell her of the mistake? 20 days of LEVEQUIN, preceeded by 20 days of AMOXICILLIN,did not overcome infection.I'm assuming BACTRIM will be to mild? Any thoughts? Ask your pharmacist if Amoxicillin interacts with any other meds you are taking. I personally have not had a problem with the antibiotic itself. The most important thing is to ask your dentist for a painkiller without epinephrine. It can cause a rapid heartbeat and bring on an Afib episode. I am taking Norpace for Afib and it cannot be taken with Ethromycin, (or according to my pharmacist, any of the "mycins,") or Biaxin according to one of the messages on this board.

s reaction to generic vs brand name meds, such as Biaxin/clarithromycin, but there are some instances when it can occur because of tiny differences between the specific chemical structure of the two medications. I'm puzzled that your doc doesn't seem to be jumping on this situation and trying different meds in case it IS this specific drug you are reacting to. And also I'm puzzled that he doesn't switch you to another antibiotic altogether.

In the meantime I was out of meds and now I am having sciatica, migraines, and tingling feet, and just overall very moody. Just annoying. So now new one is Amoxicillin and Biaxin so far I am tolerating it fine. I notice this Lymes affects my moods sometimes and I seem much more grouchy and tired than usual.

I just noticed it on Jan 10th. I have just finished a 14 day therapy of antibiotics for h pylori. 2000 mg amoxicillin and 1000 mg biaxin. If it was an infection, wouldn't the antibiotics cleared it up? I'm scared. I had a dentist appt today but they called and cancelled. Now I can't get in fir three more weeks. The bump is hard. Nonpalpable. Same color as palate. It has not gotten any bigger. I'm scared it's cancerous.
