All came back negative other than Genital herpes. On 05/05/08, I took Z-pak, 500Mg of Azithromacin first day, and 250MG for following 4 days for an unrelated sore throte. On 05/20/2008, I started taking Biaxin and Flagyl for 14 days to treat stomach issue. On 05/30/2008, I retested for only Genital herpes and it came back negative. Here are my questions.. 1. How accurate was the test done @ about a week and a half after exposure 2.

Flagyl and biaxin worked well for my.. doxy, not so much. Plaquenil & Z-Pak is a newer protocol docs are using (well at least up here in canada, everyone knows how ignorant the canadian health care system is towrd lyme).. good luck!

twice daily for two weeks, and will take one more week of this dose and then go to 250 mg. Biaxin for 30 days with two refills. I bought Biaxin, no generic. My son played racquetball with my husband last night and for the first time did not have to stop to recover his breathing. We are feeling very hopeful that this may be the cure we have looked for. I told our doctor that after this round of antibiotics that I would be asking for more if I felt we were making progress.

I have no answers yet and we are seeing a pediatric gastroenterologist. She started her on Prev Pak (without the biaxin) and there was no improvement. Any suggestions or opions would be welcome and do you think she should be eating in order to keep something down and have some nutrients? Thanks.

I have read lots of your post concerning biaxin and azithromycin and whether they cure syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU. I have found that biaxin is chemically different than azithromycin but biologically same at killing bacteria as azithromycin. On some post you say that azithromycin or clarithromycin(biaxin) would cure all the bacterial stds then in others you state that there could be some problems. by H. Hunter Handsfield, M.D.

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

I took another Z-Pak again on 02/15/2009, this time I took 1000Mg first day, and 500mg 4 days after.

Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!

she said I had sinusitis and bronchitis and put me on a Z-pak for 1 wk. Afterward, the sore throat was gone and the "bronchitis feeling" was gone, but I was still wheezing deep down in the my throat and coughing. Next tx was medrol dose pack. The wheezing disappeared for a couple of days, then returned. I then developed a metallic taste in my mouth when I cough. 1 wk ago, (May 22) I woke up with fever, chills, muscle aches, and killer sore throat.

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection. All test were negative.

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

Hi everyone, 4 days ago I started treatment with Viekirax pak without Ribavirin, till now no side effects noticed, in truth I feeling even better than before treatment. I am genotype 1b, VL 2mil, stage 2. I have question who had treatment with Viekirax pak is any food that I should avoid when on treatment such (milk, yogurts, picas and so on...)?

He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.

my concern is that they are wanting me to take a pred pak afterward to help keep the swelling down. I told the dr about the elevated cortisol levels and my concern with taking prednisone, but he said it would be no problem. Now, this is a ENT doc so I am doubting he even knows about elevated cortisol. Do any of you have any info you could pass along or websites that I could check into this? I have googled high cortisol+prednisone and came up with nothing, really. Thanks!

t require you to take Ribavirin at least not usually. Qurevo (aka Viekira Pak in the US) will require you to take ribavirin. Also Viekira Pak is multiple pills a day while harvoni is just one. At least as best as I can tell Qurevo is Viekira Pak made my Abbvie Pharmaceuticals while Harvoni is manufactured by Gilead Pharmaceuticals. But I would go with what your doctor recommends and you can get.

May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.

I started taking Biaxin 2 days ago for a horrible throat infection. Since then my muscles have been weak and crampy (especially my calves with restless leg syndrome as well). I also am having horrible stomach cramps and nausea and I get an overwhelming metallic taste in my mouth (almost like bile actually). And the insomnia last night was unbearable. I haven't had insomnia in over a year. Has anyone else experienced this with Biaxin?

I'm wondering if anyone went through tx with Viekira Pak and if you did, what were your side effects. I know I could simply google side effects for Viekira Pak but I want to know what members here felt. Were you able to continue working while on Viekira Pak? Sorry if my question sounds a bit off kilter but I've been out of the HepC loop for a while now. much appreciation!
